And the next Hollows book will be called . . .

Ya know, I actually watched a Dirty Harry movie last night while working on adapting my horse pattern to a giraffe. (More on that later.) It seemed apropos after getting the title for book twelve, and yes, we’re calling it THE UNDEAD POOL.

Woot!

  1. Maybe?

This thread is probably squished out of exsistence by now, and you will probably never see this but who knows right? I know you must have a thousand different voices all beseeching you for their idea of a perfect ending but I just wanted to say I hope I’m reading the subtle clues right and ivy and rachel will end up together…. I understand about marketability and all so I won’t be surprised if that’s not how it ends( I imagine there are 3 straight women angling for Trent to every 1 like me) but I hope u know that even the first half of the series where every moment I was able to identify with ivy, and rachel for that matter meant a lot to me, as I’m sure it did to others. I hope I’m following the thin trail I’ve picked out among the words as it was intended…..as even through Everafter I feel like you’re building something for them. So I won’t give up on the hollows yet…..:) Thank you again……

It was called Hereafter (2010). I would like to know what Eastwood Movies Dead Witch Walking and Black Magic Sanction were named after.

    • Keith Bastin

Black Magic Sanction is from the movie “Eiger Sanction” “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eiger_Sanction_%28film%29”

and “Dead Witch Walking” is most likely a reference to “Dead Man Walking” – Although I don’t know of any particular connection to Clint Eastwood in the film of that name or the phrase.

    Sounds great!

No matter what Ms. Harrison’s pen’s, it holds your attention and you take a excursion with the itchy witch towards entertainment. What a treasure YOU are Ms Kim

  6. Debi

Awesome I was afraid it was ending

  7. Liz

Kim will you be attending any of the Cons this year? Philly is this weekend – hoping you will be coming to the East Coast. Love your giraffe. So cute!

  8. James

OK, First thing first. We’ve got the title, Now we just have to wait for the book. 🙂 Can’t wait to see how Rachel and I turn out. Trent. lol

Woohoo! I’m finally plugged in with my Kindle! I’m sort of technologically challenged although once I understand the terminology I can manage, and it was terminology that was my hangup. But my sis showed me, and now I’m good to go. Kindle won’t completely replace “real” books for me, but the convenience and the ease for my arthritic hands are not to be denied. I can see a lot of library action via e-book borrowing in my near future {:-)

Awesome title. I actually just finished my re read of the first 7 books and the last 4 books (in less than 2 weeks, surprising myself as I have a 2 year old and have to steal time to read) and I am anxiously awaiting book 12 🙂

Thank you for your inspiration and entertainment. I wish you could make it out to my area Chateaugay, ny but I understand all the other things needed to be done I will make sure I act upon your most recent freebie thank you for making it possible.

Good evening Mrs Harrisson. I’m from Canada (more precisely from the province of Québec) and although beeing somewhat shy about contacting you, I finally got the courage write to you. I’m sure you heard all there is to hear about how good you books are, but I did want to add my voice to those wrote to you. You are a wonderfull writer, you really have it in you to make people laugh cry etc, alongside your imaginary characters. You’re style is “spunky”, if I may use that term, and very endearing – a breath of fresh air! Thank you… Cynthia

So more vampires must mean more Ivy!

  14. Tim

I like the name:P I never really thought the vampires left the series. They were always there in the, ahem, shadows.

Completely random, but I realized why I like these books so much. Well, besides the fact they’re great books. But all the characters have this crazy misfit, but bizarrely happy, family dynamic.

I LOVE Al and would love to see him more often …

  16. Love the title, Kim. Very thought provoking and mysterious (in my opinion at least).
It’s hard to believe we have around ten months for twelve, but it will be worth the wait!
I’m re-reading APB and EV until then.
    Have a great week.

Hi Ms.Kim-the title is the most important part of works of art.Pablo Picasso once welded a set of handle bars to a bicycle seat and bronzed it. If he had called it bicycle seat with handle bars, he would have gotten no-where. He called it Minotaur and sold it for$250,000.

Great title. Looking forward to it.

I just counted on my fingers. Expecting a February release, the next Hollows title will be released in about 8+ months. Expecting is the word. It’s about the same length of time between the time a gal discovers she’s pregnant, and the time she delivers. And that last month is EXCRUCIATING! (lol)

  23. Ezgi

Back to vampires I hope? The days an undead gave Rachel and Ivy hell feel so old and forgotten.

Listening to “Ever After” during my work commute right now. I always like having it read to me after I read it (esp. by Gavin!) because there’s always stuff I missed when I tore through it the first time. Super excited for this last one, but sad it will be the last!

    • Angela H

Why didn’t I think of that? I’ve been listening to the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich, but it never dawned on me that The Hollows will also be on audiobooks! Of to find them…….. (Thanks, Izzy!!)

    • izzybella

Enjoy!! M. Gavin does most of them except for one or two and she’s awesome. I was less enamored of the fill-in for the ones she didn’t do. She does a great Jenks! And I like her Ivy and (of course) Rachel, too. 🙂

  25. Perfection!!! Can’t wait for the preorder!!!

  26. Ana

Wow, cool title 🙂 I can’t wait to read it!

  27. Terri Jenkins

Woot!!! As if there could be any other name. Well, of course there could…….but that one works for me! -big grin-

  28. AnnetteR

At what point in the book do you usually try to come up with the first version of the title? Is the titling usually a long process…a lot of back and forth between you and the publishing team assigned to the book? Great title and as always I look forward to reading it. Will reread book 11 at least twice before it comes out when anxiously waiting.

    • I submit with a title, but it’s rare it makes it past the numerous gate keepers now, and I totally understand. We usually settle on a title when I get my edit letter, and it consists of me throwing alternate titles at my editor, and she throwing them back with some of her own, and eventually one lands on top. This time, my agent came up with the winner.

i think this is gonna be a hard wait !!!!!! damn i hate waitin for good books to come out . i like the title for it .

  30. Diva

Very cool. Does the title mean we’re back to the vampires and done with elves/demons?

  31. Jamie

    Love it! Can’t wait!!

  32. Denise Keef

    Sounds like another goodie!!!!

  33. Dan Harkavy

What is the release date? When will pre-order be available?

    • No idea, Dan. I’m guessing sometime between late January and early March. Pre-order? Dude, I just got the title. -laugh-

    • Mandi Perry

Dans’ comment just goes to show how eager your minions are to get their greedy hands on the next amazing novel you have published. I’m one of them.

  34. Woot!! Next years release can’t come fast enough!
