  1. I think the cover looks great, really reflects on the contents. :)

  2. Of course he was looking for a girlfriend!

  3. Jordan

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend because a guy like that doesn’t have to make excuses to ask a girl out. However, I do think he was open to the possibility of romance or sex, or both. He was back in town for a job interview and she’s an attractive, interesting woman, so why not drop in and test the waters?

  4. Sarah R

I don’t know that he was looking for a girlfriend specifically, but I do think that he was curious about the girl that he met for that short period of time. She was something he was curious about and maybe had tiny hopes of seeing on a more personal level.

  5. He might not have admitted it to himself, but he was looking for a girlfriend.

    Happy Holidays everybody!

  6. Julie B.

Yes, I think he was looking for a girlfriend :)

  7. MJ

Its a long journey to satisfy your curiosity, But then all of us tell ourselves one thing but really want something else. Lets be friends fingers crossed, she really likes me !

  8. Marshal was interested in Rachel after she and Jenks went to save Nick and Jacks, and then when he realized that no her life doesn’t get any less scary, and hanging around her would make him feel as if he were inferior or have to defend himself constantly, that is the point he realized that Rachel was simply too much Woman for him. HOWEVER he wasn’t scared off until White Witch, Black Magic, so it’s a moot Point, the Outlaw demon wails is where he meets and thinks a little excitement is exactly what he wants.

  9. He was a bit in denial, but yes, he was looking for a girlfriend, without a doubt.

  10. Kelley

Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend.

  11. Carl Fox

It has been a while since I read it. But I think he Was looking for a girlfriend, butwas not ready for the reality…

  12. Jessica Smith

I believe Marshal was looking for a girlfriend and he was also curious about Rachel.

  13. I am on time, rigth? Please say yes!
So my answer is: Come on! It’s Rachel we are talking about, she got he completly haunted, he is not just curious, he wants something with her but he still doesn’t know it for real. He we prove he doesn’t deserve her later so I don’t like him, sorry! Hate the men who can’t catch up with the woman the are trying to love :-$

  14. I definitely think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend. I think he thought him and Rachel had such an intense connection earlier, that he had see if it was still there.

  15. I think Marshal was curious and looking for a girlfriend.

  16. Alan

I think Marshal was intrigued by Rachael and wanted someone interesting to hangout with.

  17. Angela Burchett

I think he was satisfying his curiosity. He walked away too fast for him to have wanted any thing real with Rachel.

  18. He was looking for a girl friend just didn’t know it!

  19. jenniferbielman

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend.

  20. Lanie Adams

I don’t think Marshal was lookin for a girlfriend or anything serious, at least not with Rachael. He was curious and attracted to her but not willing to go there.

  21. Becky

I think Marshall was intrigued by Rachel’s life and thought he wanted to be a part of it. The adventure probably looked exciting from the outside, especially to a relatively normal witch like him. I think part of him wanted a girlfriend but I don’t think that was his main motivation. He soon realised that being inside the adventure was a lot more drama than he was willing to take on!

  22. Claudia

I LOVE everything about this cover! The colors are super cool, and the mystery of what Rachel looks like, is even cooler. I’ve always liked the covers in which you kind of see Rachel, but it still leaves you wondering what she really looks like. On this cover, you can see more of her, but her face is still a mystery, leaving more to the imagination. As the books have progressed, we have seen more and more of Rachel. Now, we have seen Rachel’s face in the most recent book cover. It’s nice to get a better look at what Rachel may look like, as portrayed by the model, but it was always interesting to look at the more mysterious covers, like this one.

  23. Mark

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend, but I also think he was thinking of more than satisfying his curiosity.

  24. Rickk

I think he was just satisfying his curiosity.

  25. Aimée Laibida

It’s been a while since I read the book but I do think he at least thought he was just satisying his curiosity.

  26. Jessi

It has been a loooong time since reading this, but from what I remember, I think Marshal was just curious about her…until her knew her, then he had to have!

  27. Amanda

I think he really was curious…but also very attracted to Rachel.

  28. Marshall was curious!! Thanks for the gift card ! Gave it to a very delighted buddy over the weekend!!

  29. The cover looks forboding. So many dark corners over the cobbled street where anything could be lurking. Rachel looks like she’s on fire but with her head tilted down you can’t see her expression or the red of her hair. The weapon in her hands suggest she’s out for vengence which is a new side of Rachel since she’s always been real flighty and ignorant. I suppose dark knowledge and a darker aura can change anyone but it sure makes me want to find out whose butt needs kicking! :)

  30. Rocky Reeves

Okay, this question deals with a “guy thing.” Marshal came knocking on Rachel’s door looking for a girlfriend. BUT, he kept telling himself that he wasn’t. This is something we guys do as a defense mechanism, to keep from being disappointed and/or hurt if nothing happens.

  31. Heather Gilbert

Marshal was curious – and attracted. How could he not be? When he knocked on her door, there was only one thing that really could have happened. In between his fear, he found a girlfriend.

  32. Yadi Boles

I think Marshall was most definitely interested in Rachel, but whether he knocked on the door with a relationship in mind, well, I think he just wanted to see her again and see if the woman he remembered, and was so intrigued by, was the same as the actual woman in life. Our brain does funny things to us when those sparks fly and chemistry brews and boils. Sometimes there’s more in our head than in reality. I don’t think Marshall was disappointed when that door opened. :)

  33. carrie

    I think he was curious.

  34. Niraja Pitts

I think Marshal was looking for Rachel. I think he was drawn to her and open for whatever might happen. Except for what did happen.

  35. Jenny Lee

I think deep down he was but he couldnt stand not being number one in rache life,so he used his crazy ex girlfriend, the awesome dangers in rache life and business being ruined as an excuse not to get involved and risk everything

  36. Shelly T

A little of both I think

  37. Marianne

I think he was most definitely interested in her (and maybe there was a bit of interest in getting more involved with her as well when he knocked on that door) but it was mostly curiosity about a certain redheaded witch.

  38. Jody Graham

Girlfriend? Hmm mm not to start

  39. Amber R

Ehhhhh….. in asking that question, it seems like he might have been.

  40. Shannon Kshywonis

I think it was a little of both. I think he was intrigued by her and curious and wanted to be with her in the way teen girls want to marry their favorite actor. Then once he got more involved he realized he couldn’t handle either the chaos or the fact that she was so much stronger than him.

  41. Kathy Curry

I think Marshall was intrigued with Rachel from the beginning. So why not get in touch with her when he happened to move into the city? Expecting it to turn into a romance would have been premature, but I’d say he was open to that possibility before knocking on her door.

  42. I don’t think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend.

  43. Rae

I think Marshal was attracted to Rachel but I don’t think he was looking for her to be his girlfriend; he was merely being curious about her and Jenks.

  44. Justin T

I think he was interested in rachel, but did not know fully how to develop these feelings.

  45. Terri

    Marshall liked Rachel

  46. Erin Johnson

I think he was looking for someone, but he wanted to be with a woman who needed him more than he needed her. Rachel was just too much woman for him.

  47. Bobbi Mooney

Hmmmm. I think Marshal was just curious about Rachel and Jenks.

  48. Katie Coss

I would love to answer the Marshall question but I haven’t read that one yet. I love the cover though!!! All the covers and the books are amazing!

  49. Laura H

I think he was MOSTLY going to pop in and say hi, but also kinda hoping to start something with her. But he couldn’t handle her life unfortunately =/

  50. Sabrina Whartenby

I have entered so many times, I hope I win this time! I absolutely love this series and plan on reading them as long as Kim Harrison continues to write them! Please don’t ever stop!

  51. Sapphire

Marshall started out curious about Rachel, she did have a heck of a story for wanting to go on that dive.

  52. he was looking for a girlfriend

  53. I think that Marshal was looking for a girlfriend. However, I think he realized that having Rachael as a girlfriend would be to much for him. He needs to feel like he is the alpha in the relationship and that cannot happen with Rachael.

  54. I think he was looking at Rachel as girlfriend material but her life was too much for him and he turned into a fair weather boyfriend when trouble started for Rachel!

  55. Erin J

Oh Marshal, I really liked him with Rachel, I was sad to see to see him go…I was hoping that they’d get past the friendship stage that she took them down too but alas it was never meant to be ;(

  56. Keri Van Dyke

I think it was a little bit of both. He couldn’t help his curiosity, and I think he was interested in her. I am not sure he had convinced himself either way. He was probably open to any possibility with Rachel, but most of all I think he had a yearning and curiosity that he had to satisfy…

  57. marcie

I think Marshall was looking for her to see if what he was feeling was true. However I believe he told himself that he was just looking to say hi to a friend.

  58. I love the consistency of your covers and the titles!!

  59. Oh yes, i do believe Marshall was trolling for, hoping for, looking for a girlfriend. Rachel was great fun and eye candy but he couldn’t handle her intensity and drama that surrounds her ~ besides she was an equal and he needed to be needed.

  60. I wish I could answer the Marshall question but I never made it past book 5. Still, would love to win the contest.

  61. Mary

I’d say he was looking for a girlfriend but got a bit more than he could handle. After all, he didn’t stay after she was shunned.

  62. Tina

I think Marshal was intrigued the first time he had dealings with Rachel and that is why he just happened to end up moving closer to her. He was seeking her out trying to get to know her better, only not realizing what a crazy life Rachel really leads!

  63. Maybe my memory is fuzzy and this maybe makes no sense since the overwhelming consensus is yes, but it’s possible that since he had the whole ‘knight’ thing going on that he was just looking for someone to save. That doesn’t mean he was looking for a girlfriend. Sometimes people want to feel something and pick up ‘projects’ to fulfill a need that doesn’t really have anything to do with romantic relationships.

  64. Kimberly Schwarz

I believe Marshal was testing the waters on Rachel being girlfriend material while satisfying his curiosity.

  65. Daniel Ludlow

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend, but I don’t think he was ruling it out either. I think he showed up to see where things went.

  66. Shirley Flinders

Yes Marshal was definitely looking for date. He was hooked line and sinker by the time the were starting the dive. Rachel only added to the allure by unexpectantly wanting to “use” him.

  67. naturallydotty

Oh yeah, those sparks were shining between Marshall and Rachel from the start. He definitely saw her as girlfriend material.

  68. bethany titus

    The cover rocks

  69. Keegan K.

I think he was looking for a girlfriend. Completely.

  70. Leanne B

I think he wanted to get to know her better.. he has been infatuated with her since the day they met. In other words, I think he wanted to see where their relationship would lead.

  71. Melissa H

He was looking for a girlfriend for sure. Haha.

  72. I think he was very interested in Rachel as a girlfriend. Who wouldn’t? She is a serious kick ass woman!

  73. I think he was intrigued Rachel is is so different. She is strong but often misguided. Marshal is a bit on the dare devil side himself if only for rescuing rachel but he also has a gender role (strong male save girl) complex. I think he was curious if she could fit into his world.

  74. Barbara A.

Of course he was looking for a girlfriend, Why else would he have come? And the covers are always awesome.

  75. Ellen Hotchkiss

I loved that slice of “normalcy” Rachel got with Marshall, but she was moving forward not staying the same and he was not evolving the way she was–

  76. Marshal was definitely in the market for a rebound girlfriend. He saw a damsel in distress who wasn’t like his last girl

  77. Sarah P

I love how the cover doesn’t show her face. It lets the reader use their imagination.

  78. Of course he was looking to “date” Rachel when he showed up! She was fascinating when he met her. He had never met any one else who had been so REAL.

  79. I love the covers for your books. They really set the tone and make them special. I can’t wait to get more of your books this year!!!

  80. I think he was looking for a girlfriend, but she was too strong for his ego.

  81. Meaghan

I think he was looking for a relationship and thought he could handle the frantic lifestyle Rachel lives but when it got too hectic he bailed.

  82. Christi Hicks

Oh please anyone whos heard of Rachel wants her for a girlfriend.

  83. Rachel Vaughn

He just got caught up on the excitement of Rachel’s life and wanted to be apart of it. Then he couldn’t keep up with her.

  84. Jinny

I think he definitely was looking, but when she said she wasn’t looking for a relationship, he went with that for his answer to be able to spend time with her and try to win her over. Pull her in with his charm, then get her to change her mind.

  85. Joanette Fountain

Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend but I think Rachel’s life was just to chaotic for him to risk himself. Not to mention the chemistry just wasn’t there. And on another note.. The covers are great

  86. Miranda Beazley

I think Marshall was definitely looking for something. Maybe not a girlfriend but definitely something but he was also curious about if she was serious as well

  87. Jo Sinclair

Yes I think he was looking for a girlfriend.

  88. Tricia

I love all your cover art… and think it’s time for another reading of your books :) maybe over my christmas vacation while the kids battle it out in the backyard :)

  89. Tabitha

Yes he was looking for a girlfriend, but he couldn’t handle Rachel’s life. I hated how he left her when she was shunned.

  90. April Bruno

I think Marshal was wanting to satisfy his curiosity and check up on Rachel but at the same time he was at a place in his life were he was ready to settle down with someone, even if he didn’t know it yet.

  91. Kyla

Pfft he was looking for a new girlfriend the moment he met Rachel. He was, on the relationship front, the male version of Rachel always attracted to anything that is dangerous and not good for them

  92. Tina Knight

I think Marshall was very curious about Rachel but then didn’t the stigma that would have come with continuing to have a relationship with her.

  93. I think that men meet Rachel and see someone special and think “Ya she’s the one” and then get scared off by the very things that make her special… Marshal is no exception to that!

  94. Anna C.

Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend.

  95. Looking for a girlfriend.

  96. Abbie

Im not syre why Marshall went out with Rachel, I couldnt get a feel for him. But the cover of this book was amazing just like all the rest.

  97. Kennedy

I think Marshal was looking for excitement first and a girlfriend second. His life had become so ho-hum and Rachel was the first person to shake him up.

  98. Natasha

I think Mashal was very interested in seeing if something would happen with Rachel.

  99. I think Marshall was sating his curiosity, but he was also looking for a girlfriend. Most definitely.

  100. Nathan

I am sure he was looking to at least give Rachel another chance so be his girl. She needs saving often enough to keep him busy looking after her and happy….

  101. Marshal was ok, but in the end he had an epic fail on his part. He’s a wannabe boyfriend who wasn’t tough enough to handle Rachel.

  102. Robert Beecher

Rachael looking for a White Knight? Not in those shoes or this lifetime.

  103. lvzer1

    yes, girlfriend 0f course!! :)

  104. Mandy Kimbrell

he was definitely looking looking Rachel.

  105. I don’t think he was looking for a girl friend. I think he was looking for excitement. Rachel has a magnetic personality… most people seem to hate her or love her. He bit off a little bit more than he was willing to chew!

  106. Cat

I think that Marshal WAS looking for a girlfriend, but I think that he was secretly scared spitless of Rachel :)

  107. vicki martin

I think Marshal was really looking for a girlfriend when he was looking at Rachel. He even seemed very impressed by her honesty too. I almost wished they had worked out long term but who knows how that would have turned out. Marshal seemed tough but gave up once she was shunned instead of staying by her side.

