And the title of the last Hollows book is . . .

The title of the last Hollows book is THE WITCH WITH NO NAME, which is cool enough on its own, but the best part is the release date. With much begging and pleading, followed by a careful schedule of editing, copy editing, and finally page proofs, I am tickled three shades of gold to tell you that the ending has been pushed up. I simply can not wait to get to the glorious ending of this, and so you can expect the U.S. release for THE WITCH WITH NO NAME right after Labor Day.

Yep, you saw that right. THE WITCH WITH NO NAME will be hitting the shelves on September 9, of this year!  Like in five months. Yay!

September 9, 2014. Yes! Five months!

September 9, 2014. Yes! Five months!

My PR machine is already starting to shift gears, and though it will become pretty peaceful on the surface after the give-aways next week to celebrate Dead Witch Walking’s 10 year anniversary, I’ve got T-shirts and freebies to get together, and doggie sitters to find, and maybe a new wardrobe because I’ve never toured in warm weather. I won’t know what to do with myself.

So plan your Labor Day celebration, and then take a vacation from your vacation with THE WITCH WITH NO NAME.

And for all the moaning and groaning, I believe if you end it right, closing off a series can be a very uplifting experience. But of course, your mileage may vary, and I’m seeing around corners to the next series. I think you’ll like Peri. She makes good decisions, but her past is her worst enemy.

P.S. If you are a member of Goodreads, I’ve got an event going that if we can get 3000 people to put THE WITCH WITH NO NAME  on their To Read shelf before we release the full cover on the 28th, that I will release chapter one right along with it. If we get 5000 people to put it on their To Read shelf, I’ll release two chapters. You don’t have to be on Goodreads to read the chapters when/if they are released. That wouldn’t be fair. But it’s up to the Goodreads readers to put the push on!

I really love how you plan ahead of time and organize yourself so carefully that you always give us amazing long and super detailed books… for sure I’ll miss this guys, they are my fav among every other on every other author’s books but since I really love your writing and the way your mind works with every plot I’m sure I’ll love Peri and her friends 🙂

Awesome that you’re releasing another book, sad that you’re ending the series. I absolutely love the Hollows and am looking forward to a good conclusion. I hope your next series is as good as this one.

  4. Siw Rudolfsen

    I love it :))
I hope it comes out in Norwegian to 🙂
I have all the other books in my shelf 🙂

Witch With No Name is now on my Want to Read list.

While I’m happy to know the series ender will be fantastic, just like the rest of the Hollows, I’m going to miss them all.
Jenks and his Disney cursing little mouth, Ivy’s soul binding issues, Trent’s smart cookie attitude, Bis’ learning curve with ley lines, and Rachel’s ever growing family of friends.

Thanks for everything Kim, I’ll hopefully make an appearance at one of your tour stops this fall!

Thank You, Thank you! I can not wait to read the final book! I have loved this series so very much.

Please, please come back to Pittsburgh for the final book. We all had a blast. Again can’t wait until September to read Witch with no Name. I will miss hearing about the Hallows.

Can’t wait for this book, but will be sad that the series is over. I’ll try to savor it for as long as I can when it comes out.

Last ‘Hollow’s” book! Please tell me it ain’t so! All of my favorite series are ending. Please tell me there will at least be a compendium of the ‘Hollow’s’ sometime in the future? Thank you for giving me the pleasure of reading your wonderful writing, and the pleasure of meeting you at NY COMIC CON, and getting all my first edition paperbacks signed.

  12. MAC

I was wondering if you could come to Nashville, Tennessee for your “The Witch with No Name” tour. I’ve waited so long for you to come to Tennessee. Please Come Ms. Harrison.

  13. Birte

I am totally ecstatic. This made my day!! 🙂

    End of the Hollows?

  15. Jerry C

Few things can match the ecstasy of knowing I only have to wait until September to read the next installment of The Hollows series! Sad that it’ll be the last, but hey, an author knows when it’s time to close up shop on one project and move on to something new. Can. Not. Wait. To. Read The Witch With No Name!

