To enter the contest for the prize pack, drop down to the comment box at the end of the page here and tell me if you think Trent was glad Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding. (If you’ve not read the book, then tell me what you think of the cover.) Your post is your entry into the random drawing, so please comment only once, even if you make a mistake–on your honor!

Rules and Regs. I will open the page for comments Monday, 9:00 a.m. EST, and close it Tuesday 9:00 a.m. EST. I will then use a random number generator to choose the seven winning commenters. They have until Friday, noon, EST to get back to me via my congratulations email or I give it to someone else.

FDMprizepack2Stuff to know before commenting:

Guy will ship overseas, so international is okay. (We’ve already sent to Canada and India during the read-alongs.)

Chances of winning are dependent on how many enter. We’ve been averaging over a thousand entries, and if you’re entering from your phone, do it early because most won’t scroll that far.

I will contact the winners Tuesday afternoon using the email address they used to comment with, so please check your in box. If you don’t respond to me by email by Friday, noon, EST, I’m giving the prize pack to the runner up, also chosen by the random number generator.

If you’ve ordered a Tour T. I’m happy to say that they came in a week early, and Guy is hustling this AM to get the first of them out the door. Thank you for your patience. Ordering them in two batches, (one before Christmas, one after) really helps keep the price down. We’re working local, and sometimes that means extra patience is involved. (But totally worth it.) Though it would have been a powerful alliance between the two families, Trent did not seem too aggrived that the marriage was stopped. I think he appreciated Rachel’s interferance.

  2. Sarah Burnard

I think Trent wasn’t happy about how Rachel stopped his wedding and over time he was happy she did.

  3. Mallorie Jack

    malloriejack21@gmail.com

I love your cover for this book, granted i love all you book’s covers.

  4. Megan Baxter

I think he was pissed. At first. Then realized it was a good thing.

  5. Lisa

    Absolutely relieved, but secretly

  6. Stephanie

I think he had accepted his “duty”, but there was probably a lot of relief when the wedding fell apart…like being led to the guillotine and being given a last minute pardon. I really think this was the beginning to his wanting more for himself than what everyone else needed him to be, because he realized that what he wants and what others want aren’t always perfectly aligned.

  7. He was totally happy deep down inside but definitely annoyed.

  8. Chrystal

I think Trent was irritated by how she did it, but very glad she did it. He didn’t want to marry her.

  9. Bethia

Trent always seems a few steps ahead of Rachel, so this was definitely part of his plan! :)

  10. Nicole

I think that Trent was happy Rachael stopped the wedding. The marriage was a business deal…not love

  11. Meredith

He was definitely happy Rachel stopped the wedding. I think he was glad he didn’t have to marry Ellsbeth!!

  12. Nicole Crawford

I think he was mostly mad in the moment. Rachel was ruining something… but he was a little relived too. Maybe not enough to admit it in the moment, but it was there.

  13. Hello, I’m not sure he was glad beacause he thought it was is responsability… but it is finally a very good thing for botrh him and Rachel, even if they did’n know it at the moment !

  14. I think that Trent definitely didn’t want to marry Elsabeth but he certainly wouldn’t want a public spectacle to damage his image. That being said, I’d wager that he knew that only a public spectacle would thwart Elsabeth and was perfectly willing to sacrifice his image as long as Rachel did the dirty work. :) LOVE the subtlety of this series!

  15. He wasn’t glad at first. Who wants to be arrested? But over time he became more and more relieved.

  16. Jessica Lyon

Yi think trent was happy, he didn’t really want to marry her but felt obligated

  17. I think that later on Trent was glad that Rachel broke up the wedding because he wasn’t really in love with Ellsabeth, but I think he would be annoyed also because this is more of a business deal since there is such a small population of the elf race and a marriage would have insured a future for their race.

  18. Trisha

I really think Trent wasn’t upset concerning the wedding fiasco. If nothing else, it gave him the opportunity to make a power play. Nothing sticks to Trent and he proved it with this. Getting out of that marriage was one hell of a bonus. He obviously was not getting himself out.

  19. Of course Trent was happy the wedding was stopped… getting arrested however not so much. :-)

  20. Jer

He was annoyed at the time but definitely relieved.

  21. I think he was glad it worked out that way in the end, Probably wasn’t excited in the moment though.

  22. Maureen Minnie

I think he was acting upset on the outside, but on the inside he was pumping his fists in the air and saying yes Rachel just saved me from a life of misery.

  23. gwynne morrison

I think Trent was mad but really glad.

  24. Danielle A

I definitely think that Trent was glad the wedding was stopped!

  25. He was glad but he didn’t want to admit it. At that point neither of them want to admit that they actually like each other.

  26. Heather Cassan

I think deep down Trent was glad the wedding was stopped! He wants Rachel….at this time he may realize that is why he didn’t want to get married, but he’ll know soon enough!

  27. I think he was relieved and happy about it. If not on the surface deep down.

  28. naturelover54

    No, not at first.

  29. Whitney

I think the only reason he asked her to be there was because he knew she’d mess it up some how and get him out of it.

  30. Jade Pearson

I think under it all he was pretty happy she stepped in, but that might be partially the fact that he seems to thrive on Rachel coming in and messing up all the well laid plans.

  31. I think he was glad Rachel arrested him. He didn’t really want to get married. But he couldn’t act like he was happy. Men lol

  32. I think Trent was glad the wedding was stopped, but I think he was mad that it was Rachel and not himself that found a way to get him out of it. He is too much of a control freak at this point to be glad that anyone besides himself controls his actions.

  33. Michelle Brooks

I think Trent was relieved, Ellasbeth was not very nice. He wad angry at first, but secretly relieved.

  34. laurie l

Yes, I don’t think he wanted to get married.

  35. Michelle M

I think during the wedding, he was mad at her, because he had excepted the fact that it was his duty to marry Ellasbeth. But, when he had time to think it over, while sitting in jail, he was relieved she had stopped it.

  36. Yes I think he realized in the end it was for the best!

  37. Patti W.

I think he was totally relieved!! He’s trapped into duty, but he knows who he really wants.

  38. Stacey Jones

control and appearances have been very important for Trent. I think that he has always been a little in love with Rachel, but she frustrates him and drives him nuts too. They can only be lovers or rivals, anything else is impossible for them I think. Yes he was angry, even though he knew that Ell would make him miserable in the long run. I don’t think he ever truly wanted to marry her in the first place though.

  39. Lyn Chesna

Yes, I think he was relieved!

  40. Yes I think Trent was happy Rachel stopped his wedding. he is a great character. One of my fav.

  41. Courtney Durham

I think he waa happy she stopped the wedding but not happy about what it would me later

  42. Lisa H

I think that he was angry that she dare burst in like that and ruin everything, but then he was secretly glad that she had saved him from being tied to Ellasbeth who he didn’t like anyway.

  43. Trent was both happy and disappointed. Happy because he didn’t want to marry. Disappointed because it was an ‘easy’ route to fixing political and social problems. Plus there was also a baby and I can’t help but believe he’d want a complete family, given his own upbringing, for his daughter.

  44. Just can’t can’t get enough of the Hollows, Such great books.

  45. I think Trent was intrigued with Rachel and her meddling with his life, the way a scientist might study a new species of bug that bit him.

  46. Dee Grayson

I believe he was more relieved than annoyed, but he was trying to do his duty or the right thing….

  47. laylaravenscroft

I think he was frustrated she ruined his plans but, inside of him, he knows he shouldn’t marry Ellasbeth. He knows that Rachel has something about her that makes her the best suited woman for him (even if, at that point, she’s pretty annoying to him).

  48. Jill

I think he was happy the wedding was stopped but not being arrested so publicly!

  49. Dyan

I think that Trent was more than happy that Rachel, he just wasn’t going to give Rachel the satisfaction of being right in “saving” him. He didn’t want to marry Ellasbeth and he doesn’t want to marry her now.

  50. jeff riffe

Yes, I think there is more than meets the eye going on here. And on a side note, my wife has all your hard cover and soft cover yes both and has them all signed by you but a couple. This would make her christmas. Thanks and keep on keeping on.

  51. Nicole Hallam

I think he was, underneath it all, glad that she stopped it. Not so sure about getting arrested though. Pretty sure no one would be happy about that!

  52. Chris

Trent has always been the sub to Rachel’s dom! But can you blame him?

  53. Suzanne Owens

Yes, Trent was glad… though I’m sure he’d rather not been arrested. Though he hasn’t said it you know he’s had a soft spot for Rachel since they were kids.I can’t wait to see where the new book takes them! xoxo

  54. I think Trent was secretly very happy because IMO he has had a crush on Rachel since the camp days.

  55. Breann Fagan

He didn’t want to marry her, but felt like he had to.

  56. Yes, Trent was definitely happy Rachel stopped the wedding!

  57. Jessica D

I think Trent was glad that Rachel stopped the wedding. Thanks for your amazing giveaway!!

  58. I’d say he was relieved, yet annoyed. That’s totally possible, right?

  59. I think on the inside, Trent was relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding. But since he’s in public and always has his role to play and persona to make sure is on display, he acted pissed-off. Since camp, Trent has always battled with what he truly wanted and what he is supposed to do. This is just another case of acting mad because he had to. But deep down, he was doing a big ‘ole Keebler Elf happy dance :D

Thanks for the awesome giveaways!!!!! Merry Christmas!!! See you in a few months (hopefully!!)

  60. I don’t think he was happy at the time. He likes to be in control, not anyone else. Turned out for the best in the end though.

  61. Rachel

I certainly wouldn’t want to marry Ellasbeth, so it seems to me that Trent was glad!

  62. nsh

Well, The elf is too proud to say it, but he has a fetish for Rachel when she mess up his orderly life. The thrill !

  63. Shannon Quenzer

He would never admit it, but I think Trent was relieved that the wedding was stopped.

  64. Dawna Immele

Trent was happy that Rachel stopped the wedding but then it was in his plans all along. He likes manipulating situations so that people end up doing what he wants and thinking it was their own idea.

  65. I think Trent was very irritated by the public display that ruined his plans for the future of Elf politics and his public image, but not exactly angry. He was secretly relieved that she saved him from his “duty” to what he saw as the future of the elf race. He is always relieved when Rachel grabs him away from a miserable future of duty, sacrifice, politics, he really just wants to be his own guy.

  66. Sarah M

I think he was glad that she stopped the wedding.

  67. Tonine Cowper

Yes he was secretly relieved. I believe that Trent in all of his political wrangling and plotting secretly wants to be like Rachel and have the freedom to make things up as he goes along. I also think he loves Rachel but that’s the one thing if he gave into that would destroy almost everything he has built and been encouraged to do since birth. I don’t think he can let himself do that but every now and again you see glimpses of it.

  68. Michelle

I think he was angry and embarrassed, but also relieved.

  69. Tessa Martin-Bashore

Glad? At the time? HA! Relieved maybe but glad? Humph. Secretly giddy? Perhaps. Hissed off that his plans didn’t go his way? Yes. Curious to follow Rachel’s hysterical life changing weirdly intuitive decisions to their conclusion? Yes. I think we have yet to find out that some species were more than just slaves, perhaps they were intuitive and if you listened, things turned out more right than they would have otherwise…perhaps she is his canary and he knows it.

  70. Chrisitna Decker

I think Trent was genuinely pissed at the time, but is glad it happened in retrospect.

  71. Kirsty

I think at the time he was furious but given some time for perspective to kick in, he was pretty darn happy about it.

  72. Joan

    Not at first.

  73. Jamie J.

I think Trent was happy about getting of the wedding but not about the reason he got out of the wedding, it might be something he can find amusement in at a latter date.

  74. Karla Crosby

I think Trent was happy Rachel got him arrested because he’s only marrying Elizabeth out of obligation to his race and deep down he would like to make his decisions based on his feelings!

  75. Jodi

I really think he was very relieved. Although he was really angry for the bad PR.

  76. Jeremy Perkins

No, he saw his race and linage dying.

  77. Abbie

I think Trent really was happy that Rachel arrestes him before the wedding. I think this because Trent is so torn between the duty to his people, the duty to his father, and the duty to himself and too often times he chooses his people and fathers duties over his own. And Rachel arresting him she took that choice from him and saved him inadvertently from the horrible marriage he would have had.

  78. Nici B.

I believe he was happy for himself. For his duty bound honor? Maybe not so much in that moment. But this way, even if he didn’t like the how at the moment, he was at least able to save face in the elvenworld…

  79. Rocky Reeves

Was Trent happy? I don’t think there is a simple yes or no answer to that. At the time I would say definitely not. Not because he wanted to marry the shrew, but because the marriage was a part of his complex grand plan to bring the elves back. Part of that grand plan was to make sure he would be the leader of the new society that would come from his finding a way to cure the elves infertility. The marriage was to cement his position in elf society for that purpose. So, no, he wasn’t happy that Rachel had thrown a wrench in his carefully made plans. He was very angry. But I believe that deep inside there was a part of him that was relieved. And later, that part would grow and he would be happy that Rachel had interfered.

  80. For sure. I think Trent, regardless of his attitude towards her at the time, was immensely relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding (even if it was by arresting him). The only reason he was going through with it was for the clans’ – not for himself or his own happiness. Certainly not for his businesses.

  81. I think Trent was glad the wedding was stopped. Do I think he was glad to be arrested by Rachel…HELL NO! He liked being BMOC and having everything his way. Rachel acting out gives him some excitement to look forward to, but I think at this point in time there was a line he drew that wasn’t to be crossed. Although Rachel crossed that line and caused a bit of defamation of character, that was a start to whole new respect he begins to have for her and I think helps him to start knocking down those walls he’s built up to her and whatever happened at camp…WHICH I HOPE TO GOD YOU CLEAR UP IN THESE LAST 2 BOOKS!

  82. Jamie Phelps

I think he wasn’t happy with HOW his wedding was stopped, but he was glad, in the end, that he didn’t have to marry her.

  83. Misty Gee

I have just started reading the first book. So far I love it. I love the cover of book five. I know that I deffinetly want to own all your books in this series.

  84. I think that he was definitely glad that she stopped him, however his vanity is upset at the way she stopped him.

  85. Charles Criss

I think has had a thing for Racheal since summer camp. So he was really happy to have wedding broke up

  86. Jami Stephens

Of course Trent was happy that Rachel stopped the wedding. Not sure if he was happy that he got arrested. Trent didnt care for his bride. It was totally political and to ensure the elves population. I honestly think Trent has had the hots for Rachel since they were at camp as kids.

  87. Sapphire

I think Trent was relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding, but he was willing to sacrifice anything for the betterment of “elf-kind” at that time.

  88. Definitely. I think he was very relieved.

  89. andrea bailey

of course he was thrilled, he knew he didn’t love her, he was meant for Rachel!

  90. Mary Kate

I think he was embarrassed but also happy. He really didn’t want to get married.

  91. Cristni Thornton

Yes, I think he was glad she stopped the wedding, but he was pissed at her for causing a scene. He has an image to uphold, you know….

  92. Gail S

I think Trent was relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding. I know I was happy she did. ;-)

  93. Matt Wheeler

I am not sure about the cover. I think having a facial expression to go with the image would have made a bigger impact.