  108. Jennifer

Marshal remembered the sexy redhead from Cincy and thought he’d look her up when he went back to town. He probably thought it would piss off Debby to go knocking on Rachel’s door. I don’t think his feelings were nearly as platonic as he pretended they were – look at how pissed Ivy was when he was there.

  109. Kelly E Harrison

Maybe he wasn’t admitting it to himself, but yes, he was SO looking for a girlfriend.

  110. debbie spinks

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend

  111. I think Marshal was curious and then after he saw and met Rachel, bada boom, bada bing! Who wouldn’t want to date Rachel? I’m straight and I want to date her :)

  112. Charlie

I think Marshal was specifically checking Rachel out as girlfriend material and I kinds had high hopes for them.

  113. Cindi G

I think he was looking for a girlfriend. But Rachel was more than he bargained for.,

  114. Crystal P.

I don’t think he would ever admit to it, but yes, he was looking for a girlfriend. :-)

  115. June V.

Marshall was looking for a girlfriend.

  116. I do not think he was, but after meeting Rachel he liked her more than he thought, but in the end he could not handle her life.

  117. cindy burczyk

He was so looking for Rachel

  118. Bill J

He was totally looking for a GF!

  119. Temarra Ford

It’s been a while, but I’m pretty sure that with all the chaos in her life and the pretty girl (not to mention a witch) he was just auditioning. You know what they say about curiosity and the cat, but… I’d say he was pretty damn hopeful. ;)

  120. I think it was a combination; I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend – but not out of love. I think it was mostly because he was curious as to what dating someone who always seemed to be in the middle of danger/adventure would be like. Maybe he couldn’t decide if he was happy with Rachel or not since she attracts a lot of attention, which he wasn’t sure he could handle or knew how to handle?

  121. Bill J

What a great give away, sounds terrific!

  122. Oh the Marsh Man was definitely looking for a girlfriend, and shouldn’t have chickened out. You knew she was trouble when she walked in, Marshall. You shouldn’t have bailed on her.

  123. shan

I think he was open to a relationship, curious to see if they could connect on a deeper level. Rachel’s life however was more than he could handle.

  124. Linda

Took one look and wanted her, refused to admit to self that he wanted a gf.

  125. Yes, Marshal was wanting Rachel for a partner.

  126. Georgie Porgie

Your (distant) neighbor in Fowlerville, Michigan says Marshall was auditioning women for the title.

  127. I think he was definitely hoping to find a girlfriend. Thanks for the giveway (and I got my tour shirt today, yay!)

  128. Misty Arnold

Yes I think he was. I just think Rachel is more than he could handle.

  129. Jeremiah Edwards

Marshal looked up, saw Rachel and felt his blood temperature increase. She stirred a fire in him and he didn’t know he had it. Mr. Aloof indeed.

    • Marshal may not have been thinking that he was looking for a girlfriend consciously, but any man who just goes to check out and see a girl is sub- consciously aware that she might just be available and attractive. there for he was seeking a girlfriend.

  130. I think it was both. I think his saving her made him feel a bit responsible for her safety ( especially since he broke the rules for her). He liked her before and his curiosity made him go see her but it was seeing her that made him move beyond simply LIKING her, to the girlfriend phase of things.

  131. Sue

I think Marshall was curious about living on the edge and decided to see what Rachel was like. And then it turned out she was way too much woman for him.

  132. Marshall was only curious, but if he had been looking for a girlfriend he so chickened out.

  133. VeAnna

He was checking her out but not specifically as girlfriend material… curiosity kills the cat! Good thing Marshall was not a cat!

  134. Gina Rowland

I think he was looking, it wasn’t just curiosity.

  135. Michele

I think both, he was curious about snagging her as his girlfriend!

  136. Sabrina P.

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend when he met Rachel.

  137. Janie Marlow

I think Marshal was curious about Rachel.

  138. Absolutely, Marshal was looking for a girlfriend. He wanted to be someone’s knight, but she can hold her own. Crappy of him to abandon her when she became shunned though.

  139. moonbeam080680

I don’t know if he was looking for a girlfriend at first. I think Rachel intrigued him and since he was able to “rescue” her before, he thought he may have another chance and be able to get closer to her.

  140. Holly Holt.

    He wanted a girlfriend!

  141. Frances Lee Gonzalez

Awww, Marshal… I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend per se. He was really hopeful, though. Marshal wanted to rekindle with Rachel somehow, but he definitely WAS curious.

  142. janine16

I think it was only curiosity that made him knock on her door. Of course, later on, he began seeing Rachel as a potential girlfriend.

  143. Laura Horton

I think he was looking for a girlfriend. Otherwise, why go all the way to Cincinnati? He could have gone back to school anywhere.

  144. Kelly

I think Marshal came to Rachel’s door knowing exactly what he was looking for! Such a fun little fling…I was sorry to see him go!

  145. Maria

Marshall was looking for a girlfriend.

  146. Sian Young

I think he did want a gf! But it was mean of him to ditch her when she became shunned!!

  147. Jodi

He was definitely looking for a girlfriend only he wasn’t strong enough,

  148. Rochelle H

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend! :)

  149. I think he was totally looking to rekindle something with Rachel.

  150. Jenilee Kasch

I think Marshall was just satisfying his curiosity honestly. He wasnt ready to have a gf and could honestly never handle Rachel at all. He was too concerned about himself and couldn’t handle any sort of trouble that Rachel finds herself in. Too chicken bUtt.. Meh.

  151. B. Bridge

I thought that he was genuinely interested in Rachel, especially as girlfriend material, because he thought that she’d be fun and outgoing and without all the political baggage that was going on at the time.

  152. Brian Wiedman

He was EASILY looking for a girlfriend

  153. Taylor

Marshal was definitely looking for a girlfriend.

  154. Sara Phillips

I don’t think he was out right looking for a relationship with Rachel, but I do think that that thought did exist within the back of his mind when he came knocking on her door.

  155. Denise Vilandre

I’m not sure he was looking for a girlfriend, but maybe there was a little bit of curiosity in there enough to make him go to rachel’s. whatever it was, i didnt like marshall anyway.

  156. Maryanne B

Marshal was definitely looking for a girlfriend when he came to Cincinnati.

  157. Ii actually dont think he was looking for a girlfriend but some people are just the kind to alway hve a gfbf and Marshall is that kind of man

  158. I haven’t read the book, but I think the cover looks awesome! I need to get started on my re-read so I can read The Undead Pool when it comes out! I am very sad that there are no awesome bookstores that will bring you here to Oklahoma City. :(

  159. wvcountrygirl1956

I think he came looking for a relationship with Rachel but couldn’t handle her lifestyle.

I think he was looking for a “girl friend” at first with Rachel. Then when he got to know Rachel he could not deal with her lifestyle.

  160. Karen at the Robbins Nest

    Looking for a girlfriend!

  161. chris

I think his interest was deffintely a bit more than a friend when he came a calling.

  162. three-quarters curiosity and a quarter looking for a girlfriend.

  163. Ruth Rossman

He was looking. Maybe not actively pursuing, but definitely looking.

  164. Melissa

I think Marshall thought Rachel was intriguing and wanted to see where things would go, he just wasn’t able to handle who Rachel truly was.

  165. yea Marshal was looking his one true love to settle down. But our girl Rachel was to much for him. Now Rach and Trent yea could have little Elf/Witch/Demon babys :) i could dream….

  166. Jessica Whitehouse

I haven’t read it yet, but the covers are great- sort of dark and scary, yet sexy at the same time. The chick with a knife is wickedly alluring. makes me excited to check this one out.

  167. Gerry Eisenhauer

Marshall was looking for a girlfriend !

  168. Mariette

I think Marshall was looking for a girlfriend and thought Rachel could be a good one before he really knew her. In the end she ended up being more than he could handle and got scared. :(

  169. I think that Marshall saw a potential alpha.

  170. I think it was curiosity mostly. Rachel is wild. She was admired and scorned in the witch world, Sure he had to check her out.

  171. I think Marshal really thought that Rachel could be the “ONE” he’d been looking for. He realized that she was the skittish sort and so told her that he was coming off the breakup and wasn’t looking for a relationship but you could see it. The disappointment and pain he displayed when she got shunned just confirmed it all.

  172. Carol

I think that he was looking for a girlfriend but hadn’t thought it through.

  173. Joslyn Whitt

I think Marshall was curious but hoping he could at least get her to go out. The way she met Marshall would have prompted curiosity in just about any male. :)

  174. Love the cover and hope to read the book soon! (restarting the series from book one and going through all the new ones since i last read these!)

  175. I think Rachel sparked interest in him…he was looking for a girlfriend and got more than he could handle…

  176. Jessica S

I believe he was looking for a girlfriend, but he was to much of a knight made of tin. Sorry to say Marshal was a good guy, but wasn’t tough enough to stand for/next to Rachel

  177. Delesha Woodley

Oh Marshal, you were totally digging our Rach. Excuses

  178. I don’t think he was necessarily looking for a girlfriend but ended up intrigued and attracted to her and didn’t want to scare her off.

  179. Billy

a little of both, though I think that curiosity was the main thing. and maybe a bit of ego….

  180. GK

I haven’t read it since it came out so I don’t remember what I thought at the time. I do love the cover and the title. I am re-reading all of the books in preparation for the tour, so glad you’re coming to Pittsburgh!

  181. Definitely cause there were some serious vibes

  182. Heather B.

He might of been trying to tell himself otherwise, at first, but he was definitely interested.

  183. I have to think he came out of curiosity more than anything. But the male (of any species) is ALWAYS looking for a piece… ;) Anyways, I don’t think he could handle Rachel’s strength or her courage/recklessness.

  184. sugarpaws81

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, but he had no idea what he was getting into!!

  185. Chelsea

Marshall was looking for a girlfriend weather he wanted to admit ir or not.

  186. I think he was trying to be a Knight in shining armor and needed to having someone to help, who better to be his damsel in distress than his girlfriend.

  187. Bruce Merkley

I think that Shannon was right, Marshal has the White Knight thing going on and needs a GF who is the damsel in dis dress which is why Rachel throws him for a loop most of the time by her self reliance.

  188. Desiree Juarez

I think it was that curiosity got the better of him. I mean who wouldn’t want to see what was up? A

  189. Madeline

I think he was just satisfying his curiosity. He saw that there was a spark in Michigan and wanted to see what would come of it. Honestly they never really stood a chance because they both would’ve been each other’s rebound people… which is kinda what ended up happening anyway :P

  190. Dellena

I think he was looking for a girlfriend. Although I can’t remember much about that part because didn’t really like his character. That cover was one of my favorites because it showed Rach with a Gun.

  191. Megan

He may have thought that he wasn’t but he definitely thought that there was something there that he wanted to explore.

  192. Carrie Gamble

I think it was mostly curiosity, but that turned into more because she is not a needy woman like his last relationship.

  193. Sherry Wilson

I think Marshall was looking for a girlfriend.

  194. I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend but not really searching to find one when he found Rachel. In the beginning I think he was like wow and then realized that even though he liked her he was too scared to stick around knowing what she was. In the end he chickened out and ran, which is sad cause they could’ve been good together.

  195. Jacqueline Williams

I think Marshal really thought he’d be content just checkingin on Rache. I think he wanted to make sure she was okay, but his White-Knight complex kicked in and drew him to her. Like he said, she smelled good, and sometimes thats all it takes

  196. Heather Corby

Marshal was intrigued by Rachel, but realized they didn’t quite mesh.

  197. Michal Adkins

Marshal may not have been looking for a girlfriend but after meeting Rachel he definitely thought about it. I think that the biggest problem was that he wanted someone safe that wasn’t going to buck the system and take him out of his comfort zone.

  198. Theresa Schultz

Marshall may not have been looking for a girlfriend but he was definitely looking forward to seeing Rachel again. She intrigued him.

  199. Russ

I think Marshal was testing the waters, ready to step in as her boyfriend if she wanted one or willing to stay friends if she wasn’t ready yet

  200. Rianne Golden

Yes Marshal was looking for a girlfriend.

  201. Ann Powell

Yes, I think he was interested in Rachel.

  202. Sandy S

    He was just curios

  203. Paula Reynolds

I think Marshal was interested in Rachel, he was curious, but he was also very, very attracted!!!

  204. Peggy

I think it was a bit of both. The situation was too much for him though. Wuss.

  205. Kristal

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, but not necessarily with Rachel. He seems like the settle and commit type, definitely not Rachel’s style!

  206. lavinia68

I think he did want to satisfy his curiosity, but was also thinking along the lines of finding a girlfriend in the same go as a plus.

  207. Tracey

I don’t know if Marshal was looking for a girlfriend but, he was definitely intrigued by Rachel!

  208. Soroya

I think he was intrigued by her and felt a certain pull toward her but I don’t think he knew where it would go for sure when he first went knocking.

  209. Crystal S.

That dude was so looking for a girlfriend

  210. Lygia Dennison

Ahhh, Marshall. I really thought that one was going to work out. I think that he was open to the idea, but really let Rachel set the tone for their relationship. It was almost as if he was looking forward to Rachel throwing herself at him, but was okay with just being friends.

  211. A.N.

I think Marshal and Rachel felt only curiosity was too strong for him.

  212. Joe Fiorini

I think he was curious about Rachel and wanted to see if she might be willing to be saved.

  213. Holly Lefevers

I think Rachel is just so awesome the men just can’t help being drawn to her. Even if Marshall wasn’t planning on it he wanted it

  214. He was curious at first then he notice he cannot be what Rachel needs,

  215. Yes, I do think he was looking for a girlfriend. I think he was just saying that line for Rachel’s sake and not to scare her off since she wasn’t ready.

  216. Marshal was really looking but Rachel scared him big time

  217. Gowri

I think Marshall was curious to see the witch that his father consulted with and probably to prove to himself that he was not scared :-)

  218. Naomi Jacobs

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, he just didn’t want to think he was.

  219. Shannon Quenzer

I think poor Rachel is always the curiosity, but they realize there is more to her than they thought.

  220. Sean Porter

Marshall was probably looking for a girlfriend.

  221. liz miller

both covers look really awesome like u just want to hold them and not let either one go til they r read and maybe even than u may not want to let them go

  222. Think Marshal was intrigued with Rachel and wanted to see what might happen.

  223. Lori

    Just curious I think

  224. Nicole Harris

He was definitely looking for a girlfriend! He was just trying to be cute about it that’s all!

  225. Romy Owens

I think Marshal was gun shy and not looking for a girlfriend… not consciously. He was more likely needed to be needed and be the hero. His old relationship knocked him flat and he needed an obviously unlikely-to-be-long-term match to start to recoup. Rachel lives on the edge and Marshal is a white-picket-fence kind of guy, they never had a chance.

  226. Ann-Katrin Heppner

I think he wasn’t sure of what he’s doing.

  227. maureen lockhart

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend, he was curious but the curiosity was just out of it being Rachel which is what it is for a lot of the guys

  228. He was looking for a girlfriend.

  229. Michele

I think he wanted to know more about her. They met on his boat, she spins this wild tale about a rescue, then the Weres burn his property to the ground. Who wouldn’t want to know more? I think he was attracted to her but she honestly scared the hell out of him.