  16. Todd

Wow, super excited (but sad) about the last book coming out in September! I will miss Rachel, Ivy, and Jenks, though. Glad you will still be cranking out books. Is there a place I can find out more about Peri, and the new series she stars in? Or is she still safely tucked away in your amazing brain? Glad you will still be cranking out books!

  17. Michelle

Really sad to actually see the ending in site. But at the same time i’m dancing in my chair to have another on of your awesome books to read this year. You must have had to work at break neck speed to get this last book out by September, i’m very grateful 🙂 Kim I just wanted to let you know that YOU are the reason I read! I used to read when I was younger, but gave up on it for several long years and then one day I ran across a book called Dead Witch Walking and was hooked from page 1. There were about 7 books out by then and I read them all in a week, I don’t think I slept at all.

I’m really excited about Peri, although I think I missed something when it comes to Peri because the first I remember of seeing that name was in a post just the other day.

I also had an idea, and it’s probably just my Hollow’s Withdrawl kicking in already, but wouldn’t it be cool if you wrote Hollow’s updates every 5 years or so. Kick out a 15th anniversary novella to let us know what Rachel and gang is up to, and if that went well maybe we could get a 20th Anniversary lol That way you’re not still stuck in the Hollow’s 24/7 and can create new stuff to your hearts content, but we still get to see a version of “Where Are They Now: Hollows Edition”.

Added to TBR list on Goodreads, where btw I saw the name for the book Friday or Saturday night, but I didn’t know if it was for real, I even went and looked up a list of Eastwood titles and couldn’t come up with a match, which did you use? I’m stumped.

Stats per Goodreads :1408, which means 11 more people added to their TBR List since I started typing this.

Thanks for some awesome entertainment KIM! Also I hope you save Ivy’s soul and bribe Al with cookies to cover the last incident. I’m still pretty sad about that 😦

    • That is a very cool idea about the updates! I might have to think about that.
The Good, Bad, and Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars, and For a Few Dollars More were collectively called The Man with No Name, and that’s where the title comes from.

  18. Heather Scott

Done!! It is on my Want to read shelf!!! Let’s get those chapters!!

  19. Elena Lopez

OMG OMG OMG OMG SOOO EXCITED!!!!

  20. Opinionated Bookworm

I really love this series and it makes me sad that it’s ending. But I agree that a well written ending and resolution is sometimes better than dragging on too long. I just don’t understand how it happened that 3 of my favorite series are all ending within a 6 month period! I think it’s a conspiracy. 🙂

Based on the quality of this series, I’m looking forward to what you’re doing next.

  21. Lemonade

Aaaannnnd…. DONE. On my goodreads want to read list. So, I have my guess as to how you’ll tie up the series…. Jenks finally hooks up with Tinkerbell and stops using her name in vain. Ivy joins a vegan commune with her girlfriend and they teach yoga. Trent and Rachel bring construction crews to the Ever After and they invest in luxury condos for the discerning demon. I know, I know… spoiler alert.

    ;D

BTW, seriously- I’m pretty excited to get this so soon!! Thanks!

  22. Yes, I am sad that this is the final book for Rachel and company, but I am looking forward to the new series. All the characters in the series hold a special place in my heart and I have all the books so that when I feel the need I can reread them. I have done so for the last ten years, the read-along this year was great fun! Ten years, wow, what a hell of a ride! The writing style of Kim Harrison is what has kept me as a loyal Hollows fan as well as the characters. Thank you, Kim Harrison!

  23. Kim, Can’t wait to read it, but the new date was a bit of a letdown!!! As soon as I read the line about the ending being pushed up, I knew, I just knew what the date was going to be. It had to be. After all, 13th book…….end of series…..witches, demons, elves, fairies……… it just had to be……..Labor Day???????????? Huh? I thought sure it had to be Halloween!!! I mean, think about it. Book 13. End of the Hollows Series. Released on “Hollow”een!!! Epic!!!

Oh well, at least we’ll have the book to read!!! As much as I’ll hate to see the series end, still can’t wait to read it.

Thanks for this series Kim. I’ve loved it.