  94. He was absolutely happy she stopped the wedding! :)

  95. Yes he was mad. Trent does not like his plans to go wrong

  96. Rafael Henriquez

A friend introduced me to your books and I very happy she did. One of my favorite series.

  97. carrie

    I think he was

  98. Heather B.

I think he had mixed feelings about it.

  99. Megan Denise Thomas

I totally think Trent was secretly/inwardly releived that Rachel stopped the wedding. He was too proud and duty-bound to admit it but I thought so!

  100. Tiffany Mix

I think tha Trent was secretly happy because he has slways been in love with Racheal. Any attention from her was good attention.

  101. I believe he was initial upset since he believed he was doing what was best but in the end very happy he didn’t go through with it….

  102. Amy

Oh-my-bob OF COURSE he was glad, I was glad too. :D

  103. Yes. He was relieved and aggravated at the same time.

  104. debbie spinks

Yes, I do not think he would have gone through with it.

  105. I love how the covers portray Rachel as a sexy and powerful woman even though there are times through out the series when she doesn’t always feel that way. The covers exude power, sexiness and control which is how many women want to be seen and I think that’s part of what makes Rachel such a good role model, she’s both what we want to be like and how we really are in real life.

    • Gen Jones

I think Trent was glad to not be marrying that woman, but did not like that way Rachel publicly humiliated him.

  106. Stacy

I don’t know if Trent was happy about it, I know I was!!

    • Alex

Of course he was happy about it. It was a way for him to get out of a political commitment that he really didn’t want to be in without getting his hands dirty in the process.

  107. Jason Curtis

totally he was glad the wedding was stopped!

  108. Cindi Gillespie

I believe he was happy Rachel stopped the wedding, since he would have gone through with it because of elfin duty. I believe he was sacrificing his personal feelings for elfin duties and Rachel stopped that.

I just saw that you will be in Columbia, SC in March. I am sooooooooo thrilled. Already marked my calendar to travel to BAM on the far side of Columbia that Saturday. Awesome!!!!!!

  109. Tracie Wood

Even though he definately did not want to be married to that horrible elf woman, I think he was angry with Rachel for stopping the wedding, and the way she did it. Trent was/is all about duty and honor and Rachel messed with his and his ability to carry it out then.

  110. kyla.roschke@colorado.edu

Ohhhh yes he was happy!! Rachel got him out of marrying a woman he has no desire to be with AND he did not have to be the one to stop it. Although he was angry, I’m sure he now looks back on it as a small price to pay for getting out of that wedding. Yeah Rachel!!!!!

  111. Miranda

Yes, I think he was glad she stopped the wedding!

  112. esperanza

Yes he was glad she found a way to stop it. I think eventually he would not have gone through with it but since it was Rachel who stopped it, all the better because it would take the blame off of him.

  113. Nicole Jacobson

Trent seemed more irritated with the interruption than upset about the wedding. The fact it was Rachel just boiled his blood (in both ways) more.

  114. Heather S

I think so, for sure!! Trent would have been miserable!!

  115. Alexa W.

I haven’t read all of your books, so I have to say I love your covers I can always tell which ones are yours.

  116. Skyler Moore

I think he’s a little miffed it was in front of everyone, but no complaints about the single status, right?

  117. Amy D.

I love the relationship between Trent and Rachel.

  118. Megan Moore

I think Trent was glad, but probably mad about having to be arrested. :/

  119. Robert Beecher

Absolutely Trent was happy the wedding was stopped.

  120. I do think Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding, even if she did have to arrest him to do it.

  121. Yes! Trent was only having a political marriage for the benefit of his Species survival of the pure-blood elves <3 it wasn't about love directly, Trent loved his race more then the lady he was marrying :) Rachelle did him a favor and saved him from a miserable life with a woman he didn't love. B)

  122. brandy morgan

I definitely think Trent was glad she stopped the wedding! He understood his obligation but I think he was glad to have an excuse not to follow through with it.

  123. I think Trent was happy but he acted like he wasn’t to keep up his front

  124. Maura Johnson

At this point in the series, I don’t think he was in love with Rachel yet. I think he was peeved that she stopped the wedding and kept the two elf powers apart. I think it’s later, that he is thankful that she stopped the wedding.

  125. Leanne Rae Brewer

I was very excited when Rachel stopped the wedding. Ive been a fan of Trent since book 3, and i believed he deserved much better than Ellasbeth.

  126. Yes, I think that he was happy that she stopped the wedding and saved him from his “duty.” Hopefully she continues to save him!! ;)

  127. Liz Miller

i love the cover i have not read the book i hope it one day have the chance to read ur work

  128. MellyM

After reading all these comments I’m still torn about my answer. I know he hated the WAY she stopped the wedding, what political person wants an arrest on their record? Glad to be out of loveless marriage with a cold-hearted, spoiled elf? He had to be jumping up and down! But happy about it? I’d like to know the author’s answer!

  129. I think he was relieved. I think he would’ve gone through with the wedding because it was he thought was right for the elves, but I don’t think he wanted to marry her personally.

  130. Troy Gilliland

Oh,most definantly he was happy, but he didn’t dare show it due to the risk of ruining “family” alliences.

  131. Yes because I think he was reluctant but no because that meant someone else had the control.

  132. Brittney Edwards

Although he may have been embarrassed or just irritated due to the timing, I think he was definitely pleased with the outcome.

  133. Karen Campos

Yes, he was very happy she stopped the wedding! :D

  134. Sabrina Whartenby

I feel that Trent was happy that Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding because I think he really cares for Rachel, but he was doing what he thought everyone expected him to do to continue the elf race.

  135. Samantha Gilmore

Yes and no. Yes because she’s a monster. And because it was for their species

  136. Rtpcg

Yes, I think he was secretly happy Rachel broke up the wedding!

  137. Michaela Marineau

I do believe Trent was relieved. I think he was strictly filling what he felt was his obligation to his race. There was no real love there. Though he comes across cold and calculating most of the time. I like like us all he wants passion and love in his life. He just doesn’t allow himself to see it as an option for himself

  138. Michelle Roehrich

I think Trent was happy she broke up the wedding. I think he knew he had feelings for Rachael but doesn’t want to admit it. I think he felt bound by tradition and the need for another generation of Elves. I’m glad she did it!

  139. Oh yes! Definitely happy

  140. Mandy Longoria

I remember his frustration, but I think he was glad he didnt have to be the one to call it off. Love the dynamic in this series!!

  141. Jessica Godfrey

I think Trent was glad Rachel interrupted the wedding. I think he secrectly knows she will do what’s right and he believes in her regardless of the way he treats her. I love their dynamic.

  142. Victoria Furman

I think its a good thing she did I. I really think they like each other and something soon will happen for the 2 of them to make it or break it kinda thing.

  143. Krista

Yep I sure do. He is all about doing what is expected of him just like this marriage. He would have been dead inside all for duty.

  144. Stephanie H.

Yep! I definitely think he was relieved to not have to marry “she who must not be named”!

  145. Daniel Pearce

I definitely think Trent, did not want the wedding to go through, he is going to be with Rachel.

  146. Eden Whited

    Secretly, yes. Definitely.

  147. Evelyn

I have never won anything. I don’t believe Trent was happy to be arrested. Who would be? I believe he was ambivalent about the marriage. After thought and the baby, I believe he was ecstatic about not being married to Ellasbeth.

  148. Jodi Rodriguez

I think at first he was angry but relieved at the same time. He was only doing it for his people not for him.

  149. Audra M

I think after the fact that Trent was happy that Rachel stopped the wedding. At the moment he was upset and was ready to follow through with the wedding but when looking back after the fact he was secretly glad.

  150. Amanda Hurley

I think he was very happy. Maybe not at the time, but in the long run it was a huge save for him.

  151. i think that initially Trent was furious because that’s just his arrogant outward persona…but deep down he was relieved and grateful that Rachel stopped the wedding because he didn’t want the duty of marrying Ellsabeth.

  152. Trent was glad that Rachel stopped the wedding. Could she have done it with a little more tact? Yes, but it is Rachel we are talking about here! :) Loved the ringtone change on her cellphone, that was classic! I laughed out loud when I read that.

  153. Amanda Quinn

I don’t think Trent was very thrilled about Rachel stopping the wedding when it happened, but I think he appreciated that it was for the best later on!

  154. Heather C.

I think he was very happy she stopped the wedding

  155. Amanda D.

I think he was in a sense. I don’t think he liked being trapped by obligation like that, and Rachel was the freedom he didn’t want to allow himself.

  156. florencia sueiro

i think trent was really glad that rachel saved him(?) or rather kapt hin from marrying that cold hearted butch of anelfi .

He is aways living p to the idea of

  157. chuck craig

Of course he was, I imagine he would have liked a different approach but anything to get him out of the marriage!

  158. Anna C,

Trent would never openly admit that he was happy to get out of marrying but he must have been very relieved. Yes marrying Ellasbeth would have helped his species but he would have been completely miserable and that seems like too high of a price to pay.

  159. I do think Trent was glad Rachel arrested him and saved him from marrying the ice princess, Ellasbeth.

  160. I think relieved is the better word here. He dodged a bit of a bullet thanks to Rachel.

  161. Trisha

I feel Trent was glad she stopped the wedding as he didn’t really want to marry her, he felt he had to marry to carry on the elven people / ways. I hope Trent and Rachel get together since Kisten isn’t alive.

  162. Kristina

I think he was both furious about how she embarrassed him with the public (politician remember) and relieved that he was saved from marrying that cold woman.

  163. Jessica R

O he was happy but he still knew that he would have to be married to her at some point, but the postponement was a welcome one. I think what hurt him most is the separation from his umm family member (don’t want to mess it up for people still reading).

  164. For sure Trent was happy and grateful that Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding. He may have preferred she do it before everyone had actually walked down the isle, but overall he was thankful he didn’t have to marry the snotty elf.

  165. Nadija

    Oh she was definitely glad

  166. Amanda Kuhfahl

I agree with others that Trent was happy that the wedding was off although he would have gone through with it for duties sake.

  167. Natasha

At the time, no. But, Rachel has since reminded Trent of the person he wants to be rather than the person others need him to be. I look forward to seeing if he finds the balance.

  168. I think he was relieved. He was only marrying out of feelings of obligation to his race.

  169. Vanessa Woolley

I definitely think Trent was happy she stopped the wedding.

  170. Robert Waldrop

Trent wanted Rachel to arrest him and stop the wedding so he could kidnap Lucy later. It was part of his plan. As I read the series, I realized Trent has been planning something involving Rachel since they first met in the summer camp and he’s got an end goal.

  171. I definitely felt that Trent was relieved that Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding. I was also happy that she stopped the wedding!

  172. Kim Keller

I don’t think he wanted to marry her. I think you should kill her off. Nobody likes her.

  173. Andrea DeGuire

Yes…Trent was happy Rachel stopped the wedding..maybe not quite at that moment but in the end he was glad not to marry Elisbeth.

  174. Senona

I think he was, just hard to admit right now.

  175. Tracy

I think he was glad to get out of the wedding; but would have preferred a more tactful exit strategy.

  176. I think Trent was happy the wedding was stopped – and that he figured Rachel would have stopped it just to be a pain. I doubt he was happy about the implementation though ^_^

  177. kerri mckeithan

I think he may have been a bit peeved about the arrest but relieved about the wedding bustup. Maybe a bit amused.

  178. paula bibbee

Oh I think he was very happy she stopped the wedding . That woman was way to stuffy. lol

  179. Heather McNamara

I believe that Trent was happy that Rachel broke up his wedding. He would have done his ‘duty’ as he saw fit, but was glad when the decision was taken out of his hands. Because of course once he was arrested at his own wedding Ellsabeth would have nothing to do with him.

  180. baythompson

Heck yes! No way he wanted to marry that stuck up elf.

  181. I think he was more annoyed than anything but later realized he hadn’t wanted to marry.

  182. Melissa Jones

I think he was definitely relieved!

  183. John Fletcher

I think that although initially irritated that Rachel broke up the wedding, Trent eventually realizes it was for the best

  184. Sandra Geertsen

I think Trent was happy he didn’t get married, because his finance was stuck up.

  185. Cat

I thought that he might have thought that she wrecked his wedding because she was going to admit that she liked him or something at first…but after reading it again (and again and again), I think he just knew Rachel had something up her sleeve… :)

  186. jenny brady

He was not happy about any of it at the time. Probably happy about the marriage not happwning later after he had time to think about it.

  187. KRT

I think he pretended to be angry but he wasn’t.

  188. Jenn L.

Absolutely! Sure, he was willing to go through with it as a a matter of obligation. But there was a part of him that longed for the adventure he saw in Rachel.

  189. Jasmin

I think Trent would have been pissed at the time but on reflection rather relieved.

  190. He wasn’t willing to admit that he was glad she stopped it, maybe not even to himself at first.

  191. Cori K

I feel he didn’t want the marriage to happen, but was obligated.

BUT YAY FOR IT NOT HAPPENING!

  192. I think he was glad (secretly)!

  193. Amanda B

I don’t think he was exactly happy considering the circumstances, but at the end of it all, there was a part of him that was definitely breathing a sigh of relief. Of course, he would never admit that…. maybe not even to himself. Hahaha

  194. Jessica Riggs

I think he was glad the wedding didn’t happen…..eagerly awaiting the next book!

  195. I Idefinitely think he was glad she interrupted but I think he didn’t know it. I believe his nobility caused him to give up hoping for any kind of life he would want. He was emotionally vacant and followed what he thought he was supposed to do. I think he was relieved if he dared to let his own feelings out.

  196. I love the cover! Makes me want to pick up the book and read it :)

  197. I think Trent was happy Rachael broke up the wedding but he has to keep up appearances for his reputation and standing in the elvish community.

  198. Trent had to be relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding.

  199. Im in the thought process of 50/50. I think Trent did not want to marry Elizabeth, however, i think he didnt like being arrested by Rachel. :)

    • Tonya Harrison

I think he wanted someone anyone to save him from himself … so yes very glad. Now I am not sure where the daughter fits in. If she came before the marriage I would have to say no. A parent would do anything for their child .

  200. I believe Trent was relieved, in spite of his reaction, because he’s loved Rachel for years. I believe she’s in love with him too, but they’re just both too stubborn to admit it and accept the inevitable.

  201. Misty Duck

Yes I think that he did. I think in the back of his mind and in his heart he knew then that he loved her.
    :)

  202. Kim

I think Trent had mixed feeling about it. Overall I think he was happy because he loves Rachel being unpredictable and he really wanted to get out of that wedding if he could. But he does hate that Rachel seems to always put him in uncomfortable and sometimes embarrassing situations. Love the books so much been reading for years and will continue reading as long as you write!

  203. K. Miller

I think he was. I doubt he was happy about HOW it was done but I really don’t thing he wanted to marry that woman.

  204. Jennifer Medley

I think he was very glad she stopped it !

  205. Ruth Rossman

I think he had mixed feelings. Professionally he couldn’t afford to be happy. It caused way too may problems politically, as well as in the “save the species” context. Personally, I believe he was happy, although I doubt he was able to admit this for quiet a while, even to himself.

