Week 7 ARC giveaway. Who is Rachel greater threat? Nick, or Piscary?

***** UPDATE 5/25/21 ***** We have a winner for the seventh of ten ARC giveaways. Hazel G. was lucky number 564 out of nearly eight hundred entries, and she has already e-mailed me back to claim her ARC and freebie! Come back Friday for a new question to answer to enter the next giveaway! Congratulations, Hazel! And thank you everyone who played along.

We are three weeks out from Million Dollar Demon’s release: are you ready? I’m almost there, and I can’t wait to see you at my three live events scheduled for the 15, 16, and 17. If you want to attend, get your invite now! (direct links at the website) Space is limited. And…if you have been waiting to preorder, the window for at/near drop date at Nicolas is closing. I’ll be personalizing MMDs until after release date, but if you want a chance of getting this bad boy on or near the drop date, you have to order NOW! We’re looking at a lot of books, and though their shipping is top-notch, that’s a lot of books to process in a day or two to reach you at or near the drop date. First come, first served.

The winning ARCS are going out immediately, though. I’ve got three left, one for each week to the release date. This week, I want to know who you think is/was the more dangerous threat to Rachel. Is it the lethal master vampire Piscary who wants to see her dead at Ivy’s hand? Or is it poor, helpless, human Nick?

And because I like giving things away, if you email Tim your answer, you will be in the flash-giveaway for the next  ARC of Million Dollar Demon.  Want to enter? Here’s how this week!

Using an email you have access to for the next five days, email Tim at <coldtoastwritingsllc@comcast.net>  Put “Rachel’s True Threat” in the subject line so we know you’re entering the contest. In the email, tell me who you think Rachel’s greater threat is/was. Tell me why you think so here and FB to help boost shares. One entry per household please.

I will cut off entries at midnight, PST on Monday, May 24. I will announce the winner on Tuesday morning, AND email them for the address they want me to mail the ARC to as well as find out if and how they want me to sign it.  Winners will have until the coming Thursday midnight to get back to me to claim the ARC and tell me their mailing address. If I don’t hear from you by Thursday midnight, the ARC goes back in the pool and I will give away two next week.

Out of the U.S? You can still enter. ARCs have no cash value, though they may get held up in customs forever. Books will go out UPS or USPS, whatever is best. Chance of winning depends upon how many enter. Winners will be chosen by a random number generator, and I can’t be responsible for mail that goes astray.

That’s it. But do come back next Friday to enter again with a new question.

This is an extremely limited ARC print run due to covid, and I’m so thankful to have them to give out to you.

Good luck!

P.S. My local store, Nicolas, is the only outlet for personalized books this tour. I’ll be going in soon to begin to personalize these so they can be shipped out to land right around the drop date. If you want to snag one of these bad boys, don’t wait to the last minute or it will delay your ship date. Nicolas will ship overseas, but email them first for a shipping quote. (Follow the link below.)

Nicolas also has signed mass markets of AMERICAN DEMON along with most of the other back titles. Mysterious Galaxy, Murder by the Book, and University bookstore will have beautiful, signed book plates as well as a limited number of freebies. (Which you can still mail me a SASE for.)

Out of Nick or Piscary? I’d say Nick.

  2. Agenda or no, Piscary is the more threating of the two. Rachel wants good things for Nick, sure. But I never thought her to be so naïve as to lower guard enough around Nick to allow him to kill her.
Piscary, I believe, is far more powerful. And the fact that he wants her dead (regardless of Ivy) makes him the more threatening of the two.

Nick was always Rachel’s greatest threat. She knew to be careful with piscary from the start. Nick blindsided her over and over. And the fact that he was a human always made her hesitate in giving him a final ending.

  4. Sherry

I believe Rachel’s biggest threat is Nick. She’s always weary of Piscary but she’s left her guard down a few times with Nick. Nick is all about himself.

  5. Tanya Flanagan

Herself! She is her own worst enemy

  6. Katherine Knott

Nick is the greater threat to Rachel. While Piscary wants Rachel dead he knows, ultimately if he kills her, he will lose his favorite potential scion. Nick is Rachel’s weakness. She wants to see the good in him (and let’s face it, enjoys a bit of the bad in him) and so she warily believes him to her detriment and near death time and time again.

Nick. Definitely Nick. Piscary was more physically dangerous, but you can account for that easily. Nick sold her out multiple times, right up until the end.

Nick was the least worthy, and the one I disliked the most. He was “that” nasty guy who just didn’t get it…

  9. Julie Pickett

Most definitely Nick, she was able to see what Piscary was but not Nick due to her feelings for him.

  10. Erica Lavery

This is a tough one. I am going to say Nick. She trusted him for a while and he proved capable of manipulating her. He was also a survivor. Like a bad penny he kept showing up. Rachel always knew Piscary was dangerous and treated him accordingly, as a potential threat. Nick was a threat you didn’t quite see coming. That us the reason Nick was more of a threat.

  11. Trish collins

Nick, love blinds us to a fault. Piscary always had the same agenda, Nick was swayed at turn of shiny dime and Rachel’s love for him blinded her to his true nature. Nick loved money, equating it to the safety he missed in his childhood, and nothing not even his own soul was worth more to him

  12. Jessica Ramoutar

    Crap on toast Nick 🤮