  230. kathryn chagnon

I really think he “thought” he was just satisfying his curiousity… he wasnt sure ;)

  231. Erica Andersen

Been a long time since I read this one. In his mind he wasnt looking for a girlfriend. But subconsciously? That is what drives all men. :P

  232. Kristina

He was looking for her to be his girlfriend, but I think he was hoping for her to be excited and make the next move after he appeared.

  233. Charmayne

I don’t think even Marshal new what he was doing :-)

  234. Michele

Marshall was looking for a girlfriend but he wasn’t ready for everything that a relationship with Rachel would bring.

  235. Jo

I have to agree I do think he was looking for a girlfriend, he just may not have been totally aware of his reasoning as to what was drawing him to visit.

  236. I think that he was curious about her. Merry Christmas!!

  237. michelle covington

Curiosity almost killed him but there was something more even from that day on his boat. Chemistry is a strange and wonderfull thing and Marshall (perhaps subconsciencely) was drawn to witchie poo Rachel. And it was not to be buddies! Cmon Marshman! You wanted a piece of that dangerous beautiful fruit

  238. Shelley M.

I think he was curious, maybe hoping for something with Rachel, but wasn’t man enough for her.

  239. Corina

I think he was curious, and after seeing Rachel again, started thinking possible girlfriend – but I don’t think the started out thinking that!!

  240. Kim

    I love all your books.

  241. Sarah Jane DeLeon

I think he was curious about her and that was leading him to want more, but her life is challenging and always has something happening! It would have been an interesting hook up if only for a while :)

  242. Kerry Ly

I think he was looking for a girlfriend.

  243. Thomas

I definitely think he was looking for a girlfriend. I just am not sure he was aware of it/in denial of the fact or not.

  244. I think Marshall was intrigued and interested, but had no idea what he was getting into: Rachel’s a whole lotta badasp for any man.

  245. Rob Smith

    Girlfriend!

  246. Wendy Bailey

    Definitely looking for a girlfriend!

  247. tarakianwarrior

Subconsciously? He was looking. Consciously? He was curious. :D

  248. Beth

    yep, looking for a girlfriend.

  249. verra

Oh yeah, I think that Marshall came to town just for Rachel.

  250. I don’t think he knew what he wanted

  251. Stephanie Ivy

I thought Marshal was looking for a girlfriend. I think he thought that Rachel was fun and exciting and he could save a damsel in distress with her.

  252. Kelli Kohrherr

I think he was looking for a girlfriend, but having Rachel as a significant other would take a lot or work.

  253. I love all these tid bits and questions. It makes me more curious about this series everytime I read it. :)

  254. NancyLynn Southard

I think it was both, that he was curious & he wanted a relationship, but he really didn’t know Rachel & how dangerous & crazy she & her lifestyle was/is, which is saying a lot ’cause he did see what see did @ the island.

  255. Mic R.

It seems a bit of both. Marshall sure found Rachel interesting and he may have wanted to get to know her better as friends and see if it may lead to something more in the future.

  256. Mel K.

He came across as being curious at first, but couldn’t deny being physically attracted to her later on (and sadly couldn’t handle the complete awesomeness that makes Rachel who she is & her complexities in life). He seemed to have this ‘I’ll save you’ hero complex towards the end. Does anyone recall Rachel seeing him with a redhead later on in the next book?

  257. I can’t wait to read the next one. I am all for Trent and Rachel!

  258. Michelle Kirby

I think Marshal was looking for someone fun to hang out with ( to maybe turn into a relationship later down the road). But he couldn’t handle the chaos that is Rachel’s life. It’s a shame he couldn’t accept her for who and what she is because he was a really nice guy.

  259. i think Marshall was intrigued by Rachel.. because she just has that “THING” about her that you can’t quite put your finger on, but you know there’s something different and special about her. and i DO think he was hoping for a relationship.. but he just bit off more than he could chew. his loss totally lol. but hey. as they say, you have to kiss a lot of frogs…. ;)

  260. Sue Mac

As much as I liked Marshal and was really hoping they could work out, I am now totally Team Trent!

  261. I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend, necessarily. I think he was probably just a bit lonely and found Rachel incredibly intriguing (who wouldn’t?).

  262. Carrie Morrison

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend when he knocked on Rachel’s door.

  263. I think he was looking for a girlfriend, told himself he was just satisfying his curiosity, but panicked when he got more than he bargained for.

  264. I haven’t read it yet but can’t wait too! Last one read was white witch black curse.

  265. I’m in the “wasn’t looking for a girlfriend” camp.

  266. Bel

I think it might have been a little of both. Its Rachel, who wouldn’t be a little curious! Have a Merry Christmas!!

  267. Nicole Hallam

I’m not sure he knew what he was looking for. Rachel is definitely more than he expected…way more and completely awesome.

  268. TJ

Rachel is a very unique girl. Even if Marshal wasn’t looking for girlfriend, I think Rachel is a girl you can’t pass up. I think he was both curious and wanted a girlfriend!

  269. david dumanski

In my opinion Marshal was looking for a girlfriend when he came a knocking :)

  270. I think he was looking for a girlfriend, but Rachel was way more than he could handle lol

  271. i think Marshal didnt know what he wanted

  272. Alexis

I think Marshal was looking for something fun and friendly to turn into a relationship down the road. I think he was first and foremost attracted to/curious about Rachel when they first met.

I think Marshal and Rachel would have gotten along well if he: 1. Manned up, 2. Accepted her for who she was.

It’s a shame, really. He was such a nice guy (but Trent is and will always be my first choice). ;)

  273. I’m really not sure I or he knew his own mind at that moment.

  274. Eva

I think he was looking for something with Rachel, but maybe not a long time comitment (at least not at first)!

  275. christina

I think its a little of both, I think he really likes Rachel but deep down hes a little scared.

  276. Terianne Potter

Curiosity, guys delude themselves on this subject often.

  277. Tanya Gehm

I think Marshall was trying to satisfy his curiosity as well as a girlfriend that he could play knight in shining armor to. One of my favorite books in the series :)

  278. Jenah

I think he was looking for what he stated he thought a girlfriend should be. Rachel may have piqued his interest with what happened in Mackinaw, but wicked girls who save themselves make relationships hard on white knights.

  279. Not sure if he was really looking ,but Rachel has a way of attracting men …love all your covers and would love to get this set ….cant wait for the next book <3

  280. jude

no, marshall was just …doing his duty and maybe curious…i don’t think any romantic thought would have entered his head..well not the one on his shoulders…

  281. Yanina

Oh, no, I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend in the least.

  282. Tonya Siford

Haven’t read it yet, but have read the other books and from past ones, marshal was prob looking to at least fill some inner curiosity with Rachel, who wouldn’t, look at what she is and what she does, so he was looking to date her to take a walk onto the wild side!

  283. Amy K. Delaney

I thought he was looking for a girlfriend. He liked when he met her and now wanted to reintroduce himself since he moved and wanted a girl.

  284. April

Oh, poor Marshal. He was definitely in over his head. I don’t think even he knew what he wanted. He is a man, afterall. :) Rachel would have tired of him.

  285. Janine

I think he was definitely looking for a girlfriend.

  286. Diana

I think he was looking for a girlfriend but he was also curious about Rachel. I need to read the books again. :). They are great.

  287. Sarina Cella

its been a while since I’ve read this book and I’m a book behind in the read a long. I think it might have been a bit a both though. I also really like this cover!

  288. I think he was. Your covers are always amazing!!

  289. I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend, but maybe hoping.

  290. Brenda Allen

I think he was looking for a girlfriend. He acted like he was and seemed truly taken aback when he realized just how far out of the norm Rachel really was. He wasn’t really the right fit but he was a good choice for her to try the walk on the “good side”.

  291. Amanda Brubaker

Rachel was just too intimidating for Marshall!

  292. Melanie sharp

I think he was looking for a girlfriend.

  293. I definitely think he was looking.

  294. Shanon Holmes

I think he was very interested in Rachel and the spark between them to bad he couldn’t make it work.

  295. I haven’t read it but I love the cover. The red is amazing!

  296. More satisfying his curiosity but not opposed to the idea.

  297. Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend!!!!

  298. Tina C.

I think most good characters, much like people often have more than one motivation for doing things. In this case I think Marshall was looking to date his curiosity and also was looking at Rachel as a potential girlfriend.

  299. dr4nsk

I think his curiosity got the best of him. Then again, who wouldn’t want to date Rachel???!

  300. Teri Killoran

I’m pretty sure he was looking for a girlfriend but I could be wrong. I don’t really get him

  301. Jessica Raley

I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but cant wait till I have a chance.

  302. Victoria Iuliucci

I think he was curious because Rachel is different in such a good way. He might have entered a relationship with her because of that, but I’m not entirely convinced he did it because he was solely looking for a relationship.

  303. Tim Osborne

    def. wanted a girlfriend

  304. Still on my to-read list. Always impressed with your covers!

  305. Alex Alonzo

I think Marshal was both, looking for a girlfriend and curious! I loved the cover. It was cool, you can really tell Rachel is growing up and maturing.

  306. Angela Mercurio-Gielens

I think he was looking for a girlfriend. Having a steady job in a new place, I reckon he thought Rach would be someone to settle down with. Pity he turned out to be a cowardly flake.

  307. Nicole Crawford

I think he was looking for that excited spark again. He thought he’d feel that adrenaline fueled craziness from before. He wasn’t looking for a girlfriend so much as the rush.

  308. I think Marshall is an “Alpha Male” and wasn’t looking for a girlfriend-partner, as he needs to be “in charge”. He was looking for some “arm candy”, someone who likes to tag along (he needs that person to be :”involved” or “like” what he does, how he does it, and really needs an audience), but he needs them to “understand” him so he doesn’t get all tangled up in explaining why he is so involved in what he does. He definitely did NOT want someone who has their own agenda, especially an agenda that explodes on its own power and is possibly “more important”. Although he “approves” of who Rachel is, he probably thinks she is too high maintenance. (Can you see Rachel having dinner ready for when he comes home, and asking “how was your day, dear?” I can’t!)

  309. He wasn’t looking but because he helped Rachel, they burned down his business….but he did end up wanting her,…till she got shunned…

  310. Chelsea S.

I think he was just curious to begin with, but I think he went in with the thought that if she happened to turn into a girlfriend he would so be okay with it.

  311. Nici B.

I think it was a bit of both, maybe just for a date. Wanting to see what could and would happen…

  312. Tim Porter

    One of my favorites.

  313. karina vargas

I think he was looking for a girlfriend but also was curious about her at the sam time .

  314. Falicia

I think he was looking for something just got more then he was ready to handle with Rachel.

  315. Angie E.

A little of both..but with Rachel..it always ends up as more…lol

  316. Heather

Marshal seemed to me to be interested in at least dating Rachel.

  317. regan hinson

marshal was definatly looking for a girlfriend. I think he was looking for excitement after what all happened at Lake Macannaw. Jenks and ivy where smart and knew it from the beginning.

  318. Shalva

I don’t think he was but Rachel is an intriguing character that drew him in.

  319. Blaine Lee

I have yet to read it but the cover of it looks amazing.

  320. He was kidding himself by saying he wasn’t looking for a girlfriend!

  321. He was looking for a girlfriend or Rachel intrigued him really bad so he wanted a one night with her. Who knows..I never liked that guy, I think he is a coward.

  322. Megan Baxter

I think he was curious about a lot of things. I don’t think he was looking for anything serious. But..he’s a man. Which means he may not have been looking for anything serious, but he may have been looking for something….non-serious. ;)

  323. rinib

He probably was, but not sure if Rachel was it.

  324. Cheryl

I think he was hoping that a possible date might turn out to be more… if he even thought that far ahead.

  325. Shawn

I don’t think Marshall had any idea what he wanted!

  326. Kim Keller

Marshal doesn’t think Rachel is good enough for him. Rachel doesn’t need Marshal. She needs to be with Trent

  327. Amy Colon

I think Marshall went there intending to ask her out to see if it would or could go anywhere. I think she caught his interest and he wanted to see where it would go. I don’t think he wanted a girlfriend but he definitely was interested.

  328. Jessie Hatem

I think he just wanted to reconnect with a friend. Sometimes, things just… develop.

  329. Trudy

I believe he needed a friend in a new town, but wasn’t against more developing.

  330. Adrienne

he wasn’t being honest with himself, but was looking for a gf… he wasn’t worthy of Rachel anyway.

  331. i think marshall was looking for a date. maybe not a girlfriend necessarily, but a date definately!

  332. Of COURSE Marshall was looking for a girlfriend – how could he meet Rachel and NOT want her???

  333. Elaine Pearson

Sometimes what is fated just happens. He may not have been looking…?

  334. Liz Sherer

I think he was looking for something. He just wasn’t sure what.

  335. It’s hard to imagine Marshal wasn’t open to the possility. I think his savior mentality was in high gear what with Rachel’s tendency to get in ttrouble, but the rush of being with someone as exciting as she is was tempered by her independent nature and the fact that Rachel doesn’t really like to be saved.

  336. badwolfjen

I think he was looking for a girlfriend. I just don’t think he was afret the right type of girlfriend.

  337. I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend that he could make more traditional. I think he was attracted to Rachel’s adventurous spirit but when he realized that’s the norm with her and not an exception it became too much for him to handle. I think no man wants to admit he can’t handle the challenge but after awhile even he had to admit “defeat.” Honestly he would never have had it in him to keep up with her anyway. No harm, no foul.

  338. Alexandra Sykakis

Of course we has looking for a girlfriend

  339. James Hanson

My fiance loves these books… hoping to win to give to her

  340. He was interested…end of.

  341. jennifer sparkman

Omg…i cant wait til February. .. i live this series. Marshal is totally looking for something but dont think he was expecting Rachel, lol. I think you’re great ms. Harrison!

  342. Michael Murphy

Yes – Marshal is looking for a life-partner. He feels a kindred soul with her.

  343. Ellie

Yes, I think he was looking for a grilfriend though I amnot sure how much he admitted that to himself.

  344. Cherry

He was definitely looking for a girlfriend!

  345. i think he wanted to play the knight in shining armor with the damsel in distrss succumbing to his charms^^$

  346. jenny

He was totally looking for a girlfriend.

  347. Lizzy G.

I think Marshall was looking for something. Perhaps not a relationship, but definetly at least a date, and then backed off once he saw an easy date wasn’t going to happen.

  348. Kirsty

I definitely think he was interested in her, part of it was satisfying his curiosity but most of it was sexual attraction

  349. trish ely

I Think A LIl Of Both. He Was IntrIged By Rachel AnD Wanted To Know About Her But Also Yes He Liked Her

  350. Katherine S.

I think Marshall was looking to hook up with Rachel, someone who always needs “saving”… lol.

  351. yes, he was looking for a girlfriend!!

  352. Love this series I so wanna win. Love your books

  353. sarah

I don’t think he was looking for one but met Rachel and got curious.

  354. havent been able to read it yet, but I love love love the cover and cant wait to read it, prolly be the first thing I read when I get my table for my birthday

  355. staci

    It’s a very pretty cover,very sexy!