  206. Regina Newlin

I think he was glad… Rachel saved him from a fate worse than death. That woman could suck the sour right off a lemon!

  207. Trent was definitely glad Rachel arrested him and putting a stop to the wedding!

  208. Stacy Powell

Yes, I think Trent was happy that Rachel interrupted. I just don’t think he enjoyed being arrested.

  209. Emily T

    Absolutely!

  210. Marie Saylor

Yes, I think he was truly glad to see Rachel stop the wedding.

  211. I honestly believe being arrested during the wedding was doing Trent a favour, and he knew it. Yes, he was glad.

  212. Renee S

Yes, definitely! I love the wedding scene — it’s one of favorites from the series :)

  213. I think it was 50/50. He didn’t want to marry Ellsbeth, but didn’t want to have to steal his daughter either. I almost think he knew it was coming.

  214. yes i think he was secretly jumping for joy

  215. In that moment I don’t believe Trent was too happy with Rachel, but after I’m sure he was breathing a big sigh of relieve.

  216. Heather Delgado

He might have been happy when he thought about it later, but when being arrested? I doubt it. He does have an image to maintain, after all.

  217. Wendy Bailey

I don’t think he was at that time.

  218. Robyn McIntosh

I think that the duty-bound part of him wasn’t glad, but the part of him that wants to have his own life was probably at least relieved.

  219. Dawna Preston

No not at time but he changed his mind

  220. I think he was equal parts happy and annoyed, which is how he seems to react to Rachel in general during this time period!

  221. He was not glad to be arrested but he got out of it easy enough. I do think he was very happy to have the wedding stopped. He also knew Rachel was the only one with enough nerve to do so. So in a nutshell yes he was glad to have HER arrest him and rescue him from the nightmare of a marriage he was facing.

  222. Yes, Trent was glad, he’s not the marrying kind and Ellasbeth is too cold….. Love your books, Kim ….please write more fast!

  223. Trent was inside very happy! He needed to hold up appearances though but very happy!

  224. Kay

I think Trent really did not care if Rachel stopped the wedding or not. Seeings how the wedding was one of status and not love.

  225. I think he hated being arrested, but I think he was grateful the wedding was stopped because of it!

  226. Meih M

I don’t think glad is the correct word, but he certainly wasn’t upset when Rachel stopped the wedding.

  227. It was probably for the best she broke up his wedding.

  228. Becca

Do I think Trent was glad Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding? Yes! Well, maybe not in the heat of the moment, I think the embarrassment and anger was too much at the alter. But now that it’s done and in the past, I think he’s glad. Hell, it’s that kind of don’t care who/what/where you’re-goin-down attitude that he likes about Rachel. :)

  229. Kristine Shore

I think in the long run, Trent was happy about Rachel interrupting the wedding. I don’t think he was happy about being arrested.

  230. Not at the time, but later I think he was grateful.

  231. Kim

I think he was upset she interrupted it. I think he saw it as a duty rather than something he wanted and he had to readjust his roadmap of life.

  232. Stefanee

I think he ultimately ended up being glad, but I think initially he was a little irritated because of the political fallout. I am glad she did though!!

  233. Wendy W

I’m sure he was. Who would want to marry that woman!?! Duty is one thing, but I’m sure that was a relief.

  234. I am not certain that Trent was relieved to evade marriage. However, I think he was upon hindsight. ;)

  235. Ellen H W

Initially no, but later Trent was more than relieved….

  236. Ken

I don’t think that at this point Trent really knew what he wanted of Rachel. But, I think he may have had an inkling that he was better off this way.

  237. Oh, I think Trent was very happy that the wedding didn’t happen. The arrest was a PR nightmare, but I would bet that he was thrilled in the long run.

  238. I think Trent was pissed but pleased. Pissed that his plan was messed with and being arrested is never fun and he likes to be one in control of , but I think displeased with Rachel`s interference . His Heart wasn’t in .

  239. Marcie

I think Trent was happy she got him out of his wedding, although I think he hated being at the police station. He didn’t want anyone to know he was an elf and it might have gotten noticed there or so he believed.

Holy Toledo! it was hard to get in here, but I made it, yeah!

  240. Christi

I am ashamed to say I have not been keeping up with this series although I love it dearly. The cover art intrigues me though. I like the art but I dont really understand the cat on the cover. Guess I better go crack a book. Lol.

  241. Definitely!!!!!!!
He had to know that wouldn’t work out!!

  242. Julie Greatorex

Yes, I think Trent was glad the wedding was stopped !!

  243. Linda Scot

I don’t think he liked being arrested but was extremely happy to get out of getting married. Of course, he would never say so out loud!!

  244. Crystal P.

Absolutely Trent was happy Rachel stopped his wedding! He thinks he’s doing the “right” thing by doing what everyone expects of him and stepping up to be the next leader of his race, but deep down he wants to be with someone who is a challenge and not a “yes person.” I can’t stand Ellasbeth!!!!

  245. Trudy

I don’t think he was happy in the beginning. The marriage was political, and when it didn’t happen problems occurred. In a later book he was relieved.

  246. I think he was so very relieved, so was I!

  247. JFHY

I think the very last thing he wanted was getting married, it was all about keeping up appearances. Let’s face it Morgan saved his tush again.

  248. Carole Ann McKinney

I think he was happy to be arrested because it was a way for him to get out of the wedding without having to have a really awkward conversation with Ellasbeth. haha

  249. Amy Griffin

Yes, I think Trent was glad his wedding was stopped, although he didn’t appreciate Rachel’s messy ways yet. He wasn’t ready to enter a marriage with Ellasbeth.

  250. Karen Botbyl

He showed the proper public annoyance and outrage, but he’s secretly relieved.:)

  251. Trent was SO glad that Rachel arrested him, and stopped the wedding. That allows him to continue to chase Rachel.

  252. If Rachel could have made the wedding not happen in a a less embarrassing manner I think he would have appreciated it more. He had to be glad someone made a difficult decision for him.

  253. Carolyn Busby

Trent was totally happy Rachel busted his marriage. Being married to an ice cube would suck.

  254. Gina N.

I feel like Trent wasn’t happy about it, it ruined things like his plans and his duty to his race, but internally he was jumping with joy deep down, in that place the rest of the world isn’t allowed to see coming from Trent Kalamack.

  255. I think he was so glad she did stop the Wedding! He did not want to send his life with HER!!!

  256. moonbeam080680

I was very happy she did it, but I do not think Trent was. I think later on he realized it was probably best for him that she stopped the wedding though. He would have been miserable!

  257. Kristan Schmitt

I think Trent was relieved that the wedding was stopped but I’m not sure an arrest was how he would have chosen to stop it!

  258. Yes, Trent was relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding, but he’ll never admit that to Rachel…

  259. Brian Walker

I’m in desperate need of any of your books. Help me please! Now, I think Trent was glad, but also him being a proud man felt a tad embarrassed ( but wouldn’t show it).

  260. I don’t think he was happy at all at that moment – too much depended on the wedding to happen, and it was a public embarrassment for him. Only over time he came to accept that it might have been for the better.

  261. I think he was angry that she made such a scene but relieved that he didn’t have to get married, (I think he really likes Rachel but doesn’t want to admit it so he keeps making an ass of himself in front of her :)

  262. Yes, he was very glad to see her, and to not have to go through with that wedding.

  263. Dianna Ulmo

I think Trent was happy…but humiliated.

  264. Melissa Peters

Even though he seemed annoyed at first, I believe Trent was relieved Rachel stopped the wedding.

  265. Lanie Adams

After it was all said and done I believe Trent was happy Rachael stopped the wedding. He didn’t seem to love his bride.

  266. Jeanne Dunn

Even if Trent doesn’t realize it yet, he’s glad that Rachel stopped the wedding.

  267. Trent would have been absolutely miserable in that marriage, and there is only so much misery one person (elf) can take! He is thankful that the wedding didn’t happen!

  268. janine16

In a way, I think Trent was thrilled that he hadn’t married Ellasbeth( because as we all know how nasty she can be). But on the other hand, I think he was upset because it’s what would have furthered the elves politically. He was relieved for his own sake, yet put out for the elves.

  269. I think in one aspect he was upset over the fact that he would lose the political gain he was going to receive through the marriage, but I think he was mostly relieved over not having to marry someone he obviously did not love. I also cannot be the only one that recognizes how much real attraction and sexual tension there is between Rachel and Trent. They just balance each other so nicely.

  270. Trent didn’t seem to be as upset as Ellasbeth; but I think he would have rather it not have been so public.

  271. I believe he was happy she stopped the wedding, but probably not so excited about the getting arrested part.

  272. Steph

Absolute Total Relief. Not exactly how he would have done it or wanted it done maybe…but utterly relieved!

  273. I think that on a business level and for the continuation of his race, Trent was very unhappy that the wedding was broken up. Probably very worried and annoyed too. However, on a personal level, I bet he was happy as a little clam that Rachel saved him from the fate of hell in the midst of heaven.

  274. Jennifer Roy

Absolutely I think Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding. Letting Rachel know that he was relieved though? That is going to take at least a few more books.

  275. Jennifer Mackey

    Hello Kim,
I do believe that Trent deep down was pleased, but publicly he was not happy at with her. They have a strange story line going on together and I can’t wait to read. This year has been tough but I am able to escape a bit in your books.
    Thank you and Merry Christmas

  276. Minnie

I think he enjoyed telling everyone in the church that he did not own Rachel. I don’t know if he was happy about Rachel busting up his wedding and arresting him. He was thankful that it gave Ellasbeth a reason to call the wedding off and leave.

  277. I think he was relieved that she stopped the wedding but perturbed that it took her so long

  278. Holly

I think he was relieved that he didn’t have to be attached to that woman forever.

  279. Susan Pulsipher

Not at first. He was not happy to have his wedding interrupted. He was all ready to take that final step and marry someone he was not keen on. in addition he had already had to endure a lot of major wedding whoopla; when his preference was a low key outdoor affair.

  280. kristie

I think he had mixed feelings… on one hand, it was for duty. On the other he was relieved. He saw Rachel as a friend even when she’s trying to take him down. Lol.

  281. Dawn Faircloth

I think he was angry because of the public attention, but yes, he was glad that he had an excuse not to marry.

  282. Jennifer McGaha

I think Trent was relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding. While his political aspirations called for this engagement I think even at this point he kinda of knew that he was feeling something for Rachel.

I just have to say I love all of these books! I can hardly wait for the new release!!

  283. My entry: I haven’t read this far into the series yet, but I Love the cover & can’t wait to read it! I love the black with red type, striking! I just wish there were more books with your idea of what Rachel’s face looks like, not just her tushy, arms & legs, lol ;-) Thanks for writing great books! I hope I win <3

  284. Maryanne B

I believe that Trent was very relieved that Rachel stopped his wedding because I think deep down he’s always been in love with Rachel.

  285. Sheresa Galbreath

I think he was glad she stopped the wedding… I know I was! He didn’t want to marry her, as we see in later books.

  286. I think he was relieved, and very deep down he was involving Rachel on the hope she was going to screw up the whole thing

  287. Victoria Davenport

I think he was pissed, but secretly relieved. He would have went through with the wedding to fulfill his duty but she saved him from being with someone he knew he would really not be happy with.

  288. I think secretly he was but had to show publicly that he was upset so that he could keep the peace between the elves.

  289. Joseph Conrad

He was glad she stopped the wedding, but would never admit it, not to himself, and most especially to Rach.

  290. I thought that he had mixed feelings. He was sooo happy to have the wedding stopped, but he may have feared the consequences that may occur down the line (after all, HE knew that he had slept with Ellsabeth). Plus I think it irked him that Rachel actually one-upped him, which was a blow to his pride.

  291. Tiffany Lawrenz

Of course he was happy she stopped the wedding, he wasn’t ready for commitment especially to that snob, he was only doing what he felt was expected of him from society, he cares of the public’s opinion of him, and Rachel stopping the wedding was his way out, yes he was arrested but he got off the hook so it did not hurt his look as bad as calling off a wedding would have.

  292. Trisha Boyer

I think at first he might have been a little upset, but the more he thought about it he realized that Rachel saved him from a horrible and unhappy marriage. That is until a few books later when he needs Rachel to drive him to CA. In order steal something back from his ex with jerks help…

  293. Janie Marlow

I think he was pissed having thought she couldn’t/wouldn’t do it, but deep down inside glad that she did. : D

  294. Makayla

Trent was glad she stopped the wedding, not so sure about the arresting part though.

  295. Sarah M.

I think Trent was glad that the wedding was stopped. I also think that sometimes he acts in a way that he thinks will protect Rachel. Not sure what book it’s in that we find out about his camp mementos. Rachel means something to him and I’m not sure he even realized what that was until these most recent books. I was NOT a fan of his at first, but I’m starting to appreciate him.

  296. Miranda Beazley

I think Trent was definitely pleased Rachel broke up the wedding. He seemed to be only marrying her because he was required to not because he loved her and Rachel gave him an excuse not to have to go through with it.

  297. Melissa

I think Trent was extremely relieved and may have even orchestrated Rachel being able to stop it. After all, duty is foremost in his motivations, so he needed some way to honorably get out of the marriage.

  298. Jenni BW

Trent was peed off about the public nature of his arrest, and the fact that his (at the time) best chance to save his species through political marriage to Ellasbeth had been ruined by Rachel. But I reckon he was also immediately grateful to her for it as it saved him from a seriously unhappy union with a woman he couldn’t stand being near. I think he also realised that Rachel actually did like him as she seemed happy to not only cause him the public embarrassment but also on the other hand to “rescue” him from the wedding and from marrying the cold creature that was Ellasbeth.

  299. Melissa Henkel

Trent is thanking his lucky stars that Rachel stopped the wedding:)

  300. I don’t believe Trent enjoys being thwarted from a course of action but did he want to marry her, no. Secretly, he wants Rachel and of course, she wants him.

  301. Victoria

I think he was happy that he didn’t have to marry but maybe angry at how it had to happen. I think he just wanted his race to survive and was doing it for that.

  302. Sandie Mumford

I have never read your books yet, but my daughter keeps telling me about them. So after I’m thru crocheting for Christmas I will head to the the library.

  303. I think he was relieved, even though he would not admit it! There is no way that he wanted to marry that B :P

  304. This is the best Witch series I have ever read.

  305. Carl Fox

As usual with Trent, he had mixed thoughts. He was glad to be “out” of the marriage obligation. But upset at the arrest, that caused it.

  306. Katie Schumm

Was Trent relieved? Yes. But not glad. Trent was spared in the moment, but the expense was his humiliation and compromise to his plans. It was only the readers who were truly glad.

  307. Yolanda Escareno

I think Trent was relieved and probably would have thanked Rachel if she hadn’t stopped the wedding with an arrest. Embarrassment is hard to ignore even when you get a quick way out of an unwanted marriage.

  308. I believe so; I think he was just getting married out of a sense of duty.

  309. Keegan K.

I think Trent was glad that Rachael arrested him and stopped the wedding. I think Trent knew that Ellasbeth was not such a nice person and really did not want to marry her.

  310. manekochan

Equal parts glad she got him out of it and annoyed that she did it in such a way as to cause him embarrassment.