  24. Marcie

OMG! Squeal! I can’t believe it! Its getting released on Labor day! Oh Boy Oh Boy!!! What a way to end summer and the series! I can’t wait. Oh Gosh what will do I for my Rachel fix then? Well I just have to keep rereading! Love the title too!

Oh I’ve been dying to learn about Peri. I’m excited to met, er, well read her!

  25. Kristy

Does that mean you will be touring in California?!?

  26. Shirley Traynor

It is definitely on my want to read list on Goodreads!! I am behind in series…I always hate when I get to the last book in a series, but in a good way…LOL! Hope this just means you will come up with something new and great for us to read afterwards!!!

  27. Donna Binns

I am so sad that I won’t be able to enjoy the new adventures of Rachel and Jenks and Ivy. But I have all the books so far and I can relive them when I want. I am definitely getting her last one.

  28. munchkin

Wow, that’s really moving the release up, you’ve been busy 🙂
Last hallows and labor day end of summer – going out in a big way.
I’ve been savoring/rationing the chapters of Undead Pool since the signing in Pittsburgh. Can’t wait to see how everything works out for all our beloved characters but will be said to see them go 😦
Knowing you have another great series that you are working on eases the pain 😉
Love to see you again at a signing for our final installment of the Hallows!

  29. Jessica S

Yay! Bring it on…I put it on “to-be-read” on Goodreads….and I also put it on my wish list for BnN….Cant wait.

  30. Finally got a chance to check in on the blog to find out the title, which is cool all by itself, but to also learn we get the book months sooner than expected–that just turned my long hard day into one of celebration! Yay!!

  31. Added! Is there a way to tell how many people have put the book on their shelf?*salivating*!! Sept 9 is too far way!

  32. Sara

Sorry, this is like the third post I’ve put on here!!! Where is the closest you come to Canada??? Im thinking about getting my passport and making the trek to come meet you and be a part of your last Hollows book tour!!! If you are doing a tour for this book??

    • Ann Arbor? That’s about 40 minutes from Detroit, which is just over the border. I might also do something in Seattle, which hits Canada on the other side.

  33. Tina

Thank you so much, that is great news!! Headed over to Goodreads now!!!

  34. Pam Howie

I’m sad to see the Hollows series to end but I’m probably will reread the series again cause there is no waiting for the next book to come out. I love the characters in the series. I hope people are mean to you like they were with Charlaine Harris over the sookie series. When is the new series coming out. Your one of my most favorite author.

    • I hope readers are kind as well. It’s hard to see a series you like end, but please don’t take it out on the author who needs to keep growing their skills. Sometimes, you can’t grow without shifting your view.
I am intentionally not trying to plan Peri’s debut so Rachel’s last hurrah is not eclipsed. I am ready, though, and can move very fast when things start to shift from Hollows to this new thing.

  35. Cryss Thain

I want to thank you for having the specials on the Kindle books. I now have the complete collection (so far) and plan on buying “The Witch with No Name” when it comes out on Kindle. I have so enjoyed reading about Rachel, Trent, Ivy & Jenks and all the other souls. Thank you.

  36. Please, save Ivy’s soul!

  37. i have never been so happy and so sad then i am right now! thank you so much for this series it has inspired so much creativity for me in my photography. but most of all it made me smile, laugh, cry and have fun. so thank you so much for these fantastic books and i cant wait to see what you have in store for the last book 🙂

  38. tiggerluver

I’m going to really miss Rachel and friends. I can’t wait to find out how you’ve ended to series. And that title has my mind swirling with all the possibilities of what the book holds between its covers. You are my favorite author and can’t wait to read about Peri. Thanks for giving all of us Rachel!!

  39. wendy johnson-hamm

I was hoping the last cover would have been a group type picture or mabey trent and rachels hope full wedding pic with jinxs as best bug. Still cant wait.♥♥♥♥♥♥

  40. SquidgeWA (aka JKH)

In my humble opinion (snerk) I think that Ms Kim will have to visit every State at least once on the final Hollows Tour … just sayin’ ….

