Stocking Stuffers

To help promote the upcoming Pale Demon release, my publisher has made available the entire text of The Good, The Bad, and The Undead at a temporarily reduced rate and containing an early excerpt from Pale Demon.Β If you have someone you’ve been trying to get hooked on the Hollows, this might be a good way! Β (I’m not a big e-reader, but I might pick one up for easy reference.)

So, for you Kindle readers: Kindle edition
Nook: Nook edition
Sony: Sony edition
And for all you perpetual six graders out there, I’ve got Jenks’s Pixy Christmas for you!

On the 12 day of Christmas, my true love gave to me . . .
12 Humans Hiding,
11 Tinks a Tinkling
10 Porno flicks
9 Pole Dancers
8 Pixies Partying
7 Karma Sutras
6 Fairies Farting
5 Trolls in Drag
4 Purple Condoms
3 French Ticklers
2 Horny Vamps
And a Sucubus in the Snow

I am so hoping that Pale Demon will be available here is Australia at the same time as in the US, can’t wait to read it!

    • Hi Shelley. My gut instinct is saying it’s going to be a few months after the US release, but with the new, close tie that Eos has, it might be sooner? I just don’t know. I hope you like it!

#31 on my ebook wishlist! Huzzah! I’m using the ebook to expand my reading shelves b/c it gives me recommendations. I’ve also got Stray on there, and Blood Law (the cover of which SO makes me think of Rachel.) I can’t wait to find a new series to sink my teeth into. I just caught up to the Dresden Files after reading the Zodiac series, so now I’m ready to get to something new!

    Anyone have some suggestions?

I think I like Jenks’ version of the song better πŸ˜‰ Hey the link to the first chapter isn’t working. It keeps saying “Coming late 2010.” Maybe it’s just me? Anyways, have a happy holidays. I’m spending mine re-reading the series πŸ˜€

    • Hi Kari. Your machine is pulling up an old version of the page stored on your computer. If you have a mac, try emptying the cache, which is under the safari menu. There’s a way to do the same on a PC, but I’m not sure how.

I love my ” enhanced edition” copy of BMS. The features are awesome- especially how i can read it as an ebook, put my ipod touch on the doc in my car and listen to a few chapters as an audio book as i drive to work

I really appreciate the extra time Kim put in for the interviews and commentary!
Will Pale Demon be available thru “enhanced editions” as well? Please?

  5. Kaylee

Well I would just like to wish everyone a happy solstice. Just as the characters in the Hollows, we need to party! πŸ˜€ Too bad the storm covered the lunar eclipse here. I wonder what would have happened? Pray for more snow and no more ice!

Was just finally able to preorder PD on the Nook today. Whew! Was starting to get nervous they weren’t going to have it as a preorder.

  7. Marguerite

We just added up all the B&N gift certificates that we have amassed and realized we had enough for a Nook, so we’re now E-readers! I love books but I adore being able to download a book and start reading it instantly.
BTW, I thought you should know that when I went to pre-order Pale Demon, there was no “Overview.” It just said “No information available.” Perhaps you’ll want to get that changed before much more time goes by.

  8. Well, I ordered my kindle copy a month and a half ago and it was finally whispered over to me today. SUPER STOKED for the Pale Demon excerpt. Now to just get those sticklers to drop the price on the rest of the series to $1.99 for kindle download and I can have 3 copies of the series! I originally got it in MMPB and have almost destroyed those reading them, then got FFOC in HC on release day and have got all of the rest of them in HC (Just because my series books have to match) and now I have this one on kindle, so you KNOW I have to get the rest on it as well, just for symmetry of the series. Congratulations, Kim! Can’t wait to read the whole darn thing!

    • πŸ™‚ I hear what you’re saying, Heather. DWW was free last year, and this year GBU is reduced, so if you’re patient . . . you never know.

I’m glad you’re enjoying them so much. Thank you!

    Hey Kim,
There is a site to vote on book series worth re-reading:

Other authors listed are Kelley Armstrong, Charlaine Harris, Jeaniene Frost, and Richelle Mead.

Crap on Toast! I had just bought this one on kindle for my BFF I am getting her into Rachel and pals. She is always so busy, but I am waiting for the day she calls me and asks “sooo whens the next book coming out?” πŸ™‚

    Heyde Hey Kim!

Just got a Nook for Christmas from my wonderful in-laws and I’m loving it! Especially since I downloaded Dead Witching Walking to my B&N account last year when it was free, then today I got up and it let me know my pre-order of TGBU was ready! Whoohoo! I really enjoyed the iPhone app for BMS last year, if your publisher could produce a rich media bundle at a reduced price (over buying them all individually) that would be incredible.

  12. Ah. The best christmas present. πŸ™‚

But leaving the city is hart for her, right? Leaving her master vampire.

Oh God. I can’t wait for next week and the release date.
    Thanks again, Miss.

I am forever ruined! I will never be able to sing or listen to the original without giggling like crazy!

  14. I’m with vampyre. My nook is fabulous but will never ever replace my hard copies. Holding a real book is a complete sensory experience. But speaking as the ‘family packmule’, I not only keep at least two books in my handbag at all times, snacks, wallet, blackberry, coupon folder, splat gun, etc. but all the random accoutrements that my husband and son refuse to put in their pockets (no matter how many times I threaten them with a man purse if they don’t stop). Now I can leave my precious abused hard copies at home and save on wear and tear. Oh, and huge benefit to an eReader! Everywhere I go, someone always stops and asks me if I like my nook. And I gladly explain why I love it for ‘on the go’ and point out my collection of Kim Harrison books that I refuse to travel without.

  15. Vampyre

    Howdy ma’am,

You know how I feel about e readers. I’m very happy about the limited time offer for “The Good, The Bad, and The Undead”. I plan to have all of your books on my Kindle even though I have them all in paper back until the started coming out in hard bound.

I highly recommend e readers ti anyone that is a voracious reader, Remember they are just a device. Just because I own a Kindle doesn’t mean I can’ buy or read a conventional book.

Books will always have one advantage over e books. They never need recharging. πŸ™‚

    • Gail S

I totally agree with you! I love my HB’s and PB’s, but my Kindle does need recharging:-) Nothing will replace the printed book. E-readers are just an another form to make it easier ( also might lighter) to take numerous books with you when you’re on the move.

    • Very cool, Vampy. A good, solid outlook on them.

  16. Frederique

I just started my reread of the Hollows series. That first chapter teaser made me need my Hollows fix πŸ™‚

I don’t have an e-reader so I guess I’m out of luck but I’m cheered up by Jenks 12 days of Christmas *giggles like a school girl*

    • Frederique

Oh I just now got the email from Harper about the first chapter lol. A little late but what can you do.

    • Hi Frederique. Excellent. I’m glad you liked it! And I’m not ever going to think too hard on Harper about the late newsletter. I’ve watched Guy sweat and swear over putting out ours, and I know what a pain in the butt they are.

  17. Indy

  20. Candace

  24. mudepoz

You are so wonderful! Jenks will always a favorite holiday character, right up there with Snoopy! Happy solstice, there will be light!
Can you imagine the chaos last night? Vampires were howling, unable to get to the blood red moon, the weres were confused by the full moon getting unfull, and all was chaos.