  311. Mariette

I think Trent was very happy that Rachel stopped the wedding, but probably wished she could have done it in a better way. All though getting arrested is a pretty fool proof way of getting out of a wedding…

  312. Sherry D

Trent had to feel relief with the outcome, maybe not so much at the moment though.

  313. Susan

I agree with Claireese, I believe it was; he would have liked it stopped in a more respectful way, but he’s glad because one-Elsbeth isn’t really his type (a bit of aprimadonna is an understatement), two there’s really not much love there between them and he has a part of his heart, I think, that belongs to Rachel.

  314. Traci Lecheler

I think he was relieved to not have to go thru with the wedding but unhappy about the complications it caused.

  315. hanna b.

I have not read any of your books but my sister is in love with these. And the cover for the new book looks awesome. All the covers do, infact. My sister has also told me about the story line and it sounds very interesting. Makes me want to read them.

  316. Ewan J

Trent was Happy the Wedding was stopped he has more fun competing against Rachel and the tension between them would be different if he was married

  317. Kimberly

I do think Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding. I think he has always had the hots for Rachel even though he knows she isn’t like him. On the other hand he was mad because she isn’t like him and can’t do what he needs to do for his race.

  318. Trent seemed unhappy, but I think that was more because of how public it was. I was totally cheering Rachel on for stopping the wedding!

  319. I love all of your covers! They seem to say a lot about the book without giving anything away. I often look at the cover a bit differently after having read the book!

  320. Jessica c

I think Trent was relieved. He was already realizing that despite being a pain in his side Rachel was a good match for him.

  321. Julie

    No, but hes accepting it.

  322. Connie Davis

Yes, relieved but I think Trent is deeply divides about not having fulfilled an obligation even if it was the outcome he ultimately preferred.

  323. Charissa E

I think he would have preferred the wedding be stopped in a slightly less insulting and public way, so was likely unhappy for this reason. However I doubt he was disappointed that it was stopped in general.

  324. I think there was a line that Rachel crossed that day and that Trent was glad she crossed it. There are few things worse than having to spend the rest of your life with someone that you wouldn’t marry under normal circumstances. Besides it showed him that she cared in her own crazy( at the time) way she cared about him.

  325. Tonya H Evans

Trent is very happy that he is not married, now. Rachel once again saved the day!

  326. Kim Wilson

I think he was relieved that he didn’t have to go through with it.

  327. Tracey

Yes, I think Trent was relieved that Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding. I do think Trent is in love with Rachel!

  328. I think Trent was pleased NOT to have had to get married. He is all about duty and saving the species, but sometimes, getting arrested does have it’s advantages.

  329. I definitely think he was happy about it, but would he EVER admit it – even to himself – NO WAY! He does so much out of a sense of duty and not because it’s what HE wants to do, and that’s exactly what that marriage was – a sense of duty. He wouldn’t have been happy, and no matter what sort of hard ass he thinks he is, everybody wants to be happy.

  330. Brenda R.

he was ticked at the time, but I think he was happy about it later on.

  331. Paula

I don’t know if this was exactly the way that Trent wanted to get out of the marriage, but I think he was glad in the end. – a way out without either bride or groom taking the blame.. much.

  332. MariaDelCarmenDoloresA

Trent wasn’t thrill to be marrying Ellasbeth, more so after knowing about Ceri’s existence but he didn’t like to get arrested either, although the whole situation was very funny…

  333. Elizabeth Engebrecht

I think that Trent was glad Rachel effectively stopped the wedding. I don’t think he was ready for that type of marriage/responsibility. I think he’s secretly hoping for true love.

  334. I think Trent was happy to not be marrying a woman he didn’t love or respect. But politically it’s a huge problem.

  335. I agree with most of the responses. Not at first, but later.

  336. Paula

Yes, he was embarrassed at how she did it, but in the long run very happy

  337. Karen Falls

I think Trent was annoyed and embarrassed

  338. Aaaagh…in the middle of reading this book!!!!!

  339. Jenah

I think he was personally relieved, but politically annoyed at the time.

  340. Trent didn’t want to be forced into a political marriage and may have been secretly hoping for divine intervention, such as Ellasbeth suddenly dropping dead, but he got it in the form of Rachel arresting him instead. He might have been angry at her timing, but it all worked out in the end.

  341. Jessica Meyers

I don’t remember this part, maybe I need to re-read the books or I might have missed one. I absolutely love all the covers of your books, they are stunning. I really like the Into The Woods one. On my way now to see which book I missed so I can maybe get caught up soon :)

  342. terasa ferrier

I am excited to read this book it looks very inteeesting and if its as good as your others then i will. enjoy it to the fullest . you always take me to a place that feels like home but better. thank you so much.

  343. Kristi

I think Trent was absolutely thrilled to have the wedding stopped in a manner that allowed them both to save face.

  344. It was both the right thing to do and was a good way to save Trent from himself and the awful Ellsabeth

  345. I think Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding but also mad.

  346. Amber Robinson

Oh, definitely. I think it was a rather invigorating mix of shock, amusement, and anger for him – but I’d be lying if I didn’t say there was a little bit of relief, too. I know /I/ was relieved. Perhaps I’m just projecting.

  347. William Brown

Relieved…he was definitely relieved. The bride was way too high a maintenance cost.

  348. Jennifer

Although he was certainly not happy about Rachel arresting him, I think he was relieved about escaping the political marriage. Only hope it stays that way!

  349. Alicia Romano

I think Trent was extremely happy that Rachel arrested him at the wedding. He didn’t seem as upset as he should have been.

  350. Above all Trent would have fulfilled his duty to continue the elf bloodlines. But, in his heart, he never truly wanted to be married. I think he never intends to get married, but he does want to love and be loved in return.

  351. I think he was annoyed at how Rachel handled it but I think he’s exhausted from do whats expected of him and was ultimately relieved that he didnt have to get married.

  352. Abby K

Yes, I think he would have rather she did it before the ceremony…but he was definitely happy!

  353. Steve Ferrell

I think he was somewhat relived to not marry her but, I do not think he wanted to marry anyone at the time, I just think he wanted someone to spend time with as an equal, of course Elsabeth I don’t think is anyone’s first choice she is to self centered, so the answer is I think he was glad the wedding was stopped but I think he would be glad it was stopped if he had been marrying anyone.

By the way i am re-reading this book now. :)

  354. r holley

I don;t think Trent was happy at the time, but he definitely was in retrosprct

  355. Trent was neither glad or disappointed. He was exercising a plan, and all of his plans have backup plans. I’m fairly certain that the backups have backups.

  356. Chloe Mansell

I think trent was relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding. The wedding scene is one of my favourites out of all the books. Makes me laugh every time :)

  357. Dana

I dont think Trent appreciated being arrested.. however, he was releived and thankful to ecape matrimony!

  358. Naomi Jacobs

I think he was glad, but embarrassed. Trent hates being made a mockery in public.

  359. Mike Mullen

I think Trent has such a driven sense of duty but he didn’t want to go through with it. He was relieved to have the Rachel take him out of the decision and still save face.

  360. Tara Farrell

I believe that when it was all said and done that he was grateful.

  361. Never2old4Glitter

I think that Trent secretly was happy that the wedding was canned. He knew, even then, that something was not right with that match. No amount of “duty” can fix the hot mess that is Elizabeth+Trent!!

  362. Heather Yilmaz

I think he was relieved that he didn’t have to go through with the marriage, ultimately he already knew it wasn’t what he wanted, but that it was something he had to do. I do, however, think he was furious that Rachel screwed up yet another thing in is life and that she still had it out for him.

  363. Mainda

Yes I believe Trent was relieved to have the wedding canceled…but not to arrested by Rachael…

  364. Kirsten

Oh I definitely believe Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding. Maybe not arrest him, you know because he has a reputation and wants to stay out of the limelight, but definitely glad the wedding didn’t happen. Even though he wants to save his race, having to be married into the family would have caused all kinds of unhappiness and problems.

  365. lesley c

He was definitely glad she broke up the wedding.

  366. Brittany Bishop

I think when push came to shove, on the end he was happy about it!

  367. Glad? That’s not what I would guess. Irritated but relieved would be the impression I got. :D

  368. Kathleen Smith

    he is SO happy !!!!!!

  369. Patrick L

I definitely think he was happy about it, especially in retrospect.

  370. Tiffany Gould

    Definitely!

  371. Brady Anderson

I believe that Trent was happy Rachel ended the wedding. Nothin like being with someone that you hate and can’t stand being around.

  372. Cass M

I don’t think Trent was happy, as he prefers to control situations, but I do think he was relieved that he would have this graceful exit from the marriage. It is unlike Trent to shirk duty or responsibility, however much he would dislike the deeds necessary to proceed with some things.

  373. verra

I think that with everything that Rachel does, it annoys Trent when she does it, but that he is glad for it later.

  374. Sue Mac

    Thanks for doing this!

  375. Johanna DeCurtis

Yes, very glad and so was I!

  376. Gemma Short

yep i think it was a way to get out without it being his fault

  377. Melissa Hathaway

I think he was happy she interrupted.

  378. Patty Gallagher-Anderson

I think Trent was happy his wedding didn’t Happen, I think he is secretly in love with Rachel but doesn’t want to admit it to her , or himself.. Besides, if he didn’t have any feelings for her, why would he put up with her stunts?

  379. I think he was happy not to marry her…she was horrid. :)

  380. Deb Welch

I think he’s had a crush on Rachel since he turned her into a rat.

  381. Jen M

I know I was….Trent may not have realized it at the time but it worked out for the best, Ellasbeth is not a nice person to put it politely even though politically it would’ve been a good alliance.

  382. Daphne Bibby

Yes and no. Yes because Trent did NOT want to get married. No because Trent doesn’t like anything he does interfered with.

  383. Crystal

Trent was extremely relieved that Racheal stopped his wedding. He was secretly happy to see Racheal to because he has been in love with her since she was 12!

  384. Rukshala

OH HELL YEAH! Trent was probably super relieved that he managed to dodge a bullet and he *spoiler alert* even thanks Rachel later on in the series.

  385. Sam

I think the practical part of Trent was very angry but in truth he was relieved that she stopped him from fulfilling his obligation.

  386. Rebecca

I think he was definitely glad she stopped the wedding. It’s obvious he doesn’t want to marry Ellasbeth and only feels obligated to. I’m pulling for Trent and Rachel!

  387. Erica Andersen

I think he was grateful, but not for the public humiliation and the arrest that came along with it!

  388. Trent was definitely glad that Rachel stopped the wedding. He didn’t even like Ellasbeth much less love her.

  389. Deep down I think Trent was very happy, but he couldn’t let anyone know that.

  390. Bjørk tyge

Trent was happy, about Rachel stopping his wedding. Yes of course it was embarrassing at the time, but he didn’t want to marry Elizabeth, he didn’t love her. All he wanted out of the marriage, was the baby, and Elizabeth was already pregnant with lucy, so so what? He got the baby, and didn’t have to marry Elizabeth for it. So yes, he was glad, and he wanted Rachel to stop the wedding :))

  391. I think that deep down, Trent was happy that Rachel stopped his marriage to Ellasbeth. Due to his sense of duty to his race to save them, he needed Rachel to save him in this instance. Because of his public personna he was upset that Rachel arrested him, cuffed him and took him to jail. The scene at the church was hilarious and I enjoyed re-reading it this time even more. Thank you Kim for this re-along!

  392. Sarah C

I think that Trent was relieved to stay a bachelor a little longer, and he was amused by the way Rachel was taking a dig at him. Effectively being pretty much the only one to treat him like a real person and not the power house he is. However, I don’t think hr enjoyed the media circus

  393. Jana

Maybe not right at the moment, but later for sure.

  394. Jennifer Hart

I think Trent was very relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding. I mean, who really wants to marry for political reasons anyway?

  395. Melissa

At 1st I think he was pissed but when he really thought about it, he knew it was the best thing to happen. He was only getting married for the better of his people not because he truly wanted too.

  396. lavinia68

I think he was glad that he didn’t have to marry Ellesbeth, but he was also upset that the union of the West Coast and East Coast elves was ruined, for the time being anyways.

  397. Rob Smith

Trent was very glad the wedding was stopped, and I was glad Liz was ticked.

  398. Aylah O'Connell

I think he thought it was the best way to get out of the wedding, and that he was glad he wasnt really all that responsible. Cleaned up a bit of a mess.

  399. Barb

I’ve not been able to follow along with the reading (can’t figure out how).. but I love Rachael! She’s such a complex character and real… shes not perfect and neither is her life. Makes for great reading! Love your work Kim!

  400. Lauren

I definitely think Trent was glad, especially with how upset Elisabeth is with it.

  401. Jaclyn Hawkins

Most definitely. I don’t think he appreciated how it happened at first, but would be thankful it did.

  402. Kerry Ly

I’m sure Trent was glad Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding. I don’t think he want to marry Ellasbeth.

  403. Joylyn

I think he was really angry at first, but then realized what a huge save it was. I think it was the first event that derailed his planned out royal life:)

  404. tosha

I think the cover is awesome and Trent is very happy.

  405. Trent was definitely glad Rachel stopped the wedding via his arrest!

  406. Shana Z

At the time I’m sure he was embarrassed and pissed as hell, but deep down he was grateful. I think the more time that goes by, the more grateful he has become. He would have kept being who he was in that marriage and he didn’t like that guy. He loves the freedom Rachel gives him to be himself.

  407. I think at first he was irritated about the political implications but I think as time went on he was relieved, especially with how Elisabeth handled the “elf quest” situation (didn’t want any spoilers in there).

  408. Chuck Hawkins

I think secretly he was, but also irritated on how it went down.

  409. Karen Mader

Trent was glad to have an excuse! I’m with those who think it was good that Rachel stopped the wedding

  410. kristen springer

I think deep down Trent was happy he was no longer marrying Ellasbeth . He gets to be himself with Rachel. i hope they have a Happy Ending… although I wish it was NOT ending!

  411. erin

i think he was doing his duty, but was relieved that she did!

  412. Sabrina Reese

Yes, I believe he was glad.

  413. Delane

Totally! I think it must have taken him a long time to agree because he knew she was not someone he could “get rid” of as easily as he did the good doctor.

  414. Sabrina Reese

IMO I think he believed he was doing what he should by the marriage. BUT… I really believe he was relieved when the wedding was interrupted.
So, yes, I believe Trent was glad the wedding was off.

  415. Danielle Sullivan

How could anyone NOT be glad to get out of marrying that woman? She’s horrid!

  416. Of course Trent was glad, maybe not at that moment, but later on for sure!

  417. Jennifer Griffin

I think he was glad Rachel rescued him from that marriage!

  418. enrica

i think that trent was unhappy with his limited option on a wife… so yes he was happy when rachel stopped it… although i don’t think he much enjoyed how it was stopped

  419. I think he was shocked as he always is at the gall she has. Amused maybe a bit as well. I love the part where Quen meets Ceri. One of my favorite moments is when she introduces herself. Love it, Kim!!

  420. He did not put up to much of a fight , so think he was glad ….he got to save face from making a big mistake ….and i would so love this prize package <3

  421. Liz

I think he was torn between his sense of duty and really not wanting to go through with it. Plus, he harbours some deep feelings for Rachel.