  356. Was Marshal looking for a girlfriend when he came a-knocking? Absolutely! Who could resist Rachel?!? Poor Marshal was smitten from the moment he saw her, not to mention she needed help and he was definitely the “save the girl” kind of guy.. at least for a little while. :)

  357. Lisa

Oh, Marshal was surely looking to get hot ‘n heavy with Rachel, and definitely looking to get a relationship going!

  358. Yes, I think he was looking for a girlfriend.

  359. Marshal was looking for a girlfriend

  360. Jennifer Mackey

I think he was for sure looking for a romantic thing. What man isn’t looking at Rachel for a relationship once they lay eyes on her.

  361. He was looking for a GF for sure.

  362. Curiosity killed the cat, so I would have to say……looking, shopping, wanting, needing, something like that. LOL

  363. I think he was just using curiosity as an excuse and was really looking for a girlfriend. After all, he didn’t believe Jenks was a pixy made human size.

  364. Jessica

Yes he was looking for a girlfriend!

  365. Jennifer

Absolutely, he was looking for a romantic hookup with our girl Rachel. He proved to be a good influence even though…(no spoilers)

  366. Amanda H.

Like many men, not all, Marshal had a hero complex he could use with Rachel. He just did not realize what all he was in for.

  367. LaWanda Hurst

I think Marshal was trying to be a knight in shining armor, thought Rachel could make him less safe, and had a secret desire to tame the sexy itchy witch and make her his.

  368. Paula

yes Marshal wanted to know more

  369. Jana Leah

Yes, Marshal was looking for a girlfriend. Thanks for the giveaway.

  370. Deanna Zinn

I got my Tour Tee on Saturday…..whee! Love this one!

  371. Jessica

I think he was looking for a girlfirend! =)

  372. Janis

My sister has gotten me started reading these books. Wow, what an imagination Kim has! I’m only on book 3, but hope to catch up soon. Thanks for offering this prize.

  373. Mary Kate

He wanted a girlfriend and someone he could take care of

  374. Rachel sternberg

My stupid iPhone sent the message before I was finished!!! Marshal wanted a girlfriend but he was too conventional and she needs someone with a little more natural wildness (Elfin!!).

  375. tiggerknitter

I think he was curious to see if Rachel would work out as his damsel in distress girlfriend.

  376. Kendra

Marshal was definitely looking for a girlfriend, and he had that whole Knight-In-Shining-Armor mentality. He did not realize what being in Rachel’s life would entail, and that she preferred to rescue herself.

  377. Shana Z

Marshal was definitely curious about this kick ass chick. Danger is exciting! He just didn’t know Rachels potential to attract it…

  378. Michelle

I think Marshal was curious with the potential of it being more.

  379. Erin Kane

I think it was a bit of both. He was satisfying his curiosity, and if he could score himself a girlfriend in the process, that was a bonus! He thought Rachel was hot, but not hot enough to make the trip all the way to The Hollows just to see her. He needed another reason.

  380. Vic

I’m not sure Marshall knew what he wanted but was drawn to Rachel.

  381. Cheryl Kesner

I think it was a little bit of both. It was good while it lasted, I suppose.

  382. Sabrina Morgan

Marshal was looking to have a go with Rachel. To bad he turned into a little wimpy boy. That’s OK we like pointy ears better anyway.

  383. Diane

I think hew was looking for a date. Had he been looking for a g/f he would have been able to stand up for her when things got bad. It was not surprising he ended up with a safe g/f later. Kim, when you wrote him, you only saw him as walk in didn’t you? Marshal is the oppisite of the ghost with the most to me.

  384. I think Marshall was looking for a girlfriend. He knew what Rachel was like from his encounter in Mackinaw, and he was looking for adventure and a damsel in distress for him to rescue.

  385. Danielle

I think he was hoping he overreacted about everything that “went wrong” the first time and that she was actually his type of girlfriend material after all.

  386. Jennifer

Marshall was very interested in Rachel. She wasn’t like any witch he had ever met. He was just not able to stand by her after the shunning. He wasn’t invested enough.

  387. April Shields

Marshall was certainly curious about Rachel. I think he was entertaining the possibility of a promising and exciting relationship.

  388. Cassie Robertson

Absolutely he was looking for a girlfriend in Rachel.

  389. Nicole

I think it was both. He was looking for a girlfriend and he was curious about Rachael. He just wasn’t aware on what being with her involved.

  390. Crystal Dinwiddie

Yes I think Marshall was looking for a girlfriend.

  391. Angela

I believe Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, but he may not have wanted to admit that to himself.

  392. Kelly Pirson

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend but Rachel’s to much for him

  393. I still think Marshal was more than interested in seeing if she really worked there. She was exciting, unexpected and out of the box gal from his old stomping grounds so hell why not check her out and have some fun maybe. she had already proved she wasn’t boring by no means.

  394. inkie

I believe he was looking for a girlfriend, but he still wasn’t entirely sure Rachel wasn’t crazy. He told her he wasn’t looking to buy himself some time to check out her life and make up his mind. He probably thought it would be easier to let her down gently if she believed it was never serious anyway.

  395. Darleen ferguson

I think that deep down, he did want a gf.

  396. Sarah

He was definitely interested, that’s for sure!

  397. Christina

Yes, I believe he was looking for a girlfriend. Someone he could connect with and protect.

  398. Kevin

I think Marshall is a really caring person and wanted to check on her to be sure she was OK after the incident with the Mackinaw Weres. He was not long out of a relationship and in a new city, so he was probably just looking for a friend to help him settle into the area.

  399. Mary Harmon

Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend. Rachel was the most exciting woman he had ever met. Why wouldn’t he want to be with her? Marshall had so much potential….

  400. Cat 584

I think Marshal was not truly looking for a girlfriend right away but was open to beginning a casual relationship that might go in that direction later–particularly if it was someone he could protect.

  401. kerri mckeithan

Oh yeah! He was definitely interested.

  402. Cassandra Eppard

I think he was looking for a girlfriend

  403. Ami M.

    I’m not sure he was.

  404. Sarah

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend when he came knocking on Rachel’s door.

  405. Jen

I think he was curios, but he wanted a relationship too. He just didn’t want to work for it as hard as Rachel’s relationships require.

  406. Stacey

In my opinion Marshall was more than satisfying his curiosity, but I wouldn’t go far enough to say he was seeking a relationship. Seeking Rachel shows he was curious about her, and the brief access to her life he had been given. Marshall was unable to accept Rachel for her power and temperament, and I think Marshall knew from the start it wouldn’t result in a happy ending.

  407. Sarah Cushard

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend, but he certainly bit off more than he could chew. Rachel has that effect on a lot of people, and that’s why I love the series.

  408. Marshall was doing both, he had to satisfy his curiosity but at the same time had hopes she’d be a possibility for becoming a girlfriend. And the cover art work is definitely HOT!!!!!. We love Rachel in leather.

  409. melissa acquaviva

I think it was both, he was curious about Rachel thinking maybe she’ll be his girl but he couldn’t handle her.

  410. Meliss

There was definite chemistry there so Marshal was looking for a girlfriend. Especially one he thought he could help rescue. But where Rachel is concerned people are drawn to “satisfying” there “curiosity” about her. Which again leads to the whole thinking she’s a damsel in distress that needs to be saved.

  411. Sue

Wouldn’t you want to go back and see if you could save Rachel?? Of course! Marshall was more than curious, but didn’t like the result.

  412. Paula

Yes, but didn’t expect what he found in Rachel

  413. Linda

    Yes I think he was

  414. I think it was more curiosity than anything else. Knocking on Rachel Morgan’s door is a lot like peeking behind the curtain to see the Great & Powerful Oz…

  415. Nichole Zito

Oh Marshal was definitely looking for a girlfriend! He got way more than he bargained for with Rachel.

  416. Jennifer Sanchez

He was totally looking for a girlfriend.

  417. I think he was definitely looking for a hook-up and was hoping it would turn into more. But, he just couldn’t handle Rachel’s life so he ran away :(

  418. I believe it was both. Marshall was curious about Rachel but also interested in having a possible relationship with her. I loved Marshall. He was a cool character.

  419. MellyM

Yep! Definitely looking for a gf and got WAY more than he thought with Rachel!!

  420. Gordana

I suspect Rachel was more of a curiosity than anything.

  421. Definitely looking for a boyfriend.

  422. Laura Stratton

I think his curiosity got the better of him but in the back of his mind girlfriend was a possibility when he saw what chaos her life was he got a little scared

  423. I think Marshall was so looking for a girlfriend though he may have not realized it himself.

  424. Laurie Decker

Yes, he was looking. I think she intrigued him.

  425. Marshal, like most men, was just looking. A beautiful woman crossed his path and he did more than just look.

  426. Marshall was looking for a girlfriend. Him and Rachel hit it off on their first meeting. She is someone who is different and exciting. He is drawn to this aspect of her but also afraid of it.

  427. Earl C

He was totally redhead enraptured. :)

  428. Shannon Newman

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend.

  429. Emily Flora

I think he was bored and ready for a change. I think he may have been looking for a girlfriend, but because that is probably what he usually does with someone he likes.

  430. Is there a difference?

  431. Martha

I don’ think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend.

  432. Stacy Horn

He was deffinatly looking for a girlfriend. Maybe only one he could “save.” Sad he couldn’t handle Rachel’s strength, I liked him.

  433. Brandy Rea

Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend. He may have been in denial but he was looking.. he just couldn’t hang with the big girls and boys

  434. Candace Mantyk

I don’t think he was looking

  435. Edel leonard

    Oh defo was

  436. Christy L

Marshal, Marshal Marshhaalll! I think it was 60/40 curiosity vs attraction.

  437. you know im still unsure what he was looking for. because at the first time it got hard he ran for the hills. so he could have just went to see what would happen between them then couldn’t handle it and decided that it was just too much for him to handle.

  438. Marjorie

Who really knows what any man is really looking for

  439. Not sure Marshal knew what he was looking for, but definitely curious!

  440. Jenny T

I think he was satisfying a curiosity but there is an attraction there. I think he wanted to see how things go

  441. Elyse Stevens

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, Rachel was just too awesome for him to handle.

  442. I think she was too interesting for him to pass up, whether he thought he was looking or noe

  443. Kevin Smith

    It was merely curiosity.

  444. Kelli L.

I think Marshal was satisfying his curiosity. I don’t think he knew if he was looking for a girlfriend in Rachel.

  445. Heather Yilmaz

I think he was subconciously looking for a girlfriend, but wouldn’t let himself look to hard at that.

  446. Beth Fetterman

He might not have been looking for a girlfriend but he was definetly sniffing around. I think he was attracted to her the first time he met her and though what the heck, let’s see what happens! :)

  447. Jessica Trapani

Marshal was intrigued by Rachel, following his curiousity and finding out she really was exactly what she said she was definitely flipped the switch. I really liked Marshal, it was a shame that he couldn’t be stronger for Rachel, to be able to stand next to her in the midst of her chaos. Someone more like Kist or Trent. I really hope Rachel is able to find the love she deserves and gets to keep it for more than a breathe. :)

  448. Maria

For sure curious. But really, who could “not” fall for Rach??

  449. chania brodie

Absolutely intrigued & fascinated! Have a great holiday Kim! Can’t wait for you to return to SAcramento!

  450. Samantha Newbury

I think it was a little bit of both. Curiosity, but he defiantly felt an attraction.

  451. Frances Baker

I think it was both kinda. He was curious and wanted to know more about her and when he did he became interested. White knight syndrome stuff.

  452. Brittany Jordan

I would say satisfying his curiosity. He was interested and wanted to see where things would go.

  453. Ruth

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, but wasn’t willing to take the risk of being in a relationship with Rachael.

  454. Crish Cottrill

Marshall was probably looking for a girlfriend. Rachel is obviously unique enough to pique his interest. To satisfy his curiosity was a coy reason for Rachel not to think that his interest in her was more involved.

  455. Chung

I think he didn’t even know what he really wanted, but well.. maybe he was searching for the girlfriend.

  456. Roxanne Carlson

I think he was looking for a girlfriend at the time.

  457. Diana L.

I think he was satisfying his curiosity. He did not know Rachel well enough to be looking for a girlfriend. He definitely liked what he saw though.

  458. Darlene

I think he was curious if there was a possibility they could hook up.

  459. Marianna

He was attracted to her. Probably wanted to see if they could go anywhere with that. I dunno how optimistic he was, curiosity drove him for sure.

  460. I think he just wanted to see where it would go. If he got a girlfriend out of it great.

  461. Cathy Rowland

I think Marshall was truly interested in Rachel he just had no way of knowing what being with her would have entailed. Sadly it was more than he was willing to give, but Rachel always rises to the top!

  462. Emily B

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend until they met.

  463. Yes he was looking for a girlfriend, having the “white knight” complex I think he thought Rachel would fall and be quite pliable.

  464. Kelly b

    Girlfriend!

  465. Elizabeth De La Rosa

Hey may not have wanted a relationship but he wanted Rachael.

  466. kristina

Yes, I think he was looking for a girlfriend!

  467. heather

I think in the beginning yes it was more curiosity then anything else but there was definitely the possibility of it turning into more from the beginning.

  468. Derek

Been too long since I read – think a read through is due. I do love the cover though …. is far better than the UK cover.

  469. Triplecat2002

I think he is very interested by her and intrigued.

  470. Christine

I would say a little of both. Curious but also attracted to Rachel.

  471. I definitely think it was a case of a cat with curiosity. He was curious !

  472. s. b

i think it was “lets see what happens” .. and IF something did happen great if not than he move on!

  473. Kharen H.

Absolutely. He wanted a girlfriend, but I think Rachel was more than he bargained for.

  474. Candi Terrill

I think it was one of those things, where you meet someone and at odd times you think of them, Dispite not really knowing them well. I think he wanted to know if his thoughts were based on the real person, or on his ‘memories in hindsight’. A relationship was a possibility, but not the focus.

  475. Katie

I think he had hopes for more and was wanting her but I don’t think that was his sole reasoning.
Two birds one stone. Maybe a partnership with the sexy itchy witch.
I think curiosity was a reasoning too, to see what was goin.

  476. Catie

I totally think he was looking to hook up with Rachel

  477. adelle medberry

    yep.

  478. Kate Raney

I don’t think that he was actively looking for a girlfriend but was really intrigued with Rachel and would take her however he could. He (wisely) saw that ‘not looking for a girlfriend’ would get him farther towards getting to know her.

  479. Trisha

I think he was going off an emotion he didn’t fully understand himself, a mix of curiosity and attraction.

  480. Angelina

I think Marshal had the hots for Rachel and didn’t know what he wanted.
Also the new cover looks awesome!

  481. Jessica

I think Marshall was primarily curious about Rachel.

  482. I think Marshal was definitely interested but Rachel was just too much for him to handle.

  483. Danielle DePietro

I think he was interested in her but got in way over his head.

  484. I think Marshal was completely interested in Rachel..

  485. Omar

I think it was just curiosity and yes a little bit of attraction.

