Something fun today!

I know a lot of you have been asking for Hollows wallpapers, and this year, my publisher has put a couple of really nice ones together using the cover artwork.  They are free for your own use, so enjoy!

I have them up at the website so I don’t clog things up here, but here is a sample.  Click to get to the real ones.

Hey Kim, I just wanted to let you know that Firefox 3.6 has a theme for the Hallows. I thought that was pretty cool. I was listed under films/tv. :)Can’t wait for Black Magic Sanction!

  2. Kelly

Hi Kim!! I love this wallpaper. As soon as I saw it I switched out my old one. I can’t wait to read your new book. I’ve been rereading all of your previous ones lately to freshen up for the next!
I also hope to make it out to your book signing in Ann Arbor. : )

  3. Pretty very nice picture 😛
    Thanks for sharing.
    I’ll keep reading your blog.

Judi: WICKED is one of my favorite plays!
And seeing as some of the characters share some traits with Rachel, I’d say the nothing fits in well here *grin*.

Saw WICKED last night with my BFF…2 moms out for a nice Italian dinner in NYC then a fabulous show…I’m not ashamed to say I bawled all the way through!!! Woot!! This has nothing to do with anything…just sharing! Hee hee! 🙂

They did to me what they did to Kylie. Said my comments are “awaiting moderation” 😦 What’s that mean?
@Antonio, Not no goober either, well jury’s still out on that one … Gravatar’s making me wait, too!

    • Antonio Rich

I think it might be happening if you changed your name…Did the Gravatar site say there is “already” a Phil? That’s you! You should still be able to use your old name w/new gravatar. I’m just guessing that’s the problem(ie Kim has to approve new people to site)

    • Kylie Ru

I just logged out. It seems to still keep my avatar, though.

    • I’m not sure what’s going on, but if you try to post with a new email, it will treat you as a new poster and you’ll need moderation the first time round. It surprised me when you popped in the que. It’s working now?

  10. Hey Ms. Harrison,
Nice wall paper! In the spirit of things, I’ve changed mine, lol. Lady Godiva can take a rest from her horse for a bit.
Had an interesting day. I got what I gave at the resturant when my fellow waiters spiced my stirfry (left unattended in a moment of not thinking) with jalepeno chillies. I think that it’s payback for all the times I put salt in their coffee, told them they have tables that don’t exist and orders that’s not on the menu (always great to see a newbie searching for crabstick souvlaki…). I’ve also been writing (and even blogging!) again which, when I post this chapter that i’m working on, will push my word count up to more than 600K on the site where I post.
I’m pretty pleased with myself so for that I suggest we all move to Piscary’s to celebrate. First round’s on me.

Hope you had a good day!

  11. Hey Kim, since the cups were removed from the creator (and I didn’t get one, sniff) will we ever be able to buy Ivy’s cup somewhere? have a great weekend! aimée

    • Hi, Amy. Guy is working them up. He had a bit of a set-back this year, but is moving forward on it again. He wants them to be special, and it’s hard to find what he wants and still have it be cheap enough to make it accessable to everyone. Six months at the earliest.

  12. Oh! Thanks! I had some cute Pon & Zi comics by Azuzephre as my desktop (if you don’t know them, I suggest you Google it. They are simple and, in my opinion, very romantico-sad cute.)

    Time to change it up!

  13. Marsha

No Mud today? I hope all is well. Thanks for the wallpaper, Kim. Do you think it is acceptable to take the image of the gargole and use it as an avatar? I’m not sure that would actually be legal.

    • Hi, Marsha. I hope she’s okay, too.

I think you could get away with it, since you’re not going to make any money off it. Technically you probalby can’t, but this is a big gray area, and I’m guessing no one will say “boo”.

  14. Well, it’s too bad that there are not some higher resolution widescreen versions of this wallpaper, but it’s great nonetheless! I’m quite excited to be getting back into the Hollows.

My computer is all dark and spooky now.

Gnaaa, too small for my background 😦 stupid laptop is too wide…and my resolution too large anyway.
    But it’s really great feature!
Aand I preordered Black Magic Sanction yesterday – hoping that amazon will find me at Hamburg, where I will spend the next 6 Months, where my name is not written on the mailbox (since I’ll stay as long as the usual inhabitant is in Denmark, without the landlord knowing of the exchange ^^°)…
Maybe I’ll look for a bookstore in Hamburg to preorder it for me just to be sure I have it in time.