  422. Cate aka absolutartist1

I haven’t managed to get this far into the series yet, but I love the cover! Thanks for the chance to win! :)

  423. I think Trent was relieved (eventually) that he didn’t have to go through with it. It’s always better to have someone else to blame. :D

  424. Michele Jones

I think Trent was amazed at the audacity on how Rachel did arrest him. However I think he was secretly glad not to be married to Ellsabeth!

  425. Kate Raney

I’m not sure. He wouldn’t have been getting married if he didn’t feel it was the right path for the elves. However, it was probably easy to go along with Rachel since he wasn’t marrying for himself but for the ‘greater good’

  426. Gina Wynn

Yes because it meant he didn’t have to how through with the marriage that he didn’t want but he got to save face as he didn’t cancel it, and he enjoyed the playground hair-pulling routines that he and Rachel played to get each other’s attention.

  427. I think Trent was glad that Rachel interrupted the wedding. I always had the feeling he was interested in Rachel, and was only getting married for ‘political reasons’.

  428. Kelly Lourenco

I think Trent was grateful to Rachel for having stopped the wedding from happening. Even if he didn’t fully aware of it at the time, he was mostly aware of it.

  429. Tiffanie

I believe Trent was glad Rachel arrested him saved him really :)

  430. Little

I think he was happy the wedding was stopped, not so sure he was happy with how it went down.

  431. I believe that Trent was irritated because once again Rachel was trying to have him arrested, relieved because he wasn’t in love with his bride to be, and amused at the way it went down. Rachel doesn’t do anything without flair, and the arrest was epic. Love White Wedding :)

  432. Elana L.

I think that Trent was secretly happy about this because I don’t think he really likes his fiancée but I think he was mad because Rachel arrested him and ruined his plans via Rachel style :)

  433. Rachel Turner Bohin

He was happy for someone else to take the heat for stopping the wedding.

  434. Kristine Clarey

I’m glad that Rachel arrested Trent and stopped the wedding because I don’t think that Elisabeth is right for him. Yes, she’s basically a royal elf, but she’s controlling and too old fashioned. She wouldn’t be good to guide the elf race back into modern society

  435. Heather Jones

Yes! He was just doing what was expected of him, and Rachel gave him an out. :)

  436. Jessica Peters

I think Trent was very glad that Rachel stopped his wedding. He doesn’t seem like he’s willing to marry Elizabeth even now. I’m certain Trent would have gone through with the marriage because that’s what’s expected of him but he would have been miserable the entire time.

  437. Marla

The cover was great and I think trent was relieved. I keep expecting him and Rachel to have a holy cow moment, and I’m continually surprised when he’s a total jerk to Rachel. LOL

  438. spethel

He certainly wasn’t happy she made a spectacle of his wedding, but ultimately I have to believe he was grateful. (I’m certainly grateful–that scene is one of my all time favorites!!)

  439. Tonya

Trent wasn’t happy with being arrested but happy his wedding was stalled :)

  440. janine_g2@hotmail.com

I do think Trent was glad, although at the time never admit it because he “needs to do what he has to for his people”. He never did marry her after he was released.

  441. sara

Hell yes he was glad! you will notice that he dint throw much of a fit when it happened!

  442. Catherine Dement Honan

I think he was, so he didn’t have to marry the winch.

  443. Michelle Wilson

Yes. I think he was relieved. I think the marriage was more of a public display and expected by the families and within his people. Besides, we all know he has a thing for our Rachel. ;)

  444. Ellie

I think Trent was definitely glad deep down. But initially.. no, his temper probably made him extremely peeved.

  445. I think he was glad because he was only marrying for duty and he really didn’t want to. It was definitely not a love match. In public though, he had to at least act upset.

  446. Yes, he was looking for a way out. Rachel provided as always :-)

  447. Rianne Golden

Yes he was happy. Trent loves Rachel always has.

  448. Sandy Kelly

Yeah he definitely was glad she did it!! Otherwise he was stuck with her!!

  449. I CANNOT wait for Undead Pool. I am excited to see where you’re taking Trent and Rachel, or where you’re not going to take them, whatever the case may be. :)

  450. chris

I am sure trent was extremely embarrased by the whole thing in front of everyone important in the city. I’m sure under it all he was a bit relieved also.

  451. Kim S.

Trent was relieved in secret! His public side had to show irritation though.

  452. Felicia

He was definitely glad, just really mad about the handcuffs.

  453. Kim, that cover is fantabulous! I haven’t read that one yet, but the anticipation is like Christmas!

  454. Sarah

I believe he was embarrassed but relieved that she interrupted.

  455. Wendy Marie Rawlings

I think Trent has been waiting since they were kids to a actually take notice. Of course he’s glad there was no wedding.

  456. david dumanski

Yes i believe Trent was happy but just upset the way she did it but then it wouldn’t be Rachel :)

  457. Shelley M.

I think at first he had mixed feelings about it: anger and relief. Relief to have a free pass out of it, but anger because it was Rachel who was responsible for breaking it up.

  458. oh yeah he had no bad feelings for Rachel stopping the wedding lol. i think it gave him the excuse he needed but wouldn’t admit to. and i think it was totally planned that way honestly. he didn’t seem too surprised that she did it…

  459. I think he was embarrased and annoyed at first, especially because of his reason for marrying in the first place, but deep down he was relieved and happy to not have to go through with it.

  460. Amanda H.

He was only doing it out of necessity, and so I am sure he was glad to have a reason to get out of it, even if Rachel’s way was problematic.

  461. Chelle

I think he was very glad.. He didn’t really want to marry her but felt obligated

  462. Leah

I think Trent was relived that Rachel arrested him, though I think he would have been embarrassed that it happened in front of some powerful people, but glad for he didn’t have to go through with the wedding.

  463. Kathleen

I think he wanted to not be glad, but he definitely was. I think everybody was. Lol

  464. jenny

Not at first, I think he was pissed to be embassed but after that yeah he was

  465. Lisa

I think Trent wanted Rachael to stop the wedding.

  466. Elizabeth De La Rosa

I think he was enraged she had the guts to arrest in such a public and personal setting. But I think afterwards he was relieved.

  467. Not really happy, but a bit relieved that he had a way to get out of a marriage that he felt obligated to be in for the good of his species.

  468. Naida

Happy may not be the right word. Trent is all about doing what he thinks is the right thing at any cost. Relieved…now that would be more apropos. Especially with a hot little redheaded witch in the picture.

  469. Ashly Gottschalk

I DEFINITELY think he was glad she stopped the wedding.

  470. I don’t think that Trent minded being arrested on his wedding day, simply because he was doing it for the better of his species, not what he really wanted. If he’d really wanted to marry, he would have put up a bigger fight!

  471. Mai

I think he was annoyed with her tactics which may have threatened his appearance of power. However, overall, I think he was relieved but just wasn’t going to openly admit it! I know I was!

  472. Trent is a smart guy who wants to do what he want, not what he is supposed to do, so while he may have been embarrassed by the arrest, he was happy to not have to be in a marriage he didn’t want.

  473. Cynthia Martin

YES!!! Without a doubt!!! Trent was doing it out of obligation and not love.

  474. Trent was relieved to have had the wedding stopped, but embarrassed to have been arrested, especially by Rachel since he secretly loves her.

  475. Manda

Lol I loved this part. I laughed so hard when her phone rang and White Wedding came on. That was epic! Trent would have done anything for the elven community even it was marrying the devil him(her)self; however, I believe he was relived that Rachael cuffed him and ruined it so he didn’t have to.

  476. Kirsten

It’s a good cover, I think both Rachel and Trent look “prettier” than I imagined them being, IMHO.

  477. Gina

I think he was glad she stopped the wedding.

  478. I love all the covers of these books. It’s so UF and I enjoy the genre so much!

  479. regan hinson

I think he was embarrased for being arrested in front of all those powerful people. Although i think he was glad it happened.

  480. Chelsea S.

I think he had to put on a front, because that is what he was supposed to do, but I think he was very relieved that he didn’t have to go through with the wedding.

  481. Sara Kline

I don’t think Trent was too mad about it. I think he kind of wanted her to stop the wedding. How many times have we seen him just jump in and fight for what he wanted, and if he had wanted it bad enough there would have been an uproar!

  482. Dawn Cavenee

I believe that although it embarrassed him, he was very thankful Rachel stopped the wedding. Trent would have gone through with it because this would help his people. The wedding wasn’t something he wished for himself as an individual. :)

  483. I think Trent was thrilled that Rachel stopped the wedding. I know I was! lol :)

  484. Jessica Griffith

Trent has grown so much throughout this series and at the time of the wedding, I think he was beginning to realize that there were bigger things in store for him. So I think he was somewhat relieved that Rachel pulled a Rachel :) but maybe just didn’t realize how relieved he actually was.

  485. I think part of him was definitely relieved

  486. Toni Matcek

I think Trent only wanted to marry her to for his race. I’m sure hes glad she stopped the wedding.

  487. Of course he was secretly, deep down glad that she stopped it. Otherwise, how would he and Rachel eventually end up together?!

  488. Linda Pauley

Why wouldn’t Trent be secretly relieved Rachel came riding to his rescue? He was just ticked that instead of galloping off into the sunset, Rachel took him for a ride to the police station instead. Hahaha!

  489. Ryan Reynolds

He was ready to do what’ve as needed and expected of him. But his true hidden self was glad for a chance to be free n not lose a piece of himself. Although not one to be publically embarrassed. But overall happy n worth it in the end :)

  490. Carrie Myers

I believe Trent was furious at first, but realized later how much it was for the best.

  491. jaime manning

i think trent is secretly in love/lust with rachel

  492. Brandi B.

Honestly I have not read any of your books but I would love to and I have read awesome reviews. My friends love to read your books too so I’m sure I would love them. I do have one but I haven’t read it yet. Thanks for the opportunity!

  493. Jennifer Symonds

Can it not be a bit of both. Can he not be glad Trent was glad that Rachel stopped the wedding. But pissed that she arrested him.

  494. Heather .S

Absolutely yes I think Trent was very relieved and is still glad that Rachel stopped his wedding.

  495. Kristin Killingsworth

I definitely think Trent was glad! Not sure he liked how it happened, though.

  496. Cathy S

Trent was getting married for the race not for any emotional attachment. I believe, if anything, he was more publicly embarrassed by being arrested, but he expected it from Rachel. Maybe even planned on her getting him out of his marriage commitment.

  497. I think Trent was more than relieved to not have to marry Ellaspeth. I think he was embarassed to be arrested, especially by Rachael. His subsequent arrest and having a person to blame for stopping the wedding, other than him you can just imagine and see how he was secretly doing the “elf dance” in his heart because he was so… happy. Thanks for taking the time to interract with your fans and readers. ;-)

  498. Stephanie Horswood

I think trent has always loved Rachael a little but wont admit it even to himself. Deep down he’s glad the wedding didn’t go ahead.

  499. Angela

At the time, no. But, I think he was glad in hindsight.

    • Theresa Beal

I think he was happy in a weird way cause he did not want to marry her but there was no honorable easy out….Rachael provided that and left him his honor……

  500. Jake Hill

I don’t know if he was relieved about the wedding itself being cancelled. Relieved he wasn’t marrying the bitch who could have been stuck in Antarctica and it would have gotten colder? Absolutely. But the marriage itself was a way of avoiding conflict so I honestly don’t know for sure.

  501. In a subconscious level, I think Trent has wanted to get caught by Rachel in any small way once he realized just how good she was, how unwavering in her convictions, because he wanted to show her that they were wrong, and only someoneas equally hard headed would be able to make that transition to truly understanding why he had to do all he does, and more importantly understand him.
And of course, saving him from duty; the survival of the Species was not something Trent would jeopardize by bailing out of a loveless marriage that would be intolerable despite of Ellasbeth and he spending as little time together as he could manage once joined.

  502. I think Trent was relieved he didn’t have to go through with the marriage, it was a essentially an arranged marriage to someone he didn’t like. I don’t think the liked the very public way she chose to stop it and arrest him, Trent is very much about keeping appearances and doesn’t like to be embarrassed.

  503. Ali

Probably, yes. More importantly, I LOVED that it happened.

  504. Gina Arnett

Yes, I think he was secretly glad she stopped the wedding. It was a political nightmare for him, because it was a political marriage, but I think he’s loved Rachel since they were kids at camp, even if he never admits it.

  505. Christopher

I think he was upset about being arrested in front of all those important people and made a spectacle of. However I think he was glad the wedding was called off and that he has come to appreciate it more as time as gone on. And I want February here quicker so I can find out more of what happens next to Rachel and Trent.

  506. I think Trent was happy & relieved the wedding was stopped, but maybe less than thrilled about the method.

    elizabeth @ bookattict . com

  507. Amy Ryan

Ask my mam talks about are these books she loves them! I love the covers for them very eye catching, I’m definitely gonna read them in the new year once I have the money for the audiobook version :) And before my mam tells me everything about’em before I get a chance to read them! Lol
    Thanks for the giveaway :)

    amieesnow@gmail(dot)com

  508. liz morford

I think trent was happy that rachel stopped the wedding because he didn’t really want to go through with it since he wants rachel but won’t admit it to himself yet.

  509. melissa acquaviva

Yeah i think Trent was relieved she stopped the wedding mabye not happy with being arrested but he still didn’t have to marry her

  510. Shawn Akers

I think Trent was happy to be done with his fiance. She did not make him happy.

  511. Vicky

I think Trent would have been breathing an audible sigh of relief at having his nuptials disrupted!

  512. inkie

Yes, I really think he was! There was no way for him to wriggle out of it without angering or disappointing a lot of people, but this way all the blame falls on Rachel ;)
Of course, if Ellasbeth had hung around to marry him when he made bail, he probably would have just been angry at Rachel for embarrassing him like that.

  513. Cindy Aubert

Yes he was glad but he will keep that opinion to himself. :)

  514. jude

trent, the beautiful elf prince that he is, is so practical. always doing what needs done, without much thought for personal feelings. so….as he was marrying the snoody bitch just for the sake of the elves futures….he did not love her…still….he was NOT happy when rachel stopped the wedding and arrested him in front of so many elves. However, as Trent has secretely loved Rachel deep down since they were kids (and he did not love Ellsabeth) he was harboring an inner happiness about the shocking events…

  515. Aimée Laibida

I think Trent WAS relieved that Rachel arrested him, if only to give him a little more time without Ellasbeth.

  516. melisha aderholt

I think part of him was mad, that cold business part of him that he showed the world. But, that place inside himself that he buried deep down, and often denies, was secretely doing cart wheels.

  517. tuchbike

Trent was happy it was stopped because he feels pushed into all the political stuff.

  518. Julie

I think Trent was grateful but also slightly miffed at the way she did it.

  519. Erin jones

Oh, yes, I do think that Trent was really glad that Rachel stopped the wedding…he might not have shown his thanks to Rachel, but I think internally he was secretly glad that she didn’t let him go through with it.

  520. I think Trent was looking for some type of intervention to stop the wedding – however he seemed non-plussed that it was Rachel arresting him that did the trick!