  486. Ashley Ainsworth

I think a little of both. I think he was curious but Rachel is also hot so I’m sure dating her went through his mind a time or two ;)

  487. Karine

I think that initially Marshal was just curious about who Rachel was (and whether or not Jenks was a pixy!)… Who wouldn’t he given the crazy situation in which he met them? However, I think that like Rachel, Marshal fell in love with Rach once he got closer to her!
    Karine

  488. Margaret

I think he was certainly hoping maybe not seriously expecting it.

  489. Marshall was very interested in Rachel!

  490. I think he *thought* he was being curious.

  491. Kristine Shore

I think he was intrigued and attracted, but didn’t necessarily think of Rachel as a girlfriend.

  492. Katie Umland

I haven’t read the books yet, but the covers look really cool! They definitely pull your attention in.

  493. Jamie

It was definitely a bit of both.

  494. Chrystal Swanson

Whether good or bad and whether they realize it or not, Rachel draws everyone to her when they meet.

  495. Heather fowler

I kinda think a little of both. I think he did not know what he wanted but looking back i think he wanted the girlfriend.

  496. Crystal T

It started as curiosity as to have a witch for a GF and then he got in way deeper than he imagined and couldn’t deal with it.

  497. Katherine Jenks

Yes, I think he was looking for a girlfriend, or at least a date.

  498. rebecca blinn

    Me please. *fingers crossed*

  499. Amy Hudson

    Marshal wanted Rachel.

  500. Shannon

Yes, I think he was definitely looking for a girlfriend!

  501. Candice

Both…he had the hots for rachel…

  502. Javinder

I think he was looking for a girlfriend, but didn’t want to admit it to himself.

  503. A little of both I believe, love all your books!

  504. DeAnna Smith

    I believe he was curious.

  505. Steph

I think both. I believe he knew he’d never have her on his terms. They had a connection of chemistry on one level but he is too afraid to either move from his comfort zones or just isn’t the man to have a woman that doesn’t need the same things he wanted to provide. She is more independent and capable than I feel his personality could ever accept long term. Rachel is… well RACHEL! And for the all the bits of extra trouble that causes her at times, I wouldn’t want her to be any other way. I love that Itchy Witch! We all know who her man really is, in her heart, I believe… she should always look in there!

  506. Tara Farrell

I honestly believe it was more curiousity than anything else.

  507. Lisa Tillen

He was looking for a girlfriend. Rachel just ended up being more than he could handle. :)

  508. Janet H

Marshal was definitely looking for a girlfriend! Rachel was just too much for him.

  509. I believe Marshall was looking for a girlfriend. He showed an interest in Rachel when they first met, so much so he remembered where she was from so he could look her up when he got the opportunity.

  510. Beth Rosser

I think Marshal was just satisfying his curiosity.

  511. Marshall was interested in Rachel as potential girlfriend material. He was checking her out on the boat before she went to save Nick.
He was also amazed that she made it out. Smart, sassy, sexy… Oh yea, he wanted to be with her.

  512. It’s been so long since I read it, I don’t remember. Love the cover, though!

  513. Michelle Darbonne

I’m with everyone on this. I think he was curious and i think if the opportunity came up with something more serious, he would have taken it.

  514. I think he was totally looking even if at the very least the interest was subconscious!

  515. I think he was indulging his curiosity, and got in deeper than he imagined.

  516. Traci Lecheler

Marshall was curious about Rachel’s potential to be his girlfriend!

  517. Lisa Brockwell

I haven’t got to read the book yet but the cover screams of danger, mystery and hot sexuality! Can’t wait to read it!

  518. Zochi

Yes he was. Rachel left an impression and he wanted to check her out.

  519. More curiosity than anything else.

  520. DAulan Collins

I think it was both, the curiosity was just eating him alive, but at the same time I think he found her attractive and wanted to get to know her a lot better.

  521. Cathy Wicks

I think he was curious but also looking even though he said he wasn’t. I also think it was a good thing for Rachel to let Marshal in so she could grow in the realization that “normal” would never work for her.

  522. Rebecca Hollingsworth

I think that Marshall was looking for someone that could handle the bad in him but he realized that Rachel was more than he could handle. Love the stories. Thanks so much.

  523. Martin

He’s a guy; of course he’s looking for a girlfriend!

  524. Beth

Just started this series and am already on book 4. Love getting to know Rachel and her world and I am definitely hooked. New cover looks great – can’t wait to get there!! It’s awesome finding such a generous author. :)

  525. Tabitha L

Honestly I’m torn. Most likely both.

  526. Oh my, it takes a long time to scroll to the text box on a busy day.
I think he was intrigued after meeting her and wanted to know more about her.

    V^^^^V

  527. Dyan

I think it was a little bit of both with Marshal. He wasn’t really looking for a girlfriend but if the situation presented itself, I’m almost sure he would have taken it.

  528. Becca

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend exactly, but I do think he was drawn to her romantically.

  529. Teal Craint

I would have to say he entertained the idea but isn’t feeling it 100%

  530. I think Marshall was curious and intrigued by Rachel. Maybe not looking for a girlfriend, but definitely interested in seeing what she was getting up to.

  531. Emily

I think he was intrigued by her.

  532. When Marshall came calling for Rachel, he was looking for a friend with the possibility of the relationship turning serious. Their relationship blossomed into a solid friendship that both were at first hesitant to overstep. When they did the power exchange, POW, there were the serious I want more from you feelings on both sides. Who knows where this relationship could have gone, if Rachel hadn’t been shunned. It just wasn’t meant to be. Marshall never forgets Rachel. Thank for this fabulous giveaway.! :-) And, yeah, I got my t-shirt on last Friday! Thank you, Guy!!!

  533. Oh yes! Marshal was looking for a girlfriend. Rachel intrigued him for sure, but he just seems like the type of guy who needs a woman to look after and take care of. Did he pick the wrong one with Rachel!

  534. Karon Miller

I think he was too intrigued not to show up. Something about her rang his chimes whether he wanted to admit it or not.

  535. Kerri Satterfieldo

Oh, he was totally looking for a GF!

  536. It’s all Rachel’s fault really. Not every guy can deal with a church full pixies, a vampire, demons, werewolves, and a love of tomatoes. Only a very special guy can live, love and stay with Rachel. He has to appreciate her for all of her Rachelness, because of, not despite of, all of her past. “If he can’t deal, pbbbbbbbbttttt, you didn’t need him anyway Rache!”

  537. Tricia Russell

Marshall is an idiot and Rachel is better off without him!

  538. Chrystal

He was looking for a girlfriend but maybe trying too convince even himself that he wasn’t.

    • Chrystal Swanson

Your name is spelled the same as mine! I’ve only met one other person in my whole life with the same spelling as me! [: neat :]

  539. Tina

I am a bit behind on the reread, but I never thought of Marshall as a serious boyfriend contender for Rachel. Especially how he reacted when things for Rachel got worse…

  540. Jen Montgomery

I was never a fan of Marshal. He was more curious about Rachel than anything..

  541. Susan Rhyne

Not sure if he was looking per say. But I think he was definitely open to the option.

  542. Tim B

    A little bit of both

  543. Jen W.

I think it was a mix of both.

  544. Ashly Gottschalk

His interest was totally piqued. I mean hello, he’s a man and Rachel is hot.

  545. Bianca Dust

Uh… I like the cover…? I know I should be able to answer the question but my memory when it comes to books is like a goldfish. I do, however, remember that I wasn’t overly fond of Marshall… So, the cover is neat, and has an interesting mysterious vibe.

  546. He was looking for a girlfriend, even he didn’t though he was !

  547. I’ve got to say I think he travel to Cincy to try to date Rachel and either was scared off or chickened out. He liked her but I don’t think he truly realized what she does all the time. She sticks her neck out to get the job done. I think deep down he was attracted by the danger aspect but was hoping she was a “safe” girlfriend- someone who would go on dates with him and bake cookies- like a 50′s housewife.

  548. Christi Green

Both. I think he was looking for a girlfriend, whether he knew it or not. He was curious about Rachel, but I think it was a combination of romantic interest possibilities & Rachel herself.

  549. Carrie Williams

Marshal was looking to sweep sweet Rachel off her feet, and then found she was securely planted and didn’t need the help, not in that way.

  550. Peggy Acevedo

I think he was hedging his bets. I think he told himself it was just to satisfy his curiosity, but if something were to work out…..

  551. Jordan Buchanan

I think he wanted to satisfy his curiosity but in the back of his mind, he may have wanted more.

  552. Stephanie H.

I definitely think he was looking for a girlfriend or at least something more than friendship!

  553. Rachelle Resendez

I don’t think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend in Rachel, but he was looking for somebody.

  554. Cindy Custer

Haven’t read this one yet, but I love the cover as I do all the other ones in this series. The Hollows series is my all-time favorite series of books.

  555. I think he was just curious. As much fun as he had with Rachel and her mystique, I think he was just wondering if she was “real” and had to test the waters…

  556. Who can resist Rachel? Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, but it always nice to have a safety net of “Aw, I was just curious” to fall back on.

  557. He definitely was looking but he could tell Rachel would be scared off if he said that, so he got into her good graces as friends first and then took the chance.

  558. Evelyn

I think Marshall was looking for something…romance…adventure…something . What he got was Rachel, way more than he bargained for. He wanted someone to protect and take care of….sooo not Rachel.

  559. Kat Harrington

I think Marshal was both curious AND looking for a girlfriend that could, as well. take care of herself.

  560. Christine Hoff

I think he was looking for a girlfriend even if he didn’t realize it.

  561. Kelsey

    He was looking

  562. Danielle D.

I think that Marshall was intrigued and this made him hopeful for a possible future relationship.

  563. Caterina Trench Vidale

I think that he was – he might not have known it, but he was… :)

  564. KimR

Marshal was curious… they all are. He wouldn’t consciously admit/know that he was looking for a girlfriend.

  565. Linda Miller

I think it was a little of both.

  566. My entry: I have read a lot of your books, but haven’t gotten this far in the series yet. I love the the cover of the book though. It screams, Hot & Dangerous! I can’t wait to read it.

  567. I think that he was looking for a girlfriend. Too bad that didn’t work out.

  568. Cynthia Orr

I don’t think Marshall was looking for anything just curious.

  569. Laura K Thorpe

He was cautiously curious. Plus- he’s a man…she was a hot witch and he wanted to know more. But he just wasn’t strong enough for the long run, he wanted an easier life. :)

  570. I think Marshall was looking for a girlfriend, but I think his interest was only peaked because of Rachel :)

  571. Brandy

Marshal probably was looking for one but didn’t want to amit it.

  572. Lennie

Marshal was totally looking for a girlfriend.

  573. Heather Bt

No think he was just looking for a friend with something on the side. Think Rache was way too much problems for him. He wasn’t what she was looking for anyways. She was more into the idea of him then actually being with him. So better that he came n went.

  574. Kathleen

I think he was looking for a girlfriend, but talked himself out of it.

  575. Brenda Roach

No one expects more when satisfying their curiosity about Rachel but it always spells more.

  576. Heather

I think Marshal was intrigued by Rachel, and she set off his white knight complex. So maybe not consciously looking but subconsciously.

  577. Audrey Stewart

Yes, he was. How could one *not* be curious where Rachel is concerned? :)

  578. Caroline

I am on the 6th book in your series…… LOVE them :)

  579. Marian Ashton

Marshal was curious. He liked Rachel but at some point he realized that although Rachel would be a loyal and true friend her relationships couldn’t last that long. ( especially considering how crazy her life had become) However it all got twisted around because of his attraction for her and down the tabbit hole they fell. Besides that even though all of the warning signs told him to stay away who could say no to a red head with a “live dangeously” attiuted?

  580. Silja

I think Marshal really WAS looking for Rachel. First he was stunned by her because she’s got that overwhelming personality you can’t forget and all. Also he had that crazy ex-girlfriend and maybe he wanted to forget her.
I think the covers look cool, because you always see Rachel moving forward and it seems like she’s walking before you so you can watch every of her actions – what you really can do while reading. It’s interesting.

  581. Fran Lewis

Marshal was hoping to find a girlfriend, but wasn’t sure if he could fit in with the lifestyle.

  582. Liz

Yes I think he was but his ego got in the way.

  583. Valerie

I agree with some of the others. I think it was a little of both….

  584. Liz Scott

Marshal was looking to Rachael to be that girlfriend.

  585. Erica Matheson

I haven’t got to read this yet. But the cover is bad ass :-)

  586. David

I think a little bit of both.

  587. Yes, he really was. Rachel intrigued him, of course, she’s BADASS!!! But he just couldn’t handle her. He wanted to, hell, he did try, but it just wasn’t meant to be. They were there for each other when needed, but not for the long run. I like Marshal, I really do, good character. Maybe he will show back up for something. He IS good at having her back, though….

  588. These covers are terrific! And I think he was curious, then stumbled into something he didn’t expect.

  589. joachim h

he wasn’t looking for a girlfriend, at least not one that comes with the kind of strings Rachel has.

  590. Jolene Perkins

I like to think it was a little of both. He was curious and thinking “ehh, maybe we could try again.”

  591. Mike

He may have been satisfying his curiosity but seing Rachel makes anyone think long term

  592. Sally

I love the cover of all your books!! It has been so long since I had time for myself, to read for pleasure, I can’t remember what Marshall was looking for. But I would love the chance to win the book so I can read it again!

  593. rebecca navarro

I dont think he wanted the responsibility of a relationship so not looking for a girlfirend per say. I don’t really trust Marshall, not sure what he was looking for

  594. sabrina haslimeier

He was curious, how could you not be curious when it comes to Rachel?

  595. Barbara Danahy

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend but got so much more. 😉

  596. Sarah Price

I think Marshall was looking for a new girlfriend and a new adventure but Rachel just wasnt it.

  597. I think he was looking for a girlfriend, but he couldn’t handle being with her.

  598. Please i love your series! This would be a prefect holidat treat!

  599. Barb W

Rachel is one of those people who once you met them you can’t forget them. I think Marshal was intrigued by Rachel. To not try to find her again was not an option. I mean they way he met her, he had to have lingering questions. Was he looking for a girlfriend? I’m not sure. I think he just hasn’t forgotten her and needed to find her again.

  600. elizabeth martin

hmmm im not sure he was actively seeking a girlfriend or he was curious im saying some of both
    :-)

  601. Jodi

I don’t think he knew what he wanted.

  602. Raven

i Haven’t read this one yet. I’m on Book 3 “Every Which Way But Dead”… I can’t wait for the next books. <3

  603. Kiley M.

I think that it was mostly his curiosity, but also that they did have good chemistry and bonus, she was a witch.

  604. I think it was a little of both. Marshall was looking for a girl friend, (though he may not have acknowledged it himself) but he was also curious about Rachel and wanted to get to know her better.

  605. Brittany Bishop

I believe he thought he was satisfying his curiousity, but we all know how that works out for him lol

  606. Marshal was so looking to make Rachel the girlfriend when he came knocking on Rachel’s door

  607. Glenda Inscho

Yeah, I think he had the ‘can’t hurt to try, something might come of it’ attitude.

