I’m doing the 2-step.

Good news!  It is Thursday, which means yesterday was Wednesday, which means I found out where Pale Demon placed on the NY Times list!

Because of all your frantic reading in the first week of sales, you pushed Pale Demon to the number 2 spot on the NY Times Hardcover list!

We also hit 2 on the combined print list of HC and paperback
7 on USA Today
7 for e-book
and 4 for combined print and ebook sales.

Thanks, guys!  You made it happen!

    Congratulations!

    WooHoo!

Now, if we could just convince J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts not to publish a book EVERY month you would have been number one! (seriously! The woman is an industry unto herself*grin* Does she ever take a vacation?).

    Congrats!

  3. Diane

Congrats Kim – so well deserved! Its too bad audio book sales don’t count towards these numbers. Your writing and Marguerite’s narration make for a most amazing 18 hours of listening…..well 25 hours at this point since I’m on my second listen!

  4. Jenn

Congrats Kim! That is so very amazing! And very deserved. I can just picture Guy doing the 2 step with you!

  5. Clay(UK)

Congratulations, Kim! It is well deserved. Pale Demon is one of the best Hollows books so far! I had a blast reading it, as I do with every Hollows book, and I can’t wait for BloodWork and The Hollows Insider to come out! 🙂

  8. Tiffany

Congrats Kim!!! These ranking are well deserved. I finshed reading Pale Demon last week and I am with the masses when I say this is my favorite of the Hollows series. I had such high expectations while I was waiting for Pale Demon to come out and you completely exceeded them. Thanks for another great book!

  13. Laura Broome

That’s awesome! Your books are THE BEST. Do they take Kindle sales into account, or is it just hardcover? I bought the Kindle version last Saturday. At that point, it was posted as the #36 bestseller on Kindle.

    • Thanks, Laura! Kindle sales are taken into account on some of the lists, yes. There’s like six lists out there now, and Pale Demon is doing well on all of them.

  14. Congratulations, Kim! You deserve it!

  15. Maryellen

    Hey Kim congratulations!

I was so hoping to meet you and Guy in Tulsa Friday night but I just got off the phone with the store your going to be at and they told me they are expecting a very large crowd (which is good for you!🙂 Bad for me) They are going to start handing out wrist bands at 9am but to get one you have to buy Pale Demon there and have the receipt. well i don’t live in Tulsa and the town I bought Pale Demon does not have a Barnes and Noble store. I live not far from Kansas so the husband was going to take me to the book signing, he does not want me that far alone at night and in Tulsa. (Hey I’m old and don’t do tulsa at night! LOL) but the woman on the phone told me the people with bracelets see you first then the “others” (with out the wrist bands) get to see you IF there is still time. SO I recon I’m not going to get to meet you guys. which ticks me off big time! I have been looking forward to meeting you for years.
I do have to say I have been trying to decide which e-book reader I’m going to get and after that phone call I just decided on a Kindle!

Are we getting any more of the Gazettes?
Be safe during your tour and again Congratulations!

    Pam from Oklahoma🙂

    • Hi Pam. I’m so sorry this has become so stressful for you. I’m expecting that I will get through everyone–everyone– in the span of two hours. I hope to see you there, but if not, I understand. I don’t drive much, either.

Good luck with the Kindle! I’ve signed quite a few of them.
Gazettes are kind of hard to get out because Guy has been busy.

  19. Terri

Congrats. We all need to push you to number ONE.

    Keep up the great work.

  20. Candace

CONGRATULATIONS! That is pretty fantastic and you definitely deserve it!

  21. Jenny

Congrats Kim!🙂 I completely agree though that it’s your writing ability that got you there. That’s why we love reading your books and short stories.

  22. Awesome, Kim!

  25. So happy, happy, happy for you. You are the best. My Granddaughter, Nicole finished the whole book in one day, I savored mine for five. Good job and the world knows it. You are the best. Brenda and Nicole

  26. Amy

Wow #2!!! I’m super excited for you! Congrats! Hmmm….if I’m recalling right when I started reading the series they didn’t come out in hardcopy only paperback right?

  27. Marsha

Excellent news. Congratulations on the well deserved reward for your hard work.

  28. hellokitty654

yay! i got the book yesterday and finished it today🙂 thanks kim for the great book!

  29. JanisHarrison

Dear Kim: (1) I am amazed at your output. FOUR publications in one year–and none of them is a skinny “fluff” piece. (2) I am astounded, and forever thankful, that you blog with your readers–especially when On Tour, which is so disorienting and fatiguing. (3) I absolutely love all your books, which is something I’m repeating again and again, redundantly…Seattle Public Libraries bought only 12 copies of PD (budget issues) and I’m #13 on the list, so it will be at least another 3 weeks before I get my chance at it. It’s such a long, hard wait.

    • Thanks, Janis! It’s been a hard year, but it’s all paying off.
Thank you also for your words on keeping up with you guys. It’s hard, but you’re worth it.
And I’m so glad you are enjoying the work, and I hope you get your copy soon.

  30. Cathy

Actually Kim…your talent made it happen and that is why you have such devoted fans. Keep em coming and we will keep on buying!

  31. Sue, Chicago

Hey Kim! Congrats on your placements! You totally deserve it! One question, is this the highest you have ever placed on the lists? If so, then we definitely have a goal for the next book! NUMBER ONE!

  32. Oh! I watched the live fed from Joseph Booksellers. That was the first live streamed event I’ve ever attended. Thanks for answering my question about which book you were currently working on:) And no, I didn’t expect you to tell me anything. That would just ruin the fun:)

  33. Awesome! Love it when a plan comes together. You deserve it!

  34. Jer

Kim, you worked very hard for us Hollow junkies and you deserve it:)
I hope we help you get to the #1 spot, after all, you are awesome!

  35. CONGRATS! So brilliant and I’m personally eating this book up. So. Fun.

  36. Chelikins

Awesome but not surprising at all. You rock Kim!!

  37. Nancy H

Awesome! Congratulations, you earned it! We just reap the benefits of your wonderful writing ability.

  38. Dominique

    You deserve it!

  39. Melissa
