It’s a day of twelve

It’s a day of twelve! First, Barnes and Noble have come out with a list of 12 most anticipated Sci-fi and fantasy list for 2014, and I’m delighted six ways from Sunday that The Undead Pool is on it. The publication date is closing in now, and I’m starting my prep in a big way even as the read-along finishes up the last couple of books. Go and check out the list as it’s a fabulous way to find a new author or series you might not have heard about.

The second list of twelve I find my work on today is Harper’s own Twelve New Reads for The New Year, which might have a few authors you’re familiar with, or even books you’ve read, but they are all on sale for the rest of the month. (U.S. ebook markets) They’re featuring Black Magic Sanction, which is the book we’re just finishing up in the read-along.

Vicki Petterson and Jocelynn Drake both have books here, two of my fav authors.

12inchesAnd on a more personal note, here’s my personal 12 for the year. Most of it’s gone now and we’re left with crusty stiffness that you could almost walk on, but it was nice while it lasted. (Okay, okay, I’m not that hard core. I’m glad it’s gone . . .)

I checked several times, and the comments here were also numbered at twelve. I wasn’t going to spoil the irony by pointing it out, and changing the comment count, but someone else has, so the irony is ruined. Oh well….

    Congratulations, Kim! You deserve it.

I am thrilled that others know what an amazing writer you are! Although I am looking forward to reading the Undead Pool, I can tell you that the reread has been a much needed distraction! I am in the midst of the WV water contamination. After long days of obtaining water for self, neighbors and friends, I looked forward to spending time in Rachel’s world. So, thank you.

  4. I’m so happy to see The Undead Pool on the list! I am so looking forward to reading it! February 25th is coming fast enough!!!

Has anyone seen Bitten on SYFY? It’s based on Kelly Armstrong’s book. I was caught off guard and was not expecting it. It was a pretty good adaptation I think. Now if they’d just give the Hollows a shot.

Granted they did sorta screw up the Dresden Files but maybe they learned their lesson. šŸ™‚

      i love syfy so much

Drat, I forgot about it. I will have to tune in, but I don’t have much faith in Syfy. To say they screwed up the Dresden Files is putting it mildly IMO. A hockey stick instead of Harry’s staff? And that was just one thing. But, I liked the casting of Harry, I thought he was great in the role.

Hi Ms. Kim I have The Undead Pool on pre-order since I promised it to Smudge for her 18th birthday, which is Feb 1st

    • SquidgeWA (aka JKH)

Truly a significant event for Madame Smudge! None of our cats have lived much beyond 15 years. A cake of liver pate for our birthday girl!

  7. It’s a good feeling to be appreciated. But even more so, what you do is anticipated. Well done, KH.

    • Oh! I almost forgot!

I couldn’t get to Cincinnati last year, but I’ll be able to this year for sure! Making it a family getaway with a visit to the Aquarium and catch-up with a few friends up there too. My son will be blown away! A Star Wars birthday on Sunday AND a 3 day vacation from school! I don’t know if I should tell my kids or just drop the bomb day of? LOL!

  8. Eagerly awaiting you, Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson and Brent Weeks. šŸ˜€

Congrats on making the lists o’ twelve! So excited for The Undead Pool! Your February book releases have become a personal holiday of sorts for me. An intriguing, vibrant, page-turning, obsessive holiday! A delicious indulgence of light in the middle of Winter. Have I mentioned the excited part? šŸ˜Š

I don’t see why it wouldn’t be on that list! It is the one thing I look forward to every year with out a doubt. My friends and I always make our annual trip from the Chicago area to come to one of your signings! We can’t wait for this years book and signing! Rock on Kim!