  41. Angi H

I can’t believe we don’t have to wait until next year!! Woo-hooo!! Way to hustle! I’m hoping we’ll have a Jenks-centered short story titled Play Pixy for Me, just so that great cover isn’t wasted….. LOL

  42. It’s been a swell adventure all these years and I admit I will be sad to see the Hollows series end but I’m also excited to see how you drop the curtain on such endearing characters. I’ve tagged “The Witch with No Name” on Goodreads. Here’s to the closing curtain.
    Penquillity – AKA Jeannie Leighton

  43. Vampyre

Mission accomplished ma’am. I have it pre ordered and want toed. Now if can just get within range while on tour, I’ll come see you again.

Since this last book is coming out early, does that mean the next new series will start the following Jan/Feb?

  44. Shunda

I am happy for that! but sad for my girls…;-( please tell me there might be spin offs?

  45. Jan V

I knew it. I knew you were gonna up the release date. I was thinking November or December. But September?? That’s awesome Kim.
And even though I don’t read early chapters before the book comes out, I will definitely hop on over to Goodreads and put it on my “TBR shelf”.
P.S. I’m also thinking if Ann Arbor is one of your stops on Tour, I won’t have to worry about the snow. Or borrowing a car this time. You should see the smile on my face 🙂

  46. Reblogged this on The Book Affair and commented:
I am so excied and sad at the same time.

  47. It’ s on my to read shelf. I am excited for if, but I am sad that it is coming to an end.

  48. Gail S

Thanks for the awesome news! I’ve already marked my calendar and told Ken we have a road trip in warmer weather and no snow! I’ll know it’s all true when Nicola’s has the book up for pre-order. 😉 I’m sad that the series is ending, but I’ll always be able to visit the Hollows by picking up the books once more. Very excited to meet Peri. This is certainly a very busy year for you & Guy!

  49. not the end!!!!! no!!!!!!!!!!! ive said goodbye to some good series this year but gained some awesome new ones by my favorite writers so I guess it kind of evens out.

  50. Liz M.

On my “to Read” shelf. I was thrilled enough to have a release this year for my 2 favorite book series’, but to have 2 books in one year is just beyond fantastic. So excited!!!

  51. Lexi

I’m soo exicited!! It’s coming out on my birthday!! Best present ever! I can’t wait to hear more about Trent and Rachel ❤ Love them together!

  55. Emily

OHMYGOSH Kim!!!!! This is great news!!! Thanks so much!!! I will say though…it will probably be a bit bittersweet. As happy as I am to see how it all ends it will mean the end of the series 😦

  56. Susan Blakeney

Sooooo excited! Come on September! ! It’s very bittersweet though. …
I have to say that the title intrigues me immensely 😉

  57. Raychell

I really want to read this last book, but there is a part of me that really wants to know what other books you have finished or nearly done that will come after this series. A whole new world for readers to enjoy… mMmmmmM more to read.

  58. Lesley

This is awesome news to start an otherwise icky day! September?! (I was wondering how there could be ARCs out there so soon!)

  59. I have it marked as ‘to-read’ on my Goodreads account. Let’s do this! OMGosh! Thank you so much Kim! You make fandom so much fun!

  60. Jason

    Hi Kim,
With the hollows ending this fall, any idea when the new series will be making its way into our hands? I figured there might be some downtime as everything shifts from Rachel to Peri. Just looking forward to delving into a new world 🙂

    • I’ve intentionally not planned or thought about Peri’s debut, Jason. I don’t want to eclipse Rachel’s last hurrah. But when it happens, it can happen fast. The prep work on my end is as far as I can take it. 🙂 Just waiting now.

  61. Martin

I wondered if this might happen. Congratulations to you and the team.

  62. Magdalena Preciado

Kyaaa!!!! I want to pre-order!!!!!! WHEN???!!!!

  63. Veronica M

I can’t wait! This is my favorite series, I will miss it!

  64. This made my Monday!!! Can hardly wait to get my hands on it.. and here’s hoping we can make the final tour – we missed Atlanta this time due to health and family issues… We really want to make the final Hollows tour!! Bring on the tee shirts and freebies!! Thanks for being awesome, Kim!!