    • Scott S, Clovis CA

If you’re running Windows, right-click on the desktop and click on properties, then select the desktop tab, then set the “position” choice to “stretch”. The wallpaper may end up a tad distorted, but at least you’ll have it.

    • I’m sorry, Frotee! Maybe you can tweak it to fit. Ooooh, you’re in Denmark? I do believe the books are translated into Dutch, but I don’t know how many. 😉

    • Frotee

Ah, its not me who’s in Denmark, but the girl whose apartment I’m renting for the next 6 months is 😉
See, I’m doing an intern at a fairly large German publisher who is located in Hamburg, which is a city in the north of Germany, while I usually live in Kassel, which is right in the middle of Germany. Since it would take too long to cover the distance by train every morning and evening (and way too expensive), I rent a flat in Hamburg. However, it would be annoying if I had to furnish an apartment which I’ll only inhabit for 6 months, so I looked for a place which would only be vacated for said time, hoping that the owner would live his or her furnishings behind.
      And I was lucky 🙂
This flat is usually rented by another student who will be in Denmark for 6 months, and who is therefore happy that I’ll watch over the apartment (and pay the rent) while she is away.

and I read your books in the original language, anyway 😉 (As I do with all english books)

An hints on what the new project might be about, by the way? *referring to your Friday post*

    • Ahhh, no hints. It’s way too soon. I’ve not written a word of it, and don’t know when I will.

  18. Joy

Thanks for the wall paper! So as I was perusing the B&N website I of course had to look up Black Magic Sanction (which was preordered with my Christmas gift certificate) and came across something unusual. One of the options was the book and a toy. I tried to find out what the “toy” was (and I must admit I had some…inappropriate guesses) but I could not find out what it was. I was wondering if you could let us know what said “toy” would be. The book and toy combo was over $60 so it must be good.
    Have a good day!

Cool surprise, that Hollows wallpaper! 🙂 I have tulips up there now, my girlfriend put it there cuz she likes ’em and her family’s roots are Dutch. I think I’d rather have Rachel/Ivy wallpaper… I shall break it to her gently, lol.

    • rubydesires

      Antonio-kun called us goobers. 😦

      Tulips are kinda neat . . .

    • Kylie Ru

      Phil-kun, Antonio-kun called us goobers 😦

((I re-posted this ’cause before it was all “your comment is awaiting moderation!” So I said to the computer “Pfft! I do not have time to wait!”))

    • suzannelazear

You know a goober is a peanut? (and a candy) When I tell the tot she’s a goober she rolls her eyes and infoms me that she’s allergic to peanuts…lol

    • -grin- Rachel wouldn’t mind tulips, I’m sure.

It’s raining again today! I’m all excited! Why is rain always associated with sadness and whatnot? I now associate that with sunshine.

Okay, I’m exaggerating. But not by much!

Awesome on the wallpapers! Now I have a dilemma. Keep my Hatter from Syfy’s Alice wallpaper (eye-candy!), or get a Rachel wallpaper? Hmmmm . . .

    Have fun today, Kim-san!

  21. suzannelazear

    Beautiful wallpaper. Wow.

Still squeeing over finally finishing and sending in that ms. I feel like I’ve been editing *forever*, lol. Yep, Harper Teen. 🙂 I still can’t believe it, lol. Talk about dream team. 🙂

It’s still raining today. Hard. I guess the tot’s outdoor playdate is cancled today, lol. Of course, she won’t like that. She’ll want to go swimming…

    ~Suzanne and the tot

  22. I found this illustration of dandelions and love the movement of it. I can imagine a simplified version on Rachel’s ankle or arm.

My computer wallpapers usually are of nature scenes. This article “Looking at nature makes you nicer” explains how your little houseplants might have been the key to you not catching a cold. 🙂

When I had a monster of a monitor, my cat Kiwi loved napping on the top. I made a wallpaper that had an arrow pointing up and said, “let sleeping cat lie.” A cat’s tail constantly twitching in front of my monitor was nature enough. *laugh*

    *happy dance*

    Good Morning Kim et al!
The sun is shining & there is a bright blue sky here…very pretty day so far!
The happy dance is for the wallpaper…I can’t wait to get home to put it on my computer there!
Hope all is well down south…