  608. I think that Marshall was satisfying his curiosity. Most definitely.

  609. Ana Fisic

I think he was curious, but open to more if she seemed like she wanted it

  610. JoAnn

I haven’t read it yet, I love the series but haven’t had a lot of time for reading. The cover is awesome and I’m going to the library today to see if they have the book so I can catch up.

  611. Amber

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, but things didn’t go as planned.

  612. Nikki Richardson

I love all the covers…I’m getting ready to Re-read all of them before the new book :)

  613. Thaís Balthazar

Yeah. I’m almost sure he was looking for a girlfriend.

  614. Heidi

I think he was looking for more. Maybe even he didn’t realize it at the time.

  615. Raulee

I think he was secretly hoping for a girlfriend but didn’t want to get his hopes up.

  616. Alyson

I think Marshal was looking for something, but I don’t think he knew exactly what he was looking for specifically. He did realize that Rachel was not what he was looking for.

  617. Siobhan

I think Marshall was looking for a girlfriend, but is trying to convince both Rachel and himself that he isn’t. Thanks for the giveaway! :-)

  618. Melanie Hamby

Mostly curiosity but then realized what a great person Rachel was wanted her as a girlfriend. Please pick me today’s my birthday and this would be the best present ever!

  619. Tess Wooten

I liked Marshal, but he wasn’t Rachel material. If she was looking to settle down then maybe he would be ok. But he was smart enough to leave, even if it was with regrets… I think he really liked her.

  620. Dora

Marshal was curious if Rachel was still as freaking awesome as he remembered. And of course she was, and par for the course, it scared the beejeezus out of him.

  621. it’s been so long since I read the book. I do love the covers for the whole series, though.

  622. Frederick Curry

Totally believe Marshal was just looking for a hook not a permanent girlfriend.

  623. Dawn

I thought he was curious. And hey, if it all worked out, great for him.

  624. Christy B.

Marshal was fulfilling a curiosity but wouldn’t have minded getting a girlfriend out of it.

  625. I think it was mostly his curiosity, but a little bit that they were compatible, her being a witch and all.

  626. Andrea

Maybe not a girlfriend, but definitely looking for something. I used to have the first five books but water damage claimed them.

  627. Amber Taaffe

I can’t wait for the new book!!!!!! Still my favorite series.

  628. Vicki Arce-Guillen

Marshal wanted to be the white knight, helping the damsel in distress, and find a potential mate. Poor guy.

  629. Ellie

I think Marshal was just satisfying his curiosity. Yes, he was definitely attracted to Rachel, but I don’t feel he’s the type to show up solely for that reason.

  630. Shirley

    I think he was curious.

  631. Jennifer Ramsey

He was looking for a girlfriend

  632. Angi H

I’ve avoided entering since I won one of the 1st packs, but the chance at a Kisten memorial arm-band is just too tempting!!
I definitely think Marshall was looking for a girlfriend. He was too easily tipped into that make-out session in the attic! LOL Thanks for the amazing world you’ve built, I love the Hollows and try to entice everyone I know to become a Hollows-junkie!!

  633. Matthew Tarpley

I agree with others that Marshal has a knight in shining armor complex, and while he may have been looking for a girlfriend…. Rachel is more than capable of saving herself (most of the time) and she usually wouldn’t admit it otherwise xD

  634. Liz M.

I think Marshall liked Rachel from Michigan, and since she asked him for help there, the whole “white knight” kicked in. He may not have been looking for a girlfriend, but when she was in trouble again, I think he wanted to help and protect her.

  635. Michelle Moriarty

I so love this series! It was great to meet you when you came to Denver last year.

  636. Kathy Brookes

It was a bit of both, for sure. It’s too bad she was too much for him. I really liked him at first

  637. Melicent Stossel

I think he was looking for a girlfriend, but just told himself he was satisfying curiosity to convince himself to go for it.

  638. Salem Smith

I think that he was looking for her. Whether it turned into a girlfriend thing was a bonus/challenge.

  639. Diana

He was at least looking to hook up if not a girlfriend

  640. Sandra

He was looking. Seriously trying to charm.

  641. Kelsey

Marshal was definitely looking for a girlfriend

  642. Becky Ross

He was looking for a girlfriend…whether he knew it or not himself. Why else we he show up ;)

  643. Jimena Inda

a little bit of both, trying to satisfy his curiosity and see if he could get a girlfriend, but he didn’t know what he was getting into.

  644. I think it was both. If you show up to someone’s house unannounced you are doing more than satisfying curiosity. You are looking at that person (i.e. Rachel) as a potential girlfriend. Marshall’ s mouth might have been saying he didn’t want a girlfriend. But his actions were clearly that of someone who was more than a little interested.

  645. He was definitely looking for a girlfriend. No question.

  646. lisa

He was definitely looking for a girlfriend but he was also curious. The chemistry was clear.

  647. I think he was looking for a hot little witch action! Which was a fun scene…but felt bad for Rache after he got spooked away!

this read a long has been great fun!!! I was able to get a few of my friends to finally get reading this series!!

  648. Definitely looking for a girlfriend. :)

  649. Mandy

Oh, I think he was interested…even if he didn’t think he was…

  650. KD Lee

Marshal was open to Rachel the moment they met. He needed her to be part of his life and he found a way to make that happen. Any denial on is part is delusional because he needed to be needed.

  651. James Clocksin

Haven’t read the book. As for the cover, chicks with guns are hot!

  652. neyCook

Your covers are amazing! And your play on words with the titles? I’m rollin’! The witticisms are plain awesomeness. You rock.

  653. Cindy R.

I haven’t read the book yet because I’m on a fixed income and book budget is tight. I think the cover is wicked! This would be an awesome Christmas present! Thanks for the opportunity.

  654. Stacie Drever

I think it was a little bit of both.

  655. Roxy West

I would say he may not of consciously been looking for a girlfriend, but something had him dwelling on it enough to actually come out to the church. And he did seem interested on the boat…

  656. Robin Hampton

Looking for a girlfriend. Did like their….ummm…encounter.

  657. I love your books have read every one of them <3

  658. Dianna Clark

Personally, I think that he just wanted to satisfy his curiousity.
    Merry Christmas.

  659. Angie

I, too, think he was looking for a girlfriend, but one that wasn’t as self-sufficient as Rachel. He wanted someone he could protect and be the man for.

  660. Courtney J

I think he was just curious. Very :)

  661. Sally

Of course he was interested, but had no idea what was coming his way by getting involved!

  662. Christina N

I really think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, he may have been curious but I think the girlfriend thing came first :) Who WOULDN’T want our Rach as a GF?!

  663. Yes, I di think he was llooking for a girlfriend, but didnt know what he was getting himself into LOL! Outlaw demon wails is one of my favorites!!

  664. heatwave316

I think he was definitely looking for a girlfriend. I honestly think I need to re-read the books. There are so many things I need to refresh. Or maybe Kim can come out with a cliffnotes for each book so I can just check that out before new books arrive. :) ~Indy

  665. Dawn Moore

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, but not necessarily a long term let’s settle down and get married gf. Marshal wanted the adventure, excitement, and danger and was curious…he couldn’t handle Rachel

  666. Jess Maltese

I think he was interested in a girlfriend. She peaked his interest and captured his eye. Though curiosity played a big key as well.

  667. I don’t think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, but I do think he was looking for a hookup. And him and Rachel probably would have worked out had she been a normal witch. lol Poor Rachel.

  668. Tom W.

I think he was curious and interested, but not sure if he was actively looking for a girlfriend.

  669. Celeste Corp

I don’t think he was looking.

  670. Heather M.

I haven’t read that one yet. I love the cover though. Getting to see more of Rachel… Your covers are always awesome!

  671. Melissa Logan

He was into her. He was trying to test the waters.

  672. curiosity maims. He was totally just looking. :-D

  673. Vanessa Woolley

    Yes, I think he was.

  674. Sandy Davis

I think he was just curious at first and wanting company but that the girlfriend thing came later.

  675. Jessica Turner

I think he was just curious about her and how she peaked his interest, but a girlfriend was probably going a bit to far.

  676. Curiosity was the “excuse” to get close enough to talk to her. I believe it was a little bit of both.

  677. Amber

I think Marshal new what he was doing when he came knocking on Rachel’s door. I think he had a plan to become Rachel’s girlfriend

  678. Tiffany Shroyer

I don’t think he was looking at first, but he quickly changed his mind after spending time with Rachel. I really liked Marshal until the shunning!

  679. I think he was both…curious and looking to form a relationship or some sort. I think he thought Rachel needed a savior :)

  680. Kari Scheppelman

I think he was a little a both whether he was aware of it or not.

  681. I think he was looking for a girlfriend. He came all the way hoping to find out she available and if she was as smart as she seemed not a lot of great witches like her out there. He was smitten and since everything lined up for him in the city maybe this would to.

  682. heather liscombe

    Gf curiosity bit the Were…

  683. Marshal was looking for a girlfriend.

  684. Ginger Harden

Oh yes Marshall was looking for a girlfriend! His curiosity of her just made her that much more appealing to him making her his choice for his rebound.

  685. Evelyn

I haven’t read the book… :’( But I like the cover. It looks as if Rachel’s inner light/strength is lighting her surroundings so she can see better. And considering all that she has gone through and surpassed I think the red tint surrounding is pretty adept(?- Sorry sometimes being multilingual screws with your vocabulary). But I really like the cover hopefully during the Christmas break I can catch up…. I’m currently in Fistful of Charm.

  686. He was definitely looking for something! And oh the the attic scenes! Too bad he couldn’t handle Rachel. He wasn’t good enough for her anyway.

  687. Curious, but no way this guy could keep up with Rachel. Plus, she didn’t need “saving.”

  688. Yeah I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend…too bad Rachel doesn’t have the type of life where having a boyfriend works out all that often…

  689. Rachelle

It’s been a while since I read “Outlaw,” but I think it was a little bit of both when he came knocking.

  690. Noelle Loberg

I think Marshal was curious however I think he liked Rachel and had made up his mind that he wanted to form a relationship with her and be there for her.

  691. Thomas Terry

I think the cover looks awesome, haven’t read the book yet but love the cover. I’ve been reading the series since I was deployed in 2007 and a buddy of mine gave me the first three in paperback. Since then I’ve purchased the entire series in E-book from amazon, and routinely run the battery down on my Kindle reading them. Keep up the good work!

  692. Ronda

Girlfriend! No one travels that for for mere curiosity. AND then knocks on her door!!

  693. Crystal York

I love this series … and I agree Marshal was looking for a girlfriend.

  694. Ann Davis

Looking. (Love your books! I am now passing them on to the kids.)

  695. I just finished book five so I skipped past everyone’s comments:) I love the cover because it portrays a powerful woman!

  696. Rachael A

I think he was definitely looking for her as a girlfriend once he met her. He shows up to see if he can make it happen. Then again, what man wouldn’t when it came to meeting a girl like Rachel.

  697. Yes, Definitely Looking :-)

  698. g33kxx

We all lie to ourselves, Marshall’s no different ;) Though I think he was lying to Rachel and really was there to test the waters as it were :)

  699. Jess

The cover is wonderful. I like the reds of it. All the covers are easy to read from a distance and are distinguishable from other authors. I can always pick out a Hallows book from a distance.

  700. Melenie

He was curious but definitely interested in Rachel as a girlfriend.

  701. Crystal Fairchild

I think he was looking for a girlfriend! He is also is the rescue type so I could see him thinking he could rescue her all the time.

  702. jeremy

I would like to think a little of both was going on, curiosity about whether Rache is girl friend material

  703. Catherine Dement Honan

He was looking for Rachel. =)

  704. Curious…probably not thinking “girlfriend”, but, definitely interested in getting to know her.

  705. Donna Begley

I think he was looking for a girlfriend :-)

  706. I think he was doing a little of both!

  707. Jamie

Whether he realized it or not, he was thinking of Rachael as definite girlfriend material! It happens to all of us…just when you think one thing, you’re slapped with another thought!

  708. marcella taylor

i think marshal thought he was just satsfying his curiosity

  709. Brenda R.

Yup. I think he was looking for a girlfriend!

  710. urrgghh

A girlfriend, duh! Rachel seems to have that effect on guys, they just can’t seem to forget her. :)

  711. Leann

He was looking for a girlfriend.

  712. Nonie

I think he went thinking it would be a possibility and then getting surprised that it worked out for him.

  713. Tiffanie Remillard

    Marshall was only curious.

  714. Jamie Landry

I think Marshall is the type that will always need a girlfriend in his life.I don’t think he knew what he was getting with Rachel. I think she was trying to be what he wanted in a girlfriend, but then her life (& real personality) showed up & Marshall couldn’t handle her real life…… I kinda felt bad for him.

  715. theresa f

I have not read it but the cover…. that girl looks like she could kick but and look sexy doing it :)

  716. Susie

I think he was looking for marriage material and Rachel just didn’t fit into his neat little world. I think he truly had feelings for her but they were not strong enough to withstand the storm.

    Thanks for the giveaway!
    Susie

  717. Sky

Of course he was looking for a girlfriend :)

  718. almendra

i love the cover .. it simple but in the same time .. magic.. jijij and the words combines well with the background

  719. I think it was mostly just curiosity

  720. Myndie Brazfield

I think Marshall was looking for some fun and had to satisfy his curiosity. Then after knowing Rachael more wanted a girlfriend. But he was selfish and only thinking about himself and not the big picture. So good riddance. I for one want Trent and Rachael together!!!

  721. Jen

Of course he was looking. ..for Rachel.

  722. Claire

Marshal did not want to have Rachel as a girlfriend. No one wants that, she’s too wild. Except Trent. Trent wants to marry Rachel.

  723. Jeff Whitten

I think that he was definitely open to the possibility….. on the other hand I don’t get why everyone appears to give up on a relationship with Rache….. She’s awesome :)

  724. I think he was, but Rachel was not really what he was looking for… she’s no soft homemaker type!!!

  725. Sam

    lol, he was girlfriend hunting!

  726. Luann

I think he was looking for a girlfriend!

  727. Kathleen Mitchell

Of course he was curious, who isn’t curious about Rachel? What guy wouldn’t want Rachel as a girlfriend? I think he wanted to check out availability and satisfy the curious bug at the same time.

  728. Wendy W

Oh yes! Curious about whether or not she was girlfriend material ;)

  729. Anna

I think that though he didnt realise it, he was there for a girlfriend there was something about Rachael that excited him and he wanted to get to know more

  730. Carolyn Busby

All guys are looking for a girl. Marshal is no exception!

  731. Mark Wilcox

Marshal wasn’t really looking for a girlfriend but once he got there I think he started to wonder about Rache as girlfriend material.

  732. SMH

    Yeah, he was looking.

  733. Kari

I thought we was looking for a girlfriend.

  734. Tracy

Curiosity factor high; looking for a girlfriend; low. Deep down inside he might have thought maybe she might be more; but the intent was strictly to find out more about Rachel.

  735. He was curious but I think he’s a kind of cautious dude who didn’t want to get into anything too heavy.

  736. Stacey

Marshal was definitely looking for a girlfriend.