  65. old72jim

Hi Ms Kim I’m sad the books are coming to an end,but glad more are coming. I have all your books on Kindle, currently re-reading DWW. also I can recommend a new author whose books are new and cheap(on Amazon) His name is TWBrown (hats how he writes it) and I can reconnend ie for Hollows withdrawl symptoms. That Ghoul Ava will make you laugh your socks off even while you are rolling on the floor crying your eyes out over no more Hollows

  66. Will the burning bunny be retired at the end of the Hollows series? I never got around to getting a pin, guess I ought to…

  67. Dian Sierra

Added it to my shelf in Goodreads!

  68. kathy

if the new book isn’t released in Canada on the same date, I’m lucky to live 5 minutes from the border, and it’s not far to the nearest Barnes and Noble 🙂

  69. Lori

    Love the name, can’t wAit

  70. Lindsay

Added to my Goodreads list! It was on 1498 to-read lists when I did it, so you’re almost there!

When will your tour dates be announced? I didn’t discover your books until last year, so I have not had a chance to go to an event yet. I’m hoping you’ll make it to Nashville or Louisville this time….

  71. Mariette

I’m shaking with excitement! AMAZING tittle!!!!

  72. Peggy

I love Rachel and crew so much but I am also looking forward to the good things that are in store for them. There are good things in store for them??? I am wanting Rachel Trent progeny (or at least the possibility) and something good for Ivy and Jenks and his fairy friend.
Only thing reconciling me to the end is the promise of the new x

  73. Julie Greatorex

    Added!!

  74. Angela Percival

I would really love it if you could take your book tour to Maine for this final hollow book please. It would be a great treat!

  75. Just added this to my GOODREADS list n placed it in the #1 spot 🙂

  76. Yay! Added to my Goodreads TBR list 😀

  77. Lisa

The ending of this series makes me sad, and I’m going to miss all of the characters…but at the same time I really look foward to what is coming next for you Kim, you are my favorite author!

PS I added to my Goodreads list 🙂

  78. This is awesome!

I’m going to be in Cincinnati in September (maybe) and definitely in October so my kids can go to the Old West Festival again. It’d be really neat to see your Cincinnati visit coincide with one of these dates so I could extend our visit a day or two.

Looking forward to the last book.

  79. Gay E Tomas

Added to my Want to read – actually wish they had a section – MUST READ!!!

  80. Kym

Hey, does this mean that TUP will go to mass release paperback sooner, too? That would be great news, as I’m waiting for that price to drop to add it to my digital collection.

Sounds like another trip to Boston will be in order if you come back there for the final Hollows book tour! My girls will be thrilled!!! 😀

  81. Sharon Barrett

I’m sad to say good-bye to Rachel, but so excited to see what’s next from your author-type brain. Thanks for such wonderful stories from the Hollows.

  82. Liz

Added to my Goodreads list 🙂

  83. Claudia D.

Can’t wait but so very sad that the series is coming to an end.

    • Claudia D.

Should have said “So very sad to see the series come to the end.”. I have it on my to read file on Good reads.

  84. Beth

I can’t tell you how excited I am for a second release this year!! Or how sad I am to leave Rachel’s world. 😦 Thank you, Kim, for 10 wonderful years. I hope you get back up here and not just to Seattle. The BEST day I had had in a while was the day you came to the Base for morale boosting and book signing.

  85. Brenda M

This is great! I was wondering how I was going to hold on until next year! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  86. barbaradesmond

Love this series but I’m sad it is coming to an end.

  87. So excited and sad at the same time! I have so many hopes for the whole gang! Any chance you’ll make it to the Dallas / Ft. Worth area on tour this time? Please?

  88. Rachel

Bittersweet because the series is ending but the best birthday present ever!!!

  89. Laura Boyer

Fantastic! I’ll just be home from vacation. I will be relaxing in my “do not disturb” chair with the Witch with no name. Woe to the person that asks me to do something for them..
Its been a great ride, and I will be one of the first to read anything you publish.

  90. Diana S.

I’m gonna miss Rachel so much. 😦
Thank you for this wonderful series, Kim. You’re awesome.