  521. Michelle R

Trent was overjoyed that Rachel stopped his wedding. As for how she did it, I think he was irritated, and it gave him a giggle.

    • I believe Trent was relieved, in spite of his reaction, because he’s loved Rachel for years. I believe she’s in love with him too, but they’re just both too stubborn to admit it and accept the inevitable.

  522. Stephanie Johnson

I think Trent was happy she stopped the wedding he didn’t really seem to be upset he had to leave. I see more things happening between them. I love the books currently reading Ever After and love the cover to all of them fits each book.

  523. Theresa Materazzi

    Oh yay, he was happy

  524. Katie V

I think he definitely was after a while, who wants to be married to her! lol

  525. PATTY PERRINE

I think Trent was very glad Rachel stopped the wedding. I don’t think he really wanted to marry her and was looking for any way to get out of it.

  526. He was definitely happy she arrested him and stopped the wedding

  527. NancyLynn Southard

Although Trent was NOT happy about being arrested, I think he was very happy that Rachel stopped the wedding. He doesn’t want to marry Elasbeth. He has to marry her, to continue the elf pure line. At least this is what I thought.

  528. I think he was relieved to at least have a chance to postpone what he considered his duty while not having to take accountability for it and being able to lay the blame at Rachel’s feet until he could figure out a way out of it! :)

  529. I think Trent was indeed Happy that Rachel stopped the wedding. Even if he did not show it way to much. He was not all that heart broken. I have grown to love the over grown elf along these books and I look forward to see where he holds up in Rachel’s
    life.

  530. CrystalGB

    Yes, I think he was.

  531. At first I think he was angry and embarrassed. After he calmed down I think he was relieved. This is one my favorites in the series.

  532. Carol

I think he was embarassed, but so relieved he felt like he was being released from prison.

  533. sattie

I think he was very glad because he didnt want to get married anyways he was just doing it out of obligation to his species.

  534. Cassie Galbraith

I’m glad she stopped him… The tension is there for so much more.. they should both be glad, even secretly, that he didn’t marry the cold elf.

  535. Amber Paul

I believe he was glad.. deep down. I for sure was!!!

  536. Grace

I’m sure he was irritated at the time :0) but yes, very much relieved.

  537. Holly Strickland

I do not think he enjoyed the public embarrassment but I do think he was glad she stopped the wedding. Political or not, it was not a good arrangement.

  538. John Bradbury

The Cover looks really nice and from the excerts of the book reads well…I enjoy your work and find it refreshing and not stale like alot of other authors. Its totally Refreshing

  539. Shannon Barrett

I think he was happy about not having to get married.

  540. Trisha

Trent was grateful to Rachel… He may have been irritated about the embarrassment but never did really that woman.

  541. Nancy Galdeano

I think he did when she first stopped it but, I think he realized later that it had to happen at some point.

  542. SAJohnstone

I think he was not happy – he had to shift things around. That marriage was political, most assuredly not a love match and to be inconvenienced like that was annoying (something Rachel does rather well)

  543. Kat

I think Trent was glad after he go over his initial annoyance of having his wedding plans interfered with

  544. Belinda Bowlin

I think Trent is happy that Rachel arrested him because he is secretly in love with her. But I think that he is upset because she is interfering with him keeping his word to marry the terrible little elf.

  545. LeAnne B

I do believe he was glad Rachel stopped his wedding. It was the perfect excuse to not get married.

  546. I don’t think he was happy about it, but realized it was for the best. Rachel knew she had to rescue him.

  547. Julie Elliott

Of course he was glad, I know I was.

  548. Wednesday W

I think at first Trent was mad at Rachel for embarrassing him in front of everyone. However in the end I think he was glad that he didn’t get married.

  549. Amanda Sumsion

Absolutely!!! I think that he was waiting for an excuse not to marry the ice queen…even if she was pregnant with his baby!! and even if he hasn’t realized it just yet, he really wants Rachel and no one else would do :P

  550. Mandy

I wouldn’t say he was happy about the METHOD in which his wedding was interrupted (who wants to get arrested at their wedding?) But, I would say a bit of him WAS relieved.

  551. Sarah Oldham

At first he was probably infuriated – getting arrested at his own wedding and all that. But later he was definitely grateful.

  552. Christine Moriarty

I completely believe that Trent was irritated but relieved that Rachel crashed the wedding. It gave him some of the freedom he craves so much, even if it landed him in cuffs for a bit.

  553. Amanda Higbie

I think he may have been glad the wedding was stopped (I don’t think he wanted to marry her anymore than she wanted to marry him. As it was a ‘Keep the line going’ marriage not one brought on by love.
I don’t think he enjoyed how it was stopped though xp I mean who really wants to be arrested lol

  554. Rayann

I think Trent was extremely glad he didn’t have to marry Ellasbeth. Probably wasn’t happy about being arrested though.

  555. Billie Harvey

He was glad she stopped the wedding, gave him a way out of doing what he didn’t really want w/o “losing face”

  556. I think his marriage was more for duty than anything else. He even told Rachel after she saved him from the river that his fiancee “wasn’t his idea”. So relieved, definitely. Will he admit it…probably not.

  557. Jacqueline Böge

I think yes….he just dont love her…and so rachel was perfetly roght (=

  558. Heather Streible

Yes, he was glad who would want to marry that thing he was going to call a wife.

  559. Omar

I think he wasn’t happy with the way that thinks happened but he sure was happy to dodge the bullet. Go Rachel!

  560. Brenda Rorie-Baety

He was embarrassed more than angry..then he was relieved..Rachael was just doing what she does best..flying by the seat of her pants!! I don’t know why I entered this, I never win, but what the heck!! See you in San Diego in (I think) about 85 days!! (well, that’s when the book drops, I’ll see you as soon as you can get here after that!!) :D

  561. Ed Carson

Yes, I think he was very glad Rachel pulled him out of the wedding.

  562. Toni Maritima

He was relieved, although not pleased. Trent doesn’t do embarrassed well.

  563. I think that he was happy, He is a very proper person so it really was his only way out of something that he did not to happen.

  564. Cat

I think Trent was mad at first since it was such a big production and very political. Secretly, though, he was relieved.

  565. Kim Perry

I think Trent was very happy that the wedding was stopped. I have always thought that he loves Rachel anyways. LOL.

  566. Susan Hagedorn

I don’t think Trent was happy about being arrested, but I think he was glad that the wedding didn’t happen.

  567. Trent was upset but relieved. It was too out-of-control for him but he didn’t really want to marry but felt it needed to happen.

  568. I believe Trent was extremely glad. I think he has had feelings for Rachel for a long time regardless of her heritage.

  569. Yes…Trent was real happy that Rachel stopped him from getting married…although her methods were to be desired. Deep down, he harbors strong feelings for Rachel. Yet, he knows that in order to ensure the existence of his race, he will eventually have to marry (out of duty and honor).

  570. Tyger

To me it seemed like Trent was Happy stopped the wedding, he probably wished it was in another way, but Trent seemed to be like one of those “Lord” that has to marry the daughter of the rival family to unite the houses, but most of those marriage are out of NEED, not love, and while Trent might give the “Image” of cold, he truly wants to find someone to share all the aspect of his live, be it the underground “research” to the political side…. so yes, he was happy when Rachel came to the rescue!

  571. Cassie Robertson

I think he was happy that he didn’t have to follow through with the wedding, but was probably still mad he was getting arrested.

  572. Jonathan Cook

I think that Trent was relieved. He never really seemed to care much for Ellsabeth.

  573. Yes I think Trent was happy Rachel stopped the wedding. I do not think he was in love w/Ellasbeth and was marrying her because he felt that was what he was suppose to do to save his race!

  574. Diane Aitken

I think he was glad she stopped it, and to see it was her doing it too, but had to make a show of being annoyed about it to the public.

  575. Mary Harmon

I think Trent was upset by the public scandal but secretly happy that the wedding was stopped. This was one of my favorite scenes from the series.

  576. Rebecca Woods

Its difficult not to project my personal feelings onto characters that I have become so close to, however I do feel that Trent was relieved to have his wedding interuped.

  577. I think he was pissed to get arrested, but happy to not get married.

  578. Jan

I think that Trent was counting on Rachel to come and break things up. He knew that she would figure out a way to make it all right.

  579. R Stone

Trent obviously did not want to marry Ellasbeth so I think he was very happy to be arrested by Rachel.

  580. Jenny T

I think he was relieved although annoyed/embarassed at the way it happened

  581. No question about it. He was glad in the end. Maybe not right at that moment, but later.

  582. Heather Sterner

Yep, Trent was beyond grateful even though he would never admit it.

  583. Candy Golden

Oh he was absolutely upset about her for interrupting the wedding, but it was more due to political reasons rather than matters of the heart. I also believe that he was embarrassed that the “Great Trent” was arrested in front of all those attending.

  584. Regina

I think he was annoyed in the way he would be if a business transaction fell through, but relieved at the same point because it never seemed like a deal he wanted to make.

  585. Amy Flores

I don’t think he was necessarily glad. I would say more relieved.

  586. dr4nsk

I think that he was waiting for someone to tell him no. He is always doing things in a business point of view, never letting anyone in because he has a persona to uphold.

  587. Ginny

Trent was beyond glad Rachel arrested him at his wedding. Who would actually want to marry a castrating harpie like Ellsabeth?

  588. Donna Murphy

I think, secretly, he was extremely relieved. Maybe not the way she went about it, but still…… I also believe he has feelings for Rachel but he doesn’t know exactly what it is (and may be scared that he has them). On a side note—I love Bis!! I would love to have a gargoyle like him!

  589. Crish Cottrill

I think Trent was glad Rachel arrested him, stopping the wedding because he was not ready to make the commitment of marriage. He was just following the traditions expected of him, I don’t believe he loved Elsbeth to marry her, but the union would benefit him. But Rachel gave him a second chance

  590. Catherine

I think Trent was glad after he go over his initial annoyance of having his plans interfered with.

  591. Cat Moonsong

I think he was grateful to get out of the wedding, no matter how many problems it caused. He really didn’t want to marry his bride, but had no good way out of it either.

  592. I believe he was relived a bit but mad also because it put he was looking at the marriage as a business proposition and it was a blow to his ego and to his business so to speak.

  593. Michele

I think he was humiliated by Ellasbeth’s comments more than Rachel arresting him at his own wedding. I’d hope he was glad the wedding was called off! I was! (Nice ringtone, Rachel….)

  594. Hell Yes! He was extremely thrilled to have the marriage stopped. And knowing that sneaky elf, he had it planned out even to Rachel’s heart stopping way of doing things. Probably already had funds set up to use for damage control! All under that mask of calm!

  595. Kathleen Dunlap

I like to think that Trent was expecting Rachel to interfere. Happy the wedding never happened and ticked that she arrested him!

  596. Latisha Bramlett

I totally think he was glad that she interrupted the wedding.

  597. I think he was happy the marriage did not take place but upset because he had no control over it. If it is one thing that man can not stand it’s losing control. He did not love Ellsbeth But I am pretty sure he loves Rachel. In the end I think he got what he wanted in not marrying her. He just does not relinquish control very well.

  598. Kimberly Belden

I think despite his sense of duty and honor, he was relieved to be saved from that marriage!!
No West Coast signings next year? so bummed!

  599. He was mad, but I think it was more worry about losing the allegiance than anything else. Later on he seems completely ecstatic that he was not tied down. It seems he relies more and more on Rachel to make him feel normal and not having to fake who he is.

  600. violet scott

    I think he was happy

  601. Thanks for The Hollows and the contests both are excellent.

  602. Talitha

Honestly I have to say yes. I gave him a chance to be himself and not what was demanded or expected of him by everyone else.

  603. I think he was relieved. I don’t think he wanted to marry her even then, but had a sense of duty to his people. (That’s a lot for one man to shoulder, as we learn more details later on.)

  604. Jim

Well, duh. Of course Trent was glad, his Elfin politics aside he was beginning to figure out that intended spousal unit was a complete nutter.

  605. Calendula

I believe it was his plan. I just do not think it was necessarily the way he wanted it carried out in public because of his image.

  606. Susan Meek

Oh he was glad, no doubt about it!

  607. I think trent part of him was glad. I dont think he loved lizbeth. I think he was doing it out of a sense of duty and to continue his race. But he also wanted to be part of the ” family” that could be made. So when Rachel stopped the wedding I think he was relieved he wasnt marrying a horrible woman, but let down because it meant part of the ideal was not going to happen for him.

  608. On the exterior Trent never seems to forgive Rachel for whatever she does that’s in his best interest.

  609. Renee Meister

I believe that Trent, while he did not show it, felt relieved that he did not have to marry Ellasbeth, though he may have been afraid of losing his daughters over it. I think he was unhappy with having to marry her, but also was embarrassed about not standing up for himself (not that he had much choice) and being “arrested” in public, which could place him in infamy. I also think he was happy when he realized he was free from Ellasbeth and to love someone else.

  610. Kathy C.

I’m not sure about Trent, but I know I was certainly glad that the wedding was stopped! :)

  611. I think it was both. Part of him wanted the marriage to go through for the duties he thinks he had to feel, but a small part was relieved someone intervened in the wedding as he dislikes Elsbeth and also he would never be happy with her. I know he disliked the scandal, though, and was angry too at the same time. So it was a mixed bag for him.

  612. Nicole G.

Trent was very relieved to have Rachel arrest him. He was able to blame someone else for him not doing what was considered best for the elves.

  613. Michelle Darbonne

Oh yes trent was glad. I think he knew rachel was going to do something to interfere with it. But i do believe he was surprised at being arrested LOL. Trent ALWAYS has a plan.

  614. Lizzy G.

I think he was a bit secretly relieved as it was a bad choice for him personally, but peeved because he was sarificing to do “the right thing” for the elves.

  615. ranae walsh

I think he was happy because he didnt want to get married.

  616. Absolutely! But I think that Trent may have machinated it just so to get out of the wedding and was relieved; he only acted pissy because Rachel cut it close! (a.tiffy.fit at gmail dot com)

  617. Allison

I absolutely think Trent was pleased that the wedding didn’t happen…Although I’m sure he wished for a little more tact. But honestly, this IS Rachel we are talking about! ;)

  618. Ida

Awesome series – Trent is happiest whenever he has an encounter with Rachel and she basically rescued him from a wedding he really did not want to go through with to begin with.

  619. leah panton

    Love the cover

  620. Kim Stewart

Oh yeah he was relieved, I was relieved, I think I hated Elspeth more than he did

  621. Liz Scott

He really didn’t act like he was upset at missing his weding. He was more upset by the arrest.

  622. Mary

So glad Trent didn’t have to finish the wedding and I think he was too. Way to go Rachel!

  623. Cherie Dumas

I definitely think he was happy but not right away. Because it messed up his own plans.

  624. In the end, yes, but Rachel’s methods did leave a little dent in his pride.

  625. Kim Stewart

Oh yeah, Trent seemed glad, just didnt want to show it. I know I was glad!

  626. Tonya S

I love all of the covers. From the comments, it looks like yes, he was glad

  627. Breanna S

I think he was upset for the sake of his personal appearance and being arrested at his wedding, but I think he was glad on a personal level that she could postpone it for a little longer.