  737. Of course he was – like a moth to a flame.

  738. Jade Pearson

I think that he was there out of curiosity, or at least had himself very well convinced that curiosity was all it was.

  739. Oh yeah, I think he was looking for a girlfriend when he showed up at her door.

  740. Laurel

Marshall was looking for a girlfriend

  741. Gina

I think a bitof both – if he hadn’t been curious,he wouldn’t have knocked, but he wanted Rachel as a girlfriend.

  742. I think it was a bit of both…curiosity, and if things worked out well, he would at least have a new friend he was attracted to with possibilities later.

  743. Robert Cossairt

I think there was a bit of both, he was curious and might have have open to the possibility, but was more curious

  744. I haven’t read the book yet. I’m a slow reader and still on “For a Few Demons More”. The cover looks like Rachel is in for some trouble.

  745. I think Marshal was looking for an answer but he wasn’t sure what the question was. It ended up being too much for him. Which is too bad, I really like Rachel and Marshall’s energy.

  746. Tammy L Davies

Hi there! I think Rachel is way too much for him to handle! I think he would have wanted a relationship with her but he can’t handle her ;)

  747. Margary Thrasher

I think he was looking for a gf.

  748. alanthiana

I think he was looking for more.

  749. Jordyn

I think Marshall was always attracted to Rachel but I don’t think he found her with the intent of dating her. I think he was just curious and then that led to wanting to date her pretty fast.

  750. Katie V

I haven’t had time to reread the book this time around and can’t remember the end so I’ll comment on the cover. I love this one! You can just tell she is getting more powerful and comfortable in her own skin, something to be reckoned with :)

  751. Joseph Garcia

I believe it was a little of both because she was on a mission when they first met, but leaning more towards a hopeful relationship.

  752. Jen

I think it was his version of the hair scrunchie excuse. Definitely looking for a hook up, if not a girlfriend.

  753. Emma parish

I don’t think Marshal knew what he wanted lol it’s why he is the way he is :)

  754. Vici Teace

I’m sure marshal was trying to feel out his options. He wasn’t exactly looking for anything, but maybe to check and see if she was available… You know. For maybe later.

  755. Intrigued, that’s how I felt Marshal

  756. Elise Parsons

I think he was curious and a little intrigued by her wildness and things just took a natural turn toward attraction

  757. Nina Kiggans

A little of both, but he didn’t realize he was getting in over his head.

  758. Marshall wanted a girlfrend. He wimped out but he started out with good intentions. I don’t think he was man enough to handle Rach anywya.

  759. Kristen

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend…no matter what he said.

  760. Diane P.

He was looking for Rachel, both to satisfy his curiosity and to see if she would fit his girlfriend mold.

  761. Yep, Marshal was looking for a girlfriend / someone to take care of!

  762. Jessica Mather

Yes, I think he was interested in a girlfriend. But obviously is a very curious guy……. Love your characters!!! Your the only author I splurge on & get all hard backs when they come out.

  763. I think he was interested, and was curious to learn more. So I guess my answer is both, he was looking a girlfriend and was curious.

  764. alanthiana

Looking to satisfy his curiosity, but I think that could have led to more.

  765. Becka Knutson

I think that marshal was trying to satisfy his curiosity, but that was only a small part of going to find Rachael. I think he was attracted to her and thought he had a shot. So he had a two for one. He could satisfy his curiosity while getting a date at the same time. On a side note. I feel he had good intentions going to find Rachael. But came to find out that her life was just too much for him.

  766. QueenZulu

He was definitely curious, but also looking for someone more permanent.

  767. Brandy Signor

I think he wanted a girlfriend. And Rachel was different so that’s why he knocked on her door.

  768. Georgene Danjanic

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend but Rachel was too much for him to handle. (his loss!)

  769. Scary Lee

Marshal was looking for a gf.

    • Magdalena Preciado

I do believe that Marshall was looking for a girlfriend and deep inside him, he was curious about Rachel way of life. He was cute…..

  770. Danielle Miller

I think maybe a little of both. Marshal is a nice guy, but not Rachel material. He was not looking, but open to the possibility maybe?

  771. Laura Borges

I think he was just curious and not actively looking for a girlfriend, but he wasn’t closed off to it either.

  772. kehtaci

This series keeps me coming back. Keep up the great work!

  773. Tanya

I think he was seeing if there was still a chance for them and then he chickened out because he’s not man enough to be able to be Rachel’s equal.

  774. Kelley Hunter

I think Marshall was curious and somewhere deep in his subconscious he was interested in dating Rachel…but she is irresistible just as the books are.

  775. I think he was drawn to Rachel – she’s hard to resist! But I don’t think he was knocking on the door with a promise ring in hand.

  776. Chris

I think marshal thought he wanted a relationship but wasnt ready for rachel

  777. Lisa

I think he was just curious, but hoping subconsciously for more.

  778. Marshal was definitely looking for a girlfriend. He is too nice a guy to do that just for the sake of curiosity.

  779. Gail S

Oh poor Marshal, he was curious & just couldn’t help himself to pursue Rachel. He was sucked into her orbit & couldn’t help being caught up in the (her) adrenaline rush. Although we know how that turned out. ;-)

  780. Laura Borges

I’m so excited for the new book to come out! I have a slight (large) addiction problem involving books, and I seriously need another fix of KH!

  781. I think Marshall was satisfying his curiosity, but Rachel is Rachel and can seduce dead men, let alone living men… LOL. He bailed on her when the going got tough. Besides, he knows that Rachel is a danger addict and he’s a little too safe for her. He’d have no chance with her in the long run. It’s better that they are just “friends”.

  782. Nikki Encinias

My personal belief is that Marshal definitely was curios about about Rachel. I think the fact that she was stronge and independent really caught his attention and pulled at his interest. I don’t believe he showed up strictly with the intent of getting a girlfriend but I don’t think he ruled it out either. To me it was one of those “I’m really curios and interested in you, I want to find out more and if that more that I find out is just as good as what I know already I definitely am gunna make a move.” Marshal had to have had the curios and interested combo, not necessarily to the I want you as a for sure girlfriend but I’m pretty positive by the way he seemed that was totally a thought that had crossed his mind he just wasn’t completely sure yet; he needed to find out just alil more before he jumped in. :)

  783. Liz Cruz

For sure it started as curiosity but he wanted Rachel as his girlfriend.

  784. Robi E

I think he wanted a girlfriend, but I think Rachel just had to much baggage and he wasn’t strong enough to hold up.

  785. Danniell Hampton

I think he was looking but he was also curious about her as well, I mean who wouldn’t be. Also, the cover is AWESOME!F

  786. Misty

Of course he was looking – and specifically for Rachel!

  787. Grace

I think it was a bit of both – he probably wasn’t looking for anything serious right away, but testing the water for sure (sad pun intended :0) )

  788. Andrea Atwood

Marshall wanted to check out the possibilities and see if it could lead to a relationship. There had to be a huge dose of curiosity about how this woman lived in her own environment, too.

  789. Randi Cutburth

I believe he was honestly curious at the beginning, but then wanted more serious things when he got to know Rachel.

  790. I think it was mostly curiosity, but with “girlfriend” in the back of his mind.

  791. Gina Barry

I think he was curious with a healthy dose of interested. Mackinaw didn’t have a large inderlander much less witch population. Then Rachel blows through town. Marshall lead a quite life and got a small taste of adventure, but as always with Rachel nothing is simple and easy. Although he has the knight in shinning armor complex he is not strong enough to survive Rachel. But Rachel did get to see what a life with a witch could be like and unfortunately found that life was not to be hers.

  792. I think it was curiosity, but doesn’t it always start out that way with a supernaturals?

  793. Kathy Dunlap k

Marshall was looking for a girlfriend. He was hoping it would be Rachel!

  794. He was hedging his bets and keeping plausible denialablity.

  795. Started the series and had no idea you’d written so many! Love the covers and how they tie it all together. Chic always looks bad a$$

  796. Ashley

I think Marshall was just curious:)

  797. Ginny

    So looking for a girlfriend.

  798. Sue

I think he justified his actions to himself by telling himself the was satisfying curiosity, but subconsciously he was fascinated enough that he wanted to date Rachel.

  799. jesica

    Looking for a gf

  800. Roger

I think Marshall was intrigued by Rachel and wanted to get to know her better. If that makes him looking for a girlfriend, then yes.

  801. February can’t get here soon enough!

  802. I think Marshall was genuinely fascinated by Rachel. She was so many things that pushed his “hero” buttons in addition to being attractive, fun and loyal to a fault. For him though he would always want the idyllic future that could never involve Rachel as long as she was true to herself. He still proved to be a trusted friend despite both their limits.

  803. kimberleyc

I think he was looking – but didn’t really understand he was

  804. R Stone

I think Marshall was specifically looking for Rachel. He thought there might be something between them and wanted to give it a try.

  805. I think he was curious, but his deep need to “rescue” is what really brought him to her door :)

  806. Reba holley

Marshal was looking for adventure and thought he was also interested in Rachel

  807. I think it was a bit of both, actually, but he chickened out.

  808. James

Seems like my opinion is unpopular, but I think Marshall was just satisfying curiosity.

  809. Stacy Winters

I am signing up for the give away? Don’t know if this is the correct spot. 😊

  810. Anja

Yes, I think he was looking… He was at least going to try… And the curiosity only added to that.

  811. melissa korpela

I think he was bot sure what he was looking for a lil of both I think

  812. spethel

He was definitely looking for a date, but I’m sure he had also convinced himself he wasn’t interested in having another girlfriend for a while.

  813. Erin Cardamone

I think Marshall was curious when he went to see Rachel and yet kind of hopeful for a girlfriend. He Luke’s Rachel, however can’t really handle her lifestyle.

  814. Marshall was hoping for a girlfriend. After all, he was sort of interested (despite the psycho current hookup) while still in Mackinaw, and now he’s free, new in town, yada yada. I’m not certain he was consciously admitting it to himself, but it was there underneath all the same. He might have been sort of relieved when Rachel pulled “I’m not ready” thing, but he definitely had the idea percolating at the back of his brain.

  815. Donna m peel

Loved reading all of the replies on here
Can’t wait to read all your books
I have to get my local library to get your books from other towns near by because it is a small town library they don’t always have them. I may not be able to afford your books but I do make sure I read them. Thank you for helping me escape my life woes. Please never stop writing

  816. Danielle Smith

I think Marshal was trying to convince himself that he wasn’t looking for a relationship, but he sought her out from a long distance, so…

That’s our girl, they just can’t stay away!

  817. Christopher Kaylor

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend that wasn’t psycho and someone that could maybe help him in case any Weres followed him.

  818. Marshal is just a tease from Ms. Harrison! We know who Rachel ‘s heart is drawn to.

  819. Jamie chace

I think he was probably looking for a relationship, but wanted to gauge her reaction to his showing up before putting himself out there. It’s a classic move! I’m sure we’ve all done it a time or two.

  820. Katie Eschenburg

I think Marshal was intregued by Rachel. I think he did think she was something to investigate more since she is such a whirl wind. I absolutely do think he was visiting Rachel with the hopes that they could become more then friends.

  821. Jenene

I think he was curious, then it turned into liking her.

  822. Dana

I think Marshall’s visit was 50/50. I dont think he was looking for a relationship per say BUT I don’t think that he would be opposed to the idea.

  823. D Mueller

I think he was curious to see if she really was someone he wanted to date. So…I think the potential was there, but not definite intent.

  824. Marshal was probably looking for a girlfriend, but got way more than he could handle.

  825. A little bit of both but, lets face it Rachel was way to much woman for him!

  826. April Pearce

I think it was both. He was drawn in through his curiosity.

  827. Cheryl

Outwardly, I don’t think Marshal went to Rachel’s looking for a girlfriend. His excuse of returning Jenk’s hat was more to satisfy his curiosity and possibly fulfill that subconscious desire he felt for Rachel.

  828. danielle ham

I think he may not have wanted to admit it but that he was a little more than just curious. .. I’m pretty sure he was looking for a relationship.

  829. Helen Tate

Bit of both, I think he was curious about the possibility of a relationship with Rachel, but felt intimidated by her too.

  830. Amanda Oldfield

One of my favs other than FOC…the turning point of Al.

  831. Shelley

I think it was a bit of both, really…

  832. Roy

    Looking for a girlfriend

  833. Lingeorge

I am with the looking for a girlfriend group. He was after the excitement — but couldn’t handle it.

  834. Kristen

I have only read your first book and I loved it. I have such a huge list of books to read so I hope to get to the rest of yours soon. I love your titles and all the covers. The covers is what attracts my attention first. Sometimes if I don’t like the covers, I won’t even read them unless its recommended.

  835. I think he was there because he was curious about Rachel.

  836. James Good

This is a tough one. He was obviously attracted to her, and thats a long way to go to satisfy a curiosity. But, then again, wasn’t he also offered a job at the university? Tricky tricky. But I’m going with curiosity with a hope for a girlfriend

  837. Amanda Mauller

I feel he was intially curious, I mean seriously, what guy wouldn’t be curious about a gal like Rachel?

  838. When he showed up all of sudden, I thought he was definitely interested in Rachel and wanted to check if he had any chance with her. I can’t even blame him: considering that it was kinda her fault that he lost is job and everything, it’s only natural that he’d still have her in mind.
Probably he accepted to remain just a friend to her (for some time at least) because Rachel made it clear that she wasn’t ready for anything more and he didn’t want to toss away a possible future relationship just for that.

  839. jeffrey cotten

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend

  840. I think it was a little of both. I mean heck who wouldn’t want to look up a spicy red head for a date specially one who tells you that she’s on a mission to save someone and to do so your going to give her your equipment and walk away….. Come on it edgy it hot men like assertive women!

  841. Elissa Khoo

I think he came looking for a girlfriend hoping to get Rachel back, thinking he could handle her life. Personally still a Ravy fan all the way. Ivy is always there and always will be.

  842. Lara Conlin

Marshall was definitely curious about Rachel & think he did come looking for a relationship. I think most people that meet her becomes infatuated with her male or female.

  843. Carissa Decker

He was looking and didn’t quite know it, he was overwhelmed by Rachel’s way of life though it seems…

  844. Danyel

I think he was trying to satisfy his curiosity about her and not looking for a girlfriend when he showed up.

  845. Sara Kline

I think Marshall was a little of both curious and looking for love showing up to see Rachel. He was curious about her powers and how she’d grown and if he could get her on his side/team then he definitely would.

  846. Cindy

Marshal was looking for companionship, friendship – but hoping for more.

  847. Sheri H

If not a girlfriend than surely a little something on the side.

  848. I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend!!

  849. Sue Lukenbaugh

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend, the fact that he could satisfy his curiosity too was just an added bonus, or so he thought.

  850. Melissa Fernandez

Yup, he thought there was something there between them, for sure. And, he was not strong enough to deal once the sh&t hit the fan.

  851. Definitely looking for a girlfriend! I think Rachel intrigued him.

  852. Marla Zumwalt

I think it was both. He was curious, and attracted. He wanted to see if she was really a good person, fell for her, and then got scared with the black magic.