  91. Julia Hall

OMG. I’m not ready for this series to end!!!!!!!! Please tell me there will be short stories or revisits later on!!?!?!

  92. Any idea when Amazon and all will have it up for Pre-Order?

    • It should pop up today, maybe tomorrow?

    • inkie

It was already up on The Book Depository before you announced it, which is how I found out. I kept my mouth shut, but I’m sure plenty of other people would’ve seen it, too.
Since Amazon own The Book Depository, they can’t be far behind.

  93. Lynn

I’m sad to see Rachel come to end, however I am over the moon to have two KH books out in one year! I love Rachel!! I re-read the entire series every year to get ready f0r the next book. Now I have an excuse to read them again;) Congrats on such an amazing series!

  94. Megan B.

I’m so happy that I only have to wait for September! I wonder if I can reread the series again before then. I added Witch With No Name to my “want to read” list on Goodreads. I want to read that first chapter!

  95. What a year!!! Can’t wait to see you Sept again! 😀

  96. Holy crap you guys better get caught up. Final book comes out Sept 9th 2014.

  97. Joelle Wilson

Yay! that it comes out in September, sniffles that it is the last in the series.

  98. Sara

Auw that sucks!!! Do you think us Canadian fans can order through Nicola’s??

  99. It is bittersweet for me. I love the Hollows and seriously, every time we go to Cincinnati, i look for gargoyles and pixies 🙂 And Also, can i just say that i love Jessica’s comment starting with Hot Dog! My grandpa says that when he’s excited about something. Glad to see that phrase is making a comeback:)

    • Kym

Your post made me realize that I will be taking my first trip to Cinci this August… just weeks before the final release! I will keep my eyes peeled for Rachel & company. I’ll let you know if I see any! 😉

  100. Mendi in STL

    Heyde Hey Kim!
What! I was hoping for more time to prepare for “the end” but I guess you just gotta rip that bandage off, no words. It’s been an awesome ride and I’m proud to say I was there from the almost start, book 3 counts right?! Thank you!

    • Kym

I’ve got to agree with you, Mendi. I wouldn’t mind waiting a bit longer… I never did finish the last read-along; just skipped right over to TUP. Of course, I’ll be reading the last one as soon as I can get my eyes on it! 🙂

    • 🙂 I think you’re going to like the end. Happy stuff. Always end it happy.

  101. Janice A.

I Hate rushing summer, but Sept. 9th can’t get here fast enough. I’ll be sorry for Rachel’s story to end, but look forward to Peri’s beginning.

  102. Oh Yeah I Can’t wait!!!!!!!! ❤

  103. Sara

So super excited for this book!!! Will it be released in Canada on the same date??? And will you be putting the cover art up soon???
    Love this series!!!

    • I doubt very much that it will be released in Canada on the same date, Sara. e-book, maybe? Hard to know.
Cover art will be released next week over the course of some give-aways.

  104. Dawn Collins

Sad to see it end! Coming out in September will be bitter sweet because I want to read it yet I don’t want it to end! I added it to my trb. Congrats and I am excited for the next adventure as well!

  105. Dominique Z

Congrats Kim! I’m so very excited/sad at the same time. Hopefully, I’ll see you in September!

  106. Fantastic…when does is release in the UK??

    • Becky

It’s showing up on UK Amazon already for September release.

    • AndrewIslay

They will probably do their usual – show it as available in September and then send you an email in August to say that it is now not available until next March. I’ll do as I have for the last 2 books and order it through Nicola’s

    • Please don’t trust that UK date. They change it ever time, and it’s frustrating. Just hang in there. There’s a lot of stuff going on in the background that I am not aware of or have control over. Sorry.

  107. Carey

Miss, Kim, congratulations on the last book. I’m excited about the early release and can’t wait to see how it all ends in The Hollows.

  108. Done! On my TBR list. Still working my way through The Outlaw Demon Wails, but I can’t wait to see how everything ends!

  109. Amy Anderson

THIS YEAR!!!!!!! If I wasn’t already at work…I’d burst out in tears of joy!!! WAHOO! Grrreat Title!