  628. He was but he planned it from the start. EVERYTHING Trent does is part of his plans…

  629. Michael Murphy

Trent is relieved every time she shows up and does anything. She is a stone in the placid pool of his life, ripples that cause his world to turn.

  630. Joyce Anderson

At the time, Trent was furious with Rachel about arresting him at the wedding. He believed it was the only way to save the Elf species. But, now I know he is very happy that he didn’t have to marry someone he was not in love with! Now I think he should marry Rachel because, he is the only one she could safely have a baby of her own with!

  631. brittney gathright

    Love love love your books

  632. Whitney Riggleman

Whether he knew it or not at the time, Trent was glad Rachel ruined the wedding. They are meant to be together, it’s just a frustrating work in progress.

  633. Emily

I think Trent was very relieved to be out of the wedding, I just don’t know if he was interested in the method of cancellation. I was relieved too!!

  634. Tiffany slean

I think for the sake of his public image he was angry for her arresting him. But I believe the true Trent was grateful that she stopped the wedding and kept him from marrying Ellasabeth.

  635. Allyson Hawkins

When I read it, I saw that ever so slight and brief smile on his face as Rachel walked him down the isle in handcuffs. lol

  636. samantha adams

of course he was happy to have the wedding stopped now the arrested part maybe not. but you know that part of him was impressed she stood up to him.

  637. Christi Green

Yep! Angry & embarrassed but relieved at the same time.

  638. elizabeth braithwaite

I think he was relieved but would have gone through with it for public image.

  639. Terri Conner

Absolutely! He got out of his ‘duty’ and Rachel got the blame for it.

  640. Jana B

I think Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding, especially later on in the series. He didn’t really want to marry her, even though he felt it was his duty. Thanks for the giveaway!

  641. I think Trent was relieved that Rachel stopped that wedding. I always believed that and it was somewhat confirmed when the entire story unfolded about it later in the series.

  642. He may not have totally realized it at the time but he at least knew he had dodged a bullet by having the wedding stopped! Whether or not he was happy that it was Rachel who stopped it…I think he was furious and pleased at the same time!

  643. Talia Smith

I think that Trent was relieved that Rachel arrested him at his wedding because Ellasabeth may be an elf but she isn’t very nice and they don’t have much in common.

  644. Stephanie F.

I think he was relieved that she arrested him and stopped it. I think that’s the start of him realizing what he wants matters too, not just the good of his race.

  645. Jenna Bullock Eckman Papcin

I think mixed emotionsplus having to put up a certain front, annoyed at timing, relieved, angry she was in control vs him, underneath I think pleased… In a way…

  646. While he may have been a little bothered by the whole circus, I believe he was glad that the situation gave him a way out. It would only take Rachel to do it,and I think he knew it!

  647. I love all of your covers! I have your books added to my TBr list, but haven’t read them yet.

  648. Beckie

At the time, I’m pretty sure Trent was livid with Rachel for turning another aspect of his life into a public spectacle he had no control over; but the real Trent, who still hadn’t quite cracked out of that shell yet was ecstatic to find a way out of that portion of his obligations without losing face by breaking it off himself. Actually, it makes me wonder now if he wasn’t hoping for something like that, so the old Elven traditions could come into play in the long run. Methinks Trent would rather play the long game the hard way to save himself.

P.S. LOVE the toe tag. Even knowing the series is set in Cincinnati, now that I live here the details (like “Hamilton County Coroner’s Office”) always catch me off guard and make me giggle when they sneak up on me. You don’t always put them into the books, but things like the toe tag remind me you know those details, which is why the world is so vibrant even without them jumping off the page.

  649. Shardae Alford

I don’t think trent was ready for that commitment, and that he was totally happy Rachel ruined his wedding.

  650. From the standpoint of Trent having to conform to everyone’s image of him, and be the big savior of the elf race, I think he wasn’t. It took away a political advantage.
I think the true Trent that he doesn’t show to the world was extremely relieved.

  651. Sandee Barry

Of course he was miffed but they both end up doing what’s best for the other without knowing they’re doing it right? Love hate thing mwith more love as time goes by.

  652. Angela Percival

Your covers are always so intriguing and I’m really enjoying reading the series. Thanks.

  653. Alyson

I think he was just waiting for her to arrest him and give him the excuse to get out of the marriage. There was no other way for him to say no and he needed the arrest, but I don’t think he appreciated the fact that Rachel did it at the wedding.

  654. Melodie

Heck Ya!!! Secretly he was thrilled… probably annoyed too…. But it had to be done!!!! :-)

  655. Trent always walks that line between the mischievous boy that knew Rachel way back when – and is subsequently fascinated by her – and the mature businessman he was groomed to be. He likes Rachel giving him a “cover” for it, I think. So – yes and no. He was happy she messed up his wedding, but I think he was annoyed as all hell that she got him arrested to do it. One is great as a prank, the other is very annoying for a businessman, haha!

  656. I think Trent was SUPER GLAD. He just didn’t show it.

  657. Brittany

I think Trent was surprised and happy that Rachel stopped the wedding just too much of the manly man that he is to properly show it.

  658. I absolutely believe that Trent was relieved that he didn’t have to go through with the wedding. We’ll see if he finds a way to get out of it now.

  659. Kharen H.

I do think he was secretly happy, but he has his role to play, so has to play it off. And hopefully he will never have to go through with the wedding.

  660. Emily

I think he was relieved, but would never admit it. In fact, I was relieved. ;)

  661. Deep down he was elated that Rachel had stopped his wedding to Ellasbeth. I believe he felt obligated to marry her for the good of the Elven race since she was pregnant with Lucy at the time. (I secretly hope that the little “Cookie Maker” and Rachel become an item !!)

  662. Danny Weaver

I think at this point in his development that no Trent was not happy with Rachel. I believe Trents public image overrides any other consideration. If after a public peacock display of himself there might have occoured some personally distasteful event Trent would deal with it however he chose in private and concluded to whatever level Trent can minipulate it toward his owndesired ends. Public image is everything for Trent even at the expense of his personal life.

  663. Erika B.

I think Trent was probably pretty happy he had an excuse not to marry Ellasbeth.

  664. sheila collins

I believe he was relieved, I also believe that under the blustery that she was too. Since this was an arranged marriage, it wasn’t her choice either.

  665. pbandksandwichKelly

He was furious at her audacity, but secretly glad he didn’t have to marry the ice queen.

  666. Jessica

    I believe so….so was I!!!!

  667. Caitlin Tripler

Yes, I think he was happy that she did in the long run. You could tell he wasn’t interested, nevermind being in love.

  668. Mellissa B.

Honestly, yes. I think that Trent was torn between his duty to his race, and being happy and being himself. It’s very hard to see him try to get Rachel to understand him, and I’m so glad she’s now starting to see that there are many sides of people, and sometimes you do what you must for those you love. She’s getting that now, and seeing that Trent knows what that’s like and what might seem like casual ruthlessness isn’t always what it seems. I love this series so much!! :)

  669. Kelley

Trent was so thankful she stopped the wedding. He did not want to marry Ellasbeth.

  670. Sondra Jo

At this point in the series – I think Trent was mad that Rachel stopped the wedding. I think the readers were glad – but not Trent. I don’t think he liked having his plans disrupted.

  671. audrey

I think he was conflicted about it. Happy since he really really didn’t want to marry her and irritated about the public humiliation. Ohhh and can you imagine having to plan a wedding with that woman. He probably went through hell to just plan it and trying to please Elisabeth.

  672. Frances Baker

I think Trent found it inconvenient and lost likely embarrassing to be arrested at your wedding. I am sure once everything settled down he took a deep breath and said thank the Goddess.

  673. Beth Rosser

I do think Trent was happy that Rachel stopped the wedding because he knew he would have been miserable. Also, I’m still holding out for the two of them to get their “ever after.”

  674. I think he was thrilled, though he hated the negative publicity!

  675. Sarah

I think Trent was not happy at first but was please when he calmed down.

  676. Trent was definitely relieved to get out of the marriage :)

  677. Jackie Prowle

I certainly think Trent was happy Rachel stopped the wedding. I think he was only going through with it under a sense of duty to the Elven race.

  678. Valerie

Yes Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding but wasn’t to thrilled of how she went about it…

  679. Like anyone stuck between doing what he knows he should for the greater good and what he wants for purely selfish reasons Trent was jumping for joy on the inside. I mean its one thing to work towards the continuation of your species but its quite another to tether yourself to someone you genuinely dislike for the rest of your life. So yeah I think Trent’s only real problem is how does he repay Rachel for the debt he has incurred.

  680. Crystal Thain

I think Trent was secretly relieved to be arrested and the wedding to be stopped. There was no obvious love between he and his fiance’ but he was willing to marry for the sake of his race.

  681. Angela McMillan

Of course he was happy. He never loved her. He only felt obligated.

  682. Huda Ansari

Of course he was happy. I think since then we’ve seen that as seriously he takes the burden of saving his race he resents the fact that his life is not his to live. The wedding was one of those things that Trent the saviour had to do even though Trent the man didn’t want to.
So happy he didn’t marry her! I’ve been waiting for Trent/Rachel to happen since book 1:-)

  683. vanessa draves

He was happy to not be married but didnt like the embarassment of a public arrest.

  684. Jamie

Yes I think he was glad the wedding was stopped.

  685. I think trent was very happy. I agree that he basically handcuffed himself. lol

  686. JoeCoots

Trent was happy, relieved and also angry. He had very mixed feelings…

  687. Of course he was glad!! Frankly,so was I!

  688. Cecilia cuevas

Hell ya!!! He was happy, he didn’t even put a good fight when she dropped into the ceremony. Who would want to marry that stuck up elf. I think he always had a thing for Rachel.

  689. T Kelly

Well that is a tricky question. Trent knew she was prego so I think he would have married her for the sake of the baby. However, I do think he was relieved to not be married and permenently tied to another and her family. Plus he is in love with Rachel at least that’s what I hope for.

  690. Ivia

Yes, he was at least relieved (Even if Rachel did complicate things for him). I was relieved too.

  691. Trent was happy Rachel stopped his wedding, it was all a sham to please people he really didn’t care about pleasing in the first place. He was doing it to preserve the Elvaan race, not for love. Though he would never come out and say it to Rachel…

  692. I have enjoyed reading your books. Have even gotten a few other people to read – and they have enjoyed. Hope you keep up the great job of writing.

  693. zanzeeb

I think he was upset at the time. Trent has a plan for everything and dislikes having his plans disrupted. Later, after he thought about it, he was relieved.

  694. I am sure Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding. That Ellasbeth is a miserable character! :D

  695. charley

Al is so funny he acts like an overgrown child which he can get away with. I enjoy the whole series tho!

  696. Ashley Fails

Trent absolutely wanted it ! He hated that woman and the wedding was more out of obligation than anything else. Rachel did him a favor.

  697. Brandy Jones

Oh Trent was looking upset that she stopped his horrible wedding from happening and was hard press not to run to Rachel as fast as he could to have her handcuff him on the outside; but on the inside I Think Trent was jumping up and down for joy that Rachel came to his rescue (that he would never admit too though) which something we find out later on in the series! Tent and Rachel like each other very much and can’t wait to see what happens next with them.

  698. Trent was definitely happy the wedding was stopped! I think Rachel lite up his world just a little bit more that day, and of course he was damn cute in his suit that struck a little nerve in Rachel too!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  699. Noelle Loberg

In Ever After and the short little excerpt in Into the Woods, Trent makes it seem like he is legitimately upset that Elizabeth walked out on him. I do believe Trent does not actually want to marry Elizabeth, and that he was relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding. However at the same time he wants to repopulate the world with Elves and can’t do that without sacrificing his own happiness and marrying her. So it’s kind of a torn feeling, at least that’s how it seems for me.

  700. I think he was glad she stopped the wedding, but wasn’t up to admitting it right away. And was I ever glad she did! What a mess that could have turned into! However, I don’t think he was happy that he was arrested. Who would be?

  701. Lisa

I think Trent was as thankful as I was. I really didn’t want him to marry her ;-)

  702. Tirza Ulloa

Yep, Trent was totally glad Rachel arrested him. It was so obvious that he didnt want to marry.

  703. Krystle Streight

Oh you know Trent was ecstatic that Rachel stopped the wedding, he pretty much handcuffed himself lol

  704. Trent is a very duty-bound person; he is trying to save his race after all. While we know he didn’t truly want the marriage he believed it was a necessary step in his quest. I think being arrested infuriated him and embarrassed him – initially. Then I think he was relieved. Ellasbeth was not exactly the most loving woman and who wants a loveless, passionless marriage? Just because something needs to be done does not meant that the person wants to do it.

  705. Katherine Jenks

Yes, I think he was ecstatic.

  706. Stacie Drever

I think he was, though he’d never admit it.

  707. Elizabeth C

Trent must have been very happy when Rachel arrested him.

  708. Krystle Streight

Oh you know Trent was ecstatic that she stopped the wedding, he pretty much handcuffed himself lol

  709. Elyse Stevens

I think on a personal level Trent was glad. But his business side that makes all the plans was pretty pissed with Rachel for messing up what he had set up.

  710. Knowing Trent now, and looking back at stopping the wedding…he totally counted on that somewhere deep down…Ellsabeth….just EWW. He knew things about Rachel, but it’s way easier to say that when you’re a few books ahead.

  711. I think that Trent was glad that Rachel stopped Trent from getting married. He was angry because of the public humiliation that it caused him, but in all I believe that he appreciated it.

  712. Fiona

He’s very much about appearances. I think he needed something to happen to stop the wedding because it was obvious there was no chemistry. He wasn’t happy about the arrest but content the wedding was called off. He also has a lot of contacts so getting out prison wasn’t really an issue

  713. Shannon

I think Trent was furious that his carefully planned political schemes were trampled, but I think he was secretly relieved to be out from under the pressure having to go down that path.

  714. Yes he was glad! Rachel, handcuffs or zipstrips, how could he not be happy? *wink*

  715. I think that he was relieved but too proud to show it. He would have gone through with it, though, if the interruption hadn’t happened. He’s definitely got a lot of pride. I was absolutely happy!

  716. Chiara Fattorelli

He was upset and glad someone had the guts to stand up and stop that nonsense… And leaving him free to pursue a different path…

  717. Dale Bicknell

Definitely happy to get out of it :)

  718. lauren

I think he was glad; he wanted her to stop the wedding. He certainly didnt want to marry elizbeth but knew that he had no choice and he didnt want to loose face.

  719. Kyla

I think that Trent was estatic when Rachel stopped the wedding… At least on the inside ahah. He was only marrying the woman for political means due to his other interactions with Elasbeth he did not like her in the least

  720. Emily

    I think he was glad

  721. Eva

I think Trent defenitely was relieved, despite the political complications he was faced with!

  722. Porsha Mills

Of course Trent was happy. I’m sure he was secretly hoping for her to come to his rescue. He has some deep seated anger issues and directs them towards Rachel when really it’s not her fault. can’t wait to see how all this plays out in the next book!

  723. Tony Antheunis

Deep down Trent didn’t want the wedding and knew that Rachel was the only one that would screw it up for him

  724. Tammy

I think he was glad, but wouldn”t admit it to Rachel.