  853. Sasha Kertamus

I don’t think Marshal was consciously looking for a girlfriend in Rachel, but I think he was more interested in her than he let himself think.

  854. Jackie Prowle

I think he was looking for adventure and was curious about Rachels life.

  855. miriamtv

Yep, definitely looking for a girlfriend

  856. Josephine

Of course he was looking for a girlfriend.

  857. Sergio

I think it was a little of both…..

  858. Reanna Stevenson

I don’t believe he intentionally went to their house to check and see if Rachel had changed and stopped getting herself into trouble. If she had then yes he wanted back with her but I think due to how much of a coven law abider he was, he couldn’t bring himself to say that he wanted her back. Or maybe he was sent by the coven to check and see if Rachel had actually turned into an ugly demon for the coven.

  859. Karri Higley

    Hi Kim,

Marshal was curious about Rachel, she is so strong and doesn’t rely on anyone.
I think he was attracted to that.

    Thanks Karri

  860. Kaala

I always thought Marshall tried way too hard to insist he wasnt looking for a girlfriend. He clearly had the hots for Rachel

  861. Beth

I believe that he was looking for a girl friend, but was intimidated by her independence.

  862. Charlene brasuell

I think he was, I think Rachel impresses him and he was looking to get to know her more.

  863. Peggy

He was mostly curious but had the hopes of something possibly happening.

  864. Patti Pisarek

I think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend but was taken by surprise by Rachel!

  865. have not read this book but I love the cover think it is awesome love it

  866. Caitlin V.

I think Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend when he appeared on her doorstop. And I honestly think she shouldn’t jumped on him (literally) cause I love Marshalls character!

  867. jayne luckett

He was just there out of curiosity i believe….to say hey look what i got then it got to much for him!!

  868. Danielle Clark

I think that Marshal was stagnating. When Rachel came along his heart started beating from the excitement and possibilities. I agree with previous posts that said when your single your always sort of looking, but I don’t think Marshal saw it in black in white. I think he was drawn to her spirit and just didn’t know what to do with that. He also seemed to want to help the damsel in distress. What person doesn’t ultimately want to be their lovers hero, even if in just a small way?

  869. Holly Williams

I think he was looking for a girlfriend, Rachel is a handful though!

  870. Melodie

Not sure if Marshall was looking for a girlfriend, or just some fun….. he got both then bolted…. Poor Rachel, Trent will just have to make it better for her…..

  871. Monica Schultz

I think he was looking for a girlfriend

  872. Jen

I don’t know, maybe a little of both.

  873. Vanessa

Yes he was looking. Kind of wish it would have worked out, too bad he wasn’t up for the challenge! He was Pixie approved and everything!!

  874. Michelle R

I think Marshal was very curious. He seems like a very self-assured guy who isn’t surprised as often as some people. Rachel really surprised him. Between her deathwishes (yes, multiple) and her code of ethics, I think he was really trying to figure her out. There might have been a small percentage of him that was attracted, but once he figured her out (in his mind, at least) he ran. He likes the idea of danger, but really having to face that danger is not his cup of tea.

  875. Katie Brockman

I think he was definitely looking for a girlfriend.

  876. Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend!. I agree with Shannon, Marshall was looking for a girlfriend that he could save. He and Rachel never would have worked.

  877. I’m pretty sure Marshal was looking for a girlfriend or just testing the waters for that potential girlfriend.

  878. Danielle

I think he was drawn to her and felt the need to get to know her. Not only know her but save her as well.

  879. Chris

    Curiosity took the wolf

  880. Lindsay

I’m behind on the re-read. But based on what I recall, yes, I do believe Marshall was really there looking for a girlfriend.

  881. Marshall was definitely looking for a girlfriend. He wanted to satisfy his curiosity too, but thought he could do both.

  882. Danielle

A bit of both, probably. Rachel is pretty intimidating!

  883. Ali

No, I dont think he was.

  884. Gwen

I think he talked himself into thinking he was satisfying his curiosity. In his subconscious though…he was looking for someone (girlfriend) to save!

  885. It seemed to me that in the beginning Marshal was more curious than hopeful. Then slightly more hopeful, then thoughtful. Perhaps thinking that this was a bigger bite than he wanted to chew.

  886. N Brent Cole

I think Marshal was wondering if they could pick up where they left off.

  887. Jennifer Coleman

I think he was mostly curious but since he was unattached was open to possibilities.

  888. Steven Hall

A guy, a cute girl, of course he was looking for a girlfriend! hehe

  889. Joan

    Yes, I think he was.

  890. LeAnn Taylor

    I love the cover!

  891. Bruce W. Reisman

Marshal was open to the possibility of a girlfriend.

  892. val E

I think he was looking to see if there was something more there. She is obviously not like anyone else so certainly a novelty for him.

  893. Robyn

Most definitely satisfying his curiosity. Rachel is an interesting character!

  894. Rochelle Harmon

Marshall, I feel, was VERY interested in Rachel. The best part was it was fueled by curiosity! He was ready to ask her out when they were on the boat!

  895. Show me a single man who isn’t looking for a chance. I think he was curious and hoping if not for Rachel than for someone she knows.

  896. Shere'e in Seattle

I think he was looking for a girlfriend. He seems to be that kind of guy, not one for a “friends with bennies” kind of guy.

  897. Colette Johnson

I think that Marshall was satisfying his curiousity. However if more came from it, I don’t think that he would be opposed to it!

  898. Cathrin Lesch

I’ve read the books a few years ago and I do not really know who Marshall is. But I would say he was looking for a girlfriend.

  899. He may have looked unconsciously for a girlfriend, but I don’t think that he had Rachel in mind. When he first knocked, he was just curious about her, and I believe that he believed that being regular friends was all he wanted from her.

  900. Robin Moore

    I think Just curious.

  901. Leslie D.

Definitely curious, with an open mind for more!

  902. Mychelle Lee

I think he thought when he went over he was only satisfying his curiosity, but he actually was looking for a girlfriend.

  903. Megan C.

Started off as wanting a friends with benefits situation to get that excitement fix and forget about his broken heart. He used Rachel at first than wanted more but could not commit so he ran away. So yes both!!

  904. Yes! He was not looking when they first met but, after seeing all the things going on with her he knew he wanted in on it. So hee went for it, got scared and took off.

  905. shekinahannora

Some of it probably was curiosity, but, yeah, I think he was looking for a girlfriend. He didn’t realize, with Rachel, he would be biting off way more than he could ever chew.

  906. Curiosity at first, looking to see if there was a chance of a relationship going anywhere.

  907. Tasha

I think he was just curious… possibly too curious for his own good. Of course, he may have just convinced himself it was just curiosity…

  908. I think it was a little bit of both. He was curious but unconsciously was wanting a girlfriend.

  909. Nancy Phillips

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend until he actually got there…then things all changed…

  910. Naida

Oh, he wanted her. But she was too much of a conflict of interest. He just had to resign himself to it, hence the visit.

  911. I think that he was just looking to explore the possibilities…..

  912. Deb Hillgartner

Haven’t read it yet but the cover is magnificent!

  913. Beth Kaake

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend but I think he was open to it. But aren’t they all!

  914. Jessica DiNatale

    Hi Kim,
I think Marshall was trying to see if there was anything there between them. And if anything to find a friend in the city.
    Jessica DiNatale

  915. Curiosity definitely, who wouldn´t want to know what happened?

  916. Alicia

    70:30 Curious:Girlfriend

  917. Kirsten Parsons

Little bit of both. But it’s hard for a wanna be white knight to be with someone who doesn’t need saving.

  918. stacy wright

haven’t gotten this far in the series :(.. though, the cover like the rest is wonderful! :)

  919. Krista

First off I got my tour T on Saturday, thanks Kim and Guy! (Hug)

I think he was intrigued by Rachel I’m not so sure he was looking for a girlfriend until he got a taste then it all changed.

  920. tuchbike

    He was curious. She’s unique.

  921. Sarah M.

I think it was a matter of curiosity at first. Rachel was his walk on the wild side. I think he may have even thought that he could change her, but Rachel is Rachel.

  922. Susan

He may have thought he wasn’t looking for a girlfriend, but that’s when it usually happens. She certainly had intrigued him and in the back of his head he had to be wondering.

  923. shirley mccollum

Marshall was interested in girlfriend. . And was sad when things went sour.

  924. Jennifer Fuller

    I think it was both.

  925. 490 comments! wow I’m so not gonna win :P
I read this book so long ago that I hardly remember the details, but what my “stored feelings” say that he was not particularly out for girlfriend but was open for anything and found Rachel interesting enough to give it a shot >.<

  926. Brandee Lancaster

Marshall seemed very adamant about needing a girlfriend before. She scared him away, but I knew he’d be back for more. Some men think they can tame a “wild woman” by making a peer-to-peer girlfriend out of them. He came too far to just be “satisfying his curiosity”.

  927. Tammy Martine

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend.

  928. I think he wanted to explore the possibilities

  929. charmaine

I haven’t read the books in a while will have to dust them off :D

  930. Oh my gosh YES!! He was on the rebiund. And when Rachel said she wasn’t looking… what more could he say?
He was on the rebiund… but I don’t think that he could get her out of his mind since she stepped foot on his boat. ;)

  931. Margaret McNeil

If you are single.. you are always looking. He was looking..

  932. Laura T

Marshal was curious about Rachel and what made her tick….he was also looking for a bit more adventure with her and if it ended up with them being boyfriend and girlfriend, all the better!

  933. Janice Bragg

I think he was curious, but also wasn’t opposed to a relationship.

  934. Erin

I think that he was interested in a change of scenery and he remembered where Rachel was. Rachel was someone whom he could rescue and she also flattered him as a witch because she complemented him on some of his amulets before so she was good for his ego. After a nasty break up he needed a boost. Then he was happy to say whatever she wanted to be close.

  935. Sara Murphy

I don’t think he was looking but liked the idea of her as a girlfriend. I honestly think he felt he looking for someone to save, which is so not Rachel.

  936. Leslie Morelock

I think he was more curious than anything.
He might have been looking for one but Rachel was too much for him.

  937. cherie mullen

I personally believe he was just curious

  938. Pippy

I think at first Marshall was looking only to satisfy his curiosity but when he realized Rachel was fun and exciting and needed rescuing once in awhile, he couldn’t help but want to date her

  939. Monica Briscoe

I think Marshall was not looking for a girlfriend, he just wanted to check out what was going on with Racheal.

  940. solinox

I think she looks desperate on the cover. Gosh, I can’t wait to get my hands on *all* the books and catch up!

  941. Alex

He was definitely looking for a girlfriend! Ain’t no hiding that.

  942. Patricia

i didn’t like Marshal at all,i do think he was looking for a gf,for a serious relationship with Rachel

  943. Oh my gosh YES!!! He was on the rebound from his last girlfriend, Rachel is pretty, he thought she was flirting get on the boat, so yah, he was hunting up someone that he thought might be the next in line

  944. Lillian

He was looking for a girlfriend.

  945. Marshall was too curious for his own good.

  946. Penny Francoeur

I think that Marshall was looking for a girlfriend. Rachel’s reputation preceded her.

  947. Spencer Williams

Ofcourse he was looking for a girlfriend. He wants the excitement but can get overwhelmed

  948. Nicole Molloy

First of all, Rachel has always been desirable to him, and he helped her despite his better judgement. He obviously felt drawn to her. I would say that he may have “told himself” his goal was only to appease curiosity, but deep down there was always the “what if ?”.

  949. I don;t think he was looking for a girlfriend but things turned out that way. Of course they didn’t last because he was never her HEA, he was never “the one”. But it was good for awhile.

  950. Kameron aldeen

He felt drawn to Rachel and had to see her. So I think both.

  951. I am quite positive he was looking for a girlfriend. He was probably taken with her attitude and looks and figured he would give it a go. Then he found out how much trouble she is lol.,

  952. Angela S

I definitely think he was looking for a girlfriend.

  953. Jacqueline Shay

Marshal was looking for a girlfriend when he knocked on Rachel’s door. It wasn’t until he realized how powerful she was that he decided to run. There is only one man that can respect her power & that is Trent.

  954. I didn’t think he was looking for a girlfriend right that moment, but he was definitely interested in Rachel.

  955. Tracy fontenot

I think it was a curiosity of possibilities … Maybe not actively looking but checking out the “what ifs”…

  956. Keith

Of course he was looking for a girlfriend or at least a date.

  957. lesley c

    I think Marshall was curious.

  958. Kelly Mc

I’d say looking for a girlfriend!

  959. Jennifer Hart

I think it was a bit of both. He started out curious and then decided that he wanted Rachel.

  960. Laura

I really think he was looking for a girlfriend. As you said the “white Knight complex”.

  961. I think he was looking for a girlfriend then.

  962. Megan

I’m pretty sure he was looking for a girlfriend! He’s not the super curious type, imo ^^

  963. Elizabeth roy

He was definitely looking for a girlfriend!

  964. I don’t think he was honest with himself or her! In my opinion, he was looking for something romantic.

  965. Amy Ramsey

I haven’t had the opportunity to read it yet, but I would love to see a hint of Jenks in some art!

  966. Macey

I think he was looking for a girlfriend

  967. Jecika Shirah

I think subconsciously he was looking for a girlfriend but didn’t know it. He was lonely and wanted the excitement she seemed to offer, but her lifestyle and willful personality were a bit much when it came down to it lasting (not to mention the crazy things that seem to happen to her).

  968. Brenda

    Totally looking for a girlfriend.

  969. I think he was looking for a girl~friend… :)

  970. Lisa

It’s Rachel Morgan, who isn’t looking to hook up with her.

  971. tia

    He was curious.

  972. I’m thinking curiosity …

  973. I think he was looking for a girlfriend, but didn’t realize it.

  974. KimberlyColton

I think he was looking for someone he could relate to for a long term relationship, any witch would have fit the bill but Rachel was more than he ever bargained for.

  975. Jana

I think he was being honest about his motives for coming over, but subconsciously he was open to whatever happened next.

  976. Gena Gates

Of course he was looking for a gf! aren’t all guys

  977. uta

    Nope, he was not.

  983. Jessica Kuzms

I think he was looking for a girlfriend but wasn’t interested in all of the baggage that she came with.

  984. Anima Wittum

I don’t think he was looking for a girlfriend – at least he didn’t think so himself – but of course his subconcious might have been way ahead of him =)

  985. Jessica Meyers

I’m not sure, but I do love the covers! Your books are always wonderful :)

  986. Delaney

The man wanted a girlfriend, but his curiosity was peaked enough by Rachel that he showed up at her door and stuck around for a bit. The man was never Rachels HEA but he was a decent friend until her life would have affected his then he cut and run like the stand in he was.

  987. I think Marshall had convinced himself that it was out of curiosity because he wasn’t willing to admit anything else.

  988. Marcia Siehr

Marshal got a taste of excitement and intrigue in MI and liked it. He probably wanted a friend’s with benefits arrangement seeing as they were both recovering from broken hearts.

  989. Amy C

have not read the book yet. Trying to catch up. The cover is fantastic!!

  990. Andy Santoro

I think he was satisfying his curiosity.
