    At first: I’ve searched a really long time after an author like you! Thanks, for writing such great books (:
    My sister has bought the first book and she was thrilled. So I read it, too. And as a well-read person I just can say, that you’re amazing!
    But I’m still asking me, why must Kisten die? Was it an irony of fate?
    Sorry, when I’m so blind and it’s standing here. And sorry for my horrible english – I’m still fourteen and not really good at it.
    It’s nice that you get some inspiration from music. I don’t know many people they that do. Okay, I’ve got a really strange musci-taste.

    Hey Kim,

    I really love your books!
    It started all with the truth series which my friends and I enjoyed very much. These books are so much different from all the other fantasy novels you find today which only deal with epic battles and nothing else. I admire the way how you describe your characters and how the reader gets to know them better and better. Will there be a sequel of Alissa´s history? My friends and I don´ t think so but we would love it so much!
    A few weeks ago, I got to know that you also write books alias Kim Harrison. First of all, I was a little bit sceptic because I could not imagine that the plot of these books which seemed a little bit dark would appeal to me.
    Now I nearly finished “Blutspur” and I like it very much! It has got the same fantastic writing style as the truth series. And Rachel is as much a fascinating character as Alissa!
    Now I´ m looking forward the read all your other books :)

    Hey,

    I like the German covers a lot, that’s what got me into taking the book out of it’s shelf in the first place. I don’t think my mum would have let me buy it with the American or British cover at the age of 14 haha
    well it was also the info on the back that made me interested in it. But the covers, ohh I just love running over the eye with my finger, it’s like those Goosebumbs books :P
    Now I’m older, and I got all the rest in English, but I can’t say the translation is bad, because I know how hard it is to translate and to make it perfect as the original is not done as fast either. I’d say that for those that can’t read English so well as others, are lucky that they can have such a wonderful translation :)

    Hey! I just started TODW in english! Yay, you were right, the english versions are way better than the german translations. And it is so funny! The words ‘doppelgänger’ and ’spiel’ made me laugh. :D – Chrisy

    I’ve just read “Blutspur” & “Blutspiel” and I want to say thank you for this awesome books. I really love your characters especially Trent. I love wildcatting about him and his relation to Rachel ;) and the mysteries surrounding him. My friend and I chatted over hours, because we wanted to discuss your story.
    I like the mix of humor and thrill you write in your books.
    Now I have to go by the next book ;)

    I´ve red the first three books in german, than switched over to the original version for several reasons:
    1. The translations sucks. I´ve seen, that the translator has switched, dunno if its better now, I stay with the english one anyway.
    2. I don´t have to wait that long for the next book and
    3. The covers of the originals are the best. If not because of a tip from a friend, I would have never bought the books, just because the cover ist boring…sorry. But now I know better, thank god :-)

      Yeah I know what you mean. I was sitting in a book store waiting for a friend and out of boredom I took Blutspur and I thought “omg another stupid vampire book- laaame!” but then I started reading and loved it. I am so glad my friend was late. (grin) Why do they have to change the covers anyway? I don’t get that.
      Ah I am struggling with myself wheather I should start to read it in english (I just finished book five and am desperately waiting for number six) or not. Looks so weird in the bookshelf. Damn what should I do? – Chrisy

        Apart from cooler covers and the fact that usually no translation can beat the original there’s another advantage: The English books are much cheaper! 5,49 Euros for ODW instead of 14 Euros for Blutnacht, that’s quite a difference. And you don’t have to wait until November…

    (laugh) yeah! I think the translations are as good as possible, but I still wish I had read the books in english. But on the other hand I love to guess what the original text is. I do that quite often… maybe I’m just weird. Probably I am but I don’t really care. And I love these adages! I think I would be ‘handing on the spoon’ … the swearing is funny, too. (little things make Chrisy grin)

    - Regine? Du lernst wahnsinnig viel beim Lesen! Mach einfach mal und stör dich nicht dran, wenn du ein Wort nicht verstehst, das macht nichts.
    (I adviced Regine to read books in english)

    I’m going to learn russian next year. Maybe I’ll read the Hollows in russian some day. ;-)

    …What me bothers are Jenks sayings. Could anyone tell me the english ones? Are they like ‘Tinks underpants!’ ? – I’m so in love with the idea of Jenks-sayings-cups. I need one Kim! And if I have to go to America to buy one.

    Hello Kim,

    At first my background: In general I like to read the Perry Rhodan silver-series (SciFi) and the authors Wolfgang Hohlbein (Fantasy) and Anne McCaffrey (Pern Saga, still looking for the Delphine Book) and of course I liked the TV-series “Buffy the Vapire Slayer” a lot.

    A friend at work forced me to read Blood Pack and I read it without taking a break. Amazing. Haven’t read any book in the last few years that was as good as your book is.

    The german translation is really (!) great and the translators are very skilled and transported your intensions perfectly. Theese little sarcastic and ironic thoughts of Rachel are sometimes very language-specific and were really hard to translate. p.e. “raining cats and dogs” would not work in german language; and I am sure that “giving up her spoons” would only confuse people not used to german sayings. ;) So send them some kisses. ;)

    I was supprised how detailed and clear you have defined the world of Rachel and Ivy. Most of theese books about witches, vampires, werwolfes and daemons are confusingly blurry. But you did it right. I really hope that you will influence german writers with your style!

    BTW, I think Rachel would be good for a little tv-sequel ;)

      You really think the German translations are well done? I was rather terrified when I read them after the original English version. But tastes are different ;-)

        Sabrina, I agree with you. I have not read the english books but sometimes the german translation is funny. Have you noticed the bugs at Jenks? He said Rache not Rachel. I think this is a misspelling?

        Hi, Regine! Actually this isn’t a misspelling. Jenks often says Rache instead of Rachel. But if you feel up to it you should really go and get yourself the English books. They’re so much better. It needs getting used to to read in English but you’ll see that after a while it really isn’t that difficult anymore. AND you don’t have to wait until next year to be able to read “White Witch Black Curse” ;-)

        Correct, “Rache” is english. In german “Rach” would fit better. Our pronunciation is slight different.

      I’m so glad you took a chance on my work, even if it took a friend forcing you to do so! ;-) I have spoken to some of the translators, and they are trying really hard to get it just right. And you’re right–I’ve no idea what “giving up her spoons” means!

    Agreed, Regine. I finally came to terms with the covers (sigh) the story’s just too perfect to complain about anything. Ah the translators are really taking their time… Looks like I’ll have to read your other books first – poor me (laugh). This time I’ll read them in english though, I’m eager to learn some cool slang (grin).

    I find the german book cover very beautiful and so mysterious. The english titles are quite different from the german. I find confusing this. The english titles are better. With the german titles one thinks, it is only about vampires. Who has chosen the cover actually? You choose her, Kim? I have to stand all books into my cupboard. I love all books but the best I found Blood song. *hehe* This book makes me crazy ;-) ) Blood Night finally comes in autumn. I am already very tense on this. I hope there is again lots of demons. *grin* Without them, it is nothing!
