Ever After cover reveal

Finally, after what seems like forever!  (smile)  The cover for Ever After, book eleven in the Hollows series.

Sometimes, it all comes together.  Wow.  I’m so pleased to be able to share this awesome cover with you guys.  I always like my covers, but some of them stand out as exceptional, and this is one of my favorites if not my number one.  🙂

  1. Awesome Cover! Can’t wait to read it. I re-read Dead Witch Walking last week and was gladly reminded about how far Rachel’s character has come and how much she has grown 🙂

Beautiful cover, but why is Rachel so blond? She’s gone from bright cherry red (Dead Witch Walking) to almost platinum blond. Maybe that’s not Rachel? Or maybe she has the Rogue (X-Men) effect going on..? She looks great, but I was just wondering why the change 🙂

It’s been said above… Where’s the red curly hair? That’s such a big part of how you describe Rachel in the novels that I’m disappointed she’s not sporting it here.

    • Anthony N. Emmel

Well, Rachel frequently wears a charm to counter her “frizziness.” As for teh color, I’d guess it’s either the lighting or she wearing her anti-freckle charm which also might lighten her hair (to make her less ginger).

Hi Kim, I love the cover for Ever After, its truly bad ass. So to say, I suppose. I was reading your answer about why the covers don’t show Rachel with curly hair. I guess I can understand that. My question is why is her hair always look blonde? I’m not sure if you say because blondes sell I would be able to believe that. If anything I would think red heads sell. I mean as far as your books go. I’m a natural red head and I’ve changed the color from time to time. I always go back to the auburn red. I must say everyone I’ve ever talked to says they prefer red hair on any woman anyday.

  6. Love the cover missing the wild red hair which is so Rachel. Perfect Blood is my fav cover.

Hi Kim! I LOVE this cover. I have to agree with Smash Attack, it’s FIERCE! Happy Writing! 🙂

  11. Hi Ms. Kim I love the cover! So glad I have every thing on pre-order.I won’r get the cover(Its on Kondle) but I’ll get the book.

  12. ~Lynn from Haverhill

Loving the cover. I really like how it shows her power. Also, it shows what her hair typically does when using magic. :o)

As a person with naturally curly — really curly — auburn hair (well, once it was auburn), and understanding the trends of cover and graphic artists to make all women look like Barbie dolls, I can make my peace with the “Rachel” figure they come up with. I tolerate it, but I don’t very much like it. The composition and the lightning are terrific, and the over-all redness will make the cover jump out at the reader from the bookstore shelves.

I’m getting chills….So awesome! I’m so excited for this book! (Do we have a synopsis yet?)

  15. Oh my gosh, it´s awesome!! =) can´t wait til i hold one in my own hands *grabby hands*

    best wishes, Linda

Very cool. Though Rachel’s hair isn’t quiet as curly/wavy as I expected, I can overlook the apparent blonde-ness of it as it looks like the Ever After is sucking the color out of everything (it seems like she might be wearing jeans but the color is fading; pretty cool)

  17. Rachel meets the dark side of the Force and masters Lightning.
    Someone’s gonna get hurt. I can’t wait.

  18. Anthony N. Emmel

I love it. I especially like the fact that the background is indistinct and teh focus is on Rachel.

  19. Linda Lou

That is awesomely cool!! Love the color. It’s definitely my fav, with Pale Demon a close 2nd.
Maybe Rachel finally found a way to straighten her hair that turned it a different color -hee-hee.
Sure wouldn’t wanta make her mad!

  20. mari

I love this cover. I like the cover model, and like how we have been able to see her face in the past few covers. I even overlook the lack of curly hair. 🙂 This makes me wish the book were out now.

  21. Kristine

Is that really Rachel? She looks blonde on this cover…. not a redhead….

  22. I love it! What a fab cover!

    ~Suzi (and Missy, too)

  23. Love the cover, and I was so excited to see a description of it at good reads. Cannot Wait! (Jumping up and down clapping). 🙂

  24. Vampyre

    I like thye cover for 2 main reasons;

It’s showing us a very powerful looking Rachel.

There are no mystery men lurking behind her, it here and all her.

    • Vampyre

thye(?)=the. Stupid spell checker. I guess ‘spell checker’ takes on a new meaning in Rachel’s world 🙂

  25. Love it! She looks so fierce! I wouldn’t cross her! I picture Rachel’s hair a deeper shade of red, seems more strawberry blonde on the cover. Looks like I’m not the only one who feels that way.

    Can’t wait!!!!

  26. James

Good Morning Kim, Can’t wait till the next book is out!! As far as the cover goes Hmmmm It’s nice but I don’t see Rachel at all. Sorry. I want RED curly hair. BTW: Best book cover….. Pale Demon!!

  27. This cover is pretty awesome. 😉 I’ve loved all the covers although I’m still a bit partial to DWW, maybe because it was the first. Waiting is the hard part. Even with a early drop date I’m still anxious like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. LOL This cover will look amazing as a screen saver. 🙂

  28. Shanda

Crap on toast for real Kim!!! 4 MONTHS IS TOO LONG hehe

  30. Great cover. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book. The cover and blurb are up on Goodreads. I hate waiting. I hope that there is a lot of Al in this one!

  31. Martin

The cover is awesome. The book blurb is awesome. I know the story will be awesome. I predict Ku Sox will get his butt kicked.

  32. Wow this cover is exceptional. Can you explain how cover art/design is chosen for your books? I remember when the men on the boards loved Pale Demon and wanted to know how she was picked or was she computer drawn because the men all loved her.
Your weekly writing to all of us is fantastic, I so love to get the email alerts.

  33. I love the cover! I wish she was a red head so bad. I think that’s why A Perfect Blood is my favorite cover. I still love this cover a lot though 🙂 Can’t wait to read it! I’ve been itching for another suspenseful story by you!

  34. Diva

    Love it! You go, Rachel!

The book blurb is also up at Amazon and Goodreads. I’m guessing it’s the official one and if so, I can’t wait to read this one. 😉

  35. What a perfect birthday present for me! Outstanding cover, though I miss Rachel’s wild red hair.

  36. NickinColoma

You are right Ms Kim—possibly coolest cover ever.—NickinColoma
PS thanks for the books–i love the “english” version of Good,Bad,Undead”

  37. Luv the cover, but miss Rachel’s wild red hair! BTW, does the pushed forward release date mean that your publishers are trying to get you away from what seems to be the annual competition between you and Nora Roberts for #1 on the NYT Best Sellers list? If so, I hope it works because you and Rachel deserve it!

  38. Melissa

    Hi Kim!
I love it too! Thanks for sharing! I hope you have a great day! 🙂

  39. Kelly

I love the new cover art. It is great. I curious to know which is your favorite one 🙂

  40. Smash Attack

The past few covers have just been magnificent. I truly love the pure power this one represents. FIERCE!

  41. Danielle

    Love the cover :))