  725. Lou Ann Ashmore

I love all of the covers. They are haunting and dark and scrumptiously dangerous. Love your work and the names of the books.

  726. Tina Knight

I think Trent was glad to have Rachel stop him from marrying, but I think he was furious for the public embarrassment.

  727. Rachelle Resendez

I think Trent was pissed because he doesn’t like having his plans foiled, even something like marrying a woman he hates. Trent has a reason for doing everything and its usually super complex and thought out. Whether or not he was happy about it later is a different question (though we all know he is).

  728. Daryl Kline

I think Trent was happy and relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding but annoyed and irritated by how she went about it and arresting him.

  729. Shannah George

Love your series!!! Hope I’m a big winner 😄

  730. Monica Marianni

Yes, he was definitely happy that Rachel stopped the wedding. He might have seemed annoyed but he was secretly happy.

  731. dawnn

I think he was relieved that the wedding was stopped, but too proud to show or say it.

  732. jenny williamson

I think he was thrilled, relieved, and embarrassed all in one moment.

  733. Yes! Trent was glad to get out of that marriage! Would you want to marry Ellasbeth? Didn’t think so…

  734. Laura Stratton

I think the emotional side of Trent was grateful she stopped the wedding, but maybe the scientific side of him was a little disappointed.

  735. mandy newberry

I think he was relieved. I was glad she did it!

  736. Natalia Chacon

    *future book spoiler alert*

Trent had to have had mixed feelings about it, mostly because he must have known she was pregnant. Did he want to marry her? Nah, but he is business through and through and that’s what that marriage was. Just another business venture. He was secretly glad not to marry her even though he would never ever admit it, even to himself.

  737. I think he was definitely relieved! It was more having to than wanting to. I know I am happy he didn’t get married!

  738. I think he was relieved. I mean I think he was pissed that he was publicly humiliated, but I think he was relieved the wedding didn’t go off.

  739. Linda Miller

I think Trent was pleased even though he considered it his duty to marry her to save his race. I am sure he was irritated about the public embarrassment, but he was appreciative in the long run.

  740. Stephanie

I don’t think trent was in love and was glad his wedding was interupted. I think the marriage is only for social class and he knows he would be unhappy with Ellasbeth cause she seems cold toward Trent.

  741. Christina

I think he was relieved he didn’t have to marry that harpie, but trent likes to look like he’s in control, even when he isn’t. But… I also think he likes watching Rachael, trying to figure out what she’s going to try next!

  742. He was definitely glad and relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding. Less with the public way she did it !

  743. Kimberly

Oh, I think Trent was furious! But, not because she stopped the wedding. He was definitely happy about that. He was infuriated that she embarrassed him!

  744. Peggy

I think he was very relieved. I started waiting after this for the time they would realise how they felt about each other. Still waiting.

  745. Heather WEbber

Love the book cover! it rocks!!!

  746. kckurra

I think Trent was happy the wedding was stopped just not necessarily that it was Rachael that stopped it or how she did it.

  747. jenny

I think Trent was relieved and embaressed.

  748. Tina

Yes, I think he was glad but I think he wanted to go through with the wedding because he felt it was needed at the time.

  749. Sherry Brown

Yes. He was glad. Although I don’t think he appreciated it being done in front of so many.

  750. SL

I think he was ticked but a secret part of him loved it.

  751. Victoria Fear

He was elated, of course. She was a complete B. The only reason he got upset is because he was embarrassed by the way Rachel did it.

  752. Deborah

Yes, he was definitely glad! Absolutely!

  753. Barb W

I think he was relieved on one level because it’s clear, at this time, that he doesn’t love her but is still going through with it for some reason we don’t know of yet. But his arrest was so public. I think that that interruption more than anything else happening that day is what fired him up. Once again Rachel threw him off balance.

  754. zoe burnett

I think he wasn’t pleased with how public it was, but Trent was relieved when Rachel stopped his wedding none the less. We all know how he feels about Rachel! I personally have my fingers crossed for him to end up married to Rachel in the end ;)

  755. Kerri Satterfield

Are you kidding? He was happy, no he was ecstatic! He was grateful, but could not show or express it. Elsbeth was awful, and a marriage of obligation is the worst kind! Besides who better to rescue you from the precipice of hell on Earth than a beautiful woman you secretly have feelings for, even unrealized feelings.
You rock! Keep on with your witchy work!

  756. Jennifer OKane

I think deep down he was very happy she did. I have a feeling he’s had a thing for her since they were children..and being a typical guy, he didn’t/doesn’t know how to show it. And he had to act affronted when she did it because that’s his public persona

  757. Rachelle

I would like to believe that Trent was happy (I know I was!). He wouldn’t admit it aloud because of his honor and principles, though ;)

  758. Andrea Atwood

I think he was royally ticked off at the time, because it embarrassed him publicly, but secretly relieved soon after.

  759. Sandra Sepulveda

I think he was bothered at first because he felt it was his duty and the arrest was so public, but he did think her for it.

  760. Megan Parisi

Yes, he was glad! One of my favorite parts of the entire series!!!

  761. Tim Osborne

omg yes he was glad to not have to be tied to that bossy broad and he had a crush on Rachel anyway

  762. I think Trent was secretly hoping that Rachel would find a way to stop his wedding, but arresting him at his own wedding, in front of Cincy’s most elite. I think Trent was one pissed off elf! That being said, the end result was to his benefit.

  763. Heather Wicks

Because it’s finals week, I haven’t finished the book. But I love it so far and love the cover.

Also, please please please set up a tour stop in Chicago!!

  764. Tina Overby

Trent was definitely happy as I believe he was already falling for Rachael!

  765. Sarina Cella

I think Trent definitely was happy Rachel stopped his wedding. He did not want to marry her!

  766. abigailewhite

I think he was initially pissed and had resigned himself to marrying Ellasbeth because it was in the best interest of the elves. However, I don’t think it was long before he realized it was a huge relief to have gotten out of it, especially since Ellasbeth didn’t stick around as he had asked. I believe too that part of his anger was that Rachel had arrested him and he was not in control.

  767. Lindsey Wineland

I think he was annoyed by the public spectacle, but of course he was relieved…he was obviously not fully invested or he would have married her later….

  768. Laurie Decker

Yes! Best thing that could have happened to him and he knows it.

  769. sarah brisky

Yes I do think he was glad cuz he didn’t love her

  770. hansgirl3

Yes, Trent was definitely glad Rachel stopped the wedding. :)

  771. Adrian Bloxham

Trent was glad. He didn’t want to marry her just needed to do his duty. He was given a way out and was happy.

  772. Katherine S

Oh yes, Trent was definitely glad he didn’t end up having to marry that b****. And I know I was very glad he didn’t!

  773. Mike B

Yeah I think he was although he’d never admit it

  774. Jessica Kruckeberg

When I read the scene it felt like Trent set Rachel up to arrest him.

  775. amandadelaplane

I think Trent was moon walking out of the place in his head, no way he went with Rachel so easily otherwise.

  776. Joni Hutchings

I think he was annoyed and relieved at the same time.

  777. Yes, Trent never loved Elizabeth. She’s a controlling, manipulative “witch” (elf) and I think Trent was secretly relieved.

  778. I think that Trent was very glad. I think that he loves Rachel and has since childhood.

  779. Honestly, he seems to be the type of person that knows what he’s doing and does things for a specific reason. He’s played dumb before, so why would he stop then? He was “pissed” to make it seem more believable that he didn’t want the wedding to be interrupted, so he used Rachel as an easy out and a scape goat to appease the public and his reputation. But I mean come on, he’s had to have had a secret crush/love for Rachael since he was young (all the hard times he’s given Rachel), even if he denies it. She was, in a way, his knight in shining armor that day.

  780. I think Trent was glad after the initial shock of her arresting him. I think he was relieved he didn’t have to get married but did not like the consequences and how public the arrest was.

  781. J. Smietana

I think he was initially upset because he lost control of the situation…and Trent loves to have complete control in any situation, but longs for a life like Rachel’s. The trained heir within his psyche was also disturbed about the break in decorum and dishonor the breach of contract caused. He was absolutely relieved not to spend the rest of his life with the she-bitch. He has always been drawn to Rachel but has been forced to protect his species by all means necessary.

  782. Chrysta

Yea I Think Trent was happy she stopped the wedding. I don’t think he really wanted to marry her but thought he absolutely had to.

  783. Indy

I am totally embarrassed that I’m this behind in my reading, but I am. I haven’t finished this book yet. I do love the cover. Looks amazing, but I don’t think you’ve ever had a cover that wasn’t

  784. Alicia

Yes absolutely yes. I think he was very happy it wasn’t going to happen. Although the feeling may have been deep down inside. She’s like his Knight in shining armor, where the prince arrests the princess and prevents her from marrying the Ogre.

  785. Adam Ali

I think Trent was glad, solely based on his love for Rachel.

  786. Kathy Fusto

I think it’s clear Trent wanted out of the wedding. So, he not only got out of the wedding, he embarrassed his would-be wife, and feels gratitude towards Rachel. Just admit it! He loves her! And maybe she loves him too but I am growing ever more fond of Al maybe getting romantic with Rachel!!!!!!

  787. Rebekah Weaver

Yes, I think he was glad she did, but he’d never admit to it, you know, like any man wouldn’t…:D lol

  788. Bonnie

I absolutely adore the world you created! Perfect break from the real one, especially when I was deployed . Thank you!

  789. Amanda Brubaker

I love these books!!! I can’t wait to see what happens!

  790. Marlena Jackson

Yes, I think he was glad:)

  791. I truly believe it was the one time I felt sorry for the Elf. For him to feel it was nessessary for them to marry was just sad. I was upset that I felt pity for him because I don’t believe he deserves my emotion. Still, it was a win/win for satisfaction. He didn’t get married and Rach got to slap her cuffs on him. Too bad it wasn’t in the “fun” type way. Can’t wait to reread the next book. Good luck everyone!

  792. Yes i think he was happy about it. His sense of duty wouldn’t allow him to do it himself….he doesn’t love her to begin with…he’s just taking one for the team! To further the elves species. She saved him from himself and all the expectations….go Rache!

  793. Trevor P.

Despite sharing the same first 3 letters of my name with the guy, I rarely understand what he’s doing.

  794. Trent does not like to be embarrassed in public especially by Rachel. …but he got over it and was glad in the end that the wedding was stopped….cause we all know he really loves Rachel. …and the cover rocks. ..I love these books. ..also because I’m from the Cincinnati area.

  795. Sally Pilgreen

I think ultimately he was glad, but not right away and not publicly. His marriage to Ellasbeth was what he thought he had to do to fulfill his duty to his race/father, but deep down, his spirit wants to be free to make his own choices for his happiness, even though he decided to put his own happiness aside for duty. Rachael meets Trent on equal terms (or at least does after they get to understand each other better), and this gives Trent the freedom to be more of his true self with her. How could he not fall in love with that!

  796. He was so happy but had no way of showing it because of his political face. It certainly wouldn’t have suited him to jump for joy and publically annouce he didn’t like her one bit.

  797. Shy@Doctor's Notes

This cover is so amazing on so many levels.

  798. Michelle

Yes, I think he was glad.

  799. Neha

Glad? I bet Trent was shittin his pants on the way to the altar… Overjoyed with relief is more like it….LOL.. GO RACHEL!

  800. Christine Braun

I absolutely think Trent was happy that Rachel stopped the wedding. I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens with the Trent, Ellsbeth Rachel trio. Amazing writing keep up the fantastic work, these guys have all become a part of my world thanks to you.

  801. Katy McCleary

    Yes!

  802. Laura Moody

If he was upset, it wasn’t because of the end result but the method. He didn’t love her at all, but he wouldn’t like any business merger being disrupted ;-) And Rachel took WAY too much pleasure in it, because she doesn’t want to acknowledge her feelings ;-) Can’t WAIT till the next book!

  803. Katie

I think deep down Trent was happy and relieved Rachel arrested him to stop the wedding. While he wants to provide a unified and strong front for the remaining Elves, he doesn’t love his bride to be and really doesn’t want to stick to that duty. He is going to conform and accept the mantle of his duty and responsibility, but he wants to do it more on his terms, not those forced on him. Her stepping in the way she did, gives him a little bit of breathing room and allows him a bit of fun. Even if he won’t admit it aloud.

  804. Jackie V

    Definitely happy

  805. Sue

I think he was happy she stopped the wedding, but not HOW she stopped it.

  806. I think Trent was glad, but would never want to admit it. :)

  807. Becka Knutson

I think that Trent was secretly happy that Rachel interrupted the wedding. While Trent knew that marrying that woman was best for his species, and the families, he knew she was a nasty, snooty person. And although he isn’t human, he still wants happiness. For him happiness and saving the Elves isn’t always the same.

  808. Lisa Campbell

Sooo telling. They would make an amazing couple. Their future is wide open…

  809. I think he was very happy even if he didn’t admit it to himself at first.

  810. Trisha Jones

I think Trent was glad Rachel got arrested, that way she would stop being in the way. But was bothered by the fact she stopped the wedding

  811. Andrea Stocking

I think it was a relief! I really do think there’s a bit of heat between Trent & Rachel :) I’d love to see more.

  812. Jennifer N.

I think he was secretly relieved that Rachel stopped the wedding. However, I think he had to remain stoic to remain Trent. He just can’t show weakness.

  813. Harlena Dyer

I think that Trent was secretly relieved, but still angry that it was so public.

  814. Jamie

I know I was happy when this happened. In the beginning I think he was a but upset about the ordeal as this would have brought in more revenue and power (as if the man really needs more). As time went on I think he finally realized that wasn’t truly what he wanted; tat he didn’t want to be romantically tied down to Ellasbeth.

  815. Kirsty

I’m not sure glad is the word. I think he was relieved in a way that he didn’t have to go through with it but he was honour bound to wed to keep his species going.

  816. Jennifer Brummell

I don’t think that Trent has ever been happy with anything that she’s done. I do think that he’s always secretly had a ‘thing’ for her. I’m sure he wasn’t happy to be arrested at his wedding, but I’d bet he was happy to not have to marry HER!

  817. Jacque Greene

I am conflicted by this question because I have asked myself the very same one. I believe he was mad as all hell when it happened but I think he was happy about it after things quieted down. But all is this were true why is he on that road again? Is it truly out of necessity because of the girls? And what would Ceri think about it?

  818. I think at the beginning, Trent was upset because he is NOT used to anyone stopping him from doing Anything. But in reality, Elisabeth is a nasty piece of work. I am sure he was thrilled it was stopped!!

  819. He was definetly glad she stopped him, and that was also one of my favorite moments in the book. It was funny, especially when her phone strted ringing White wedding

  820. Sue Johnson

Trent was not happy at the time but as time went on I think he realized she did a good thing.

  821. Yeah, he was relieved all right. Nothing worse than having to do something for honor and family and all that and nothing better than someone else getting you out of it and leaving you without culpability. Huzzah, Rachel.

  822. i think he was very glad she stopped him.

  823. Leanne Gagnon

I love your book cover! I did read your last book but unfortunately I would need to read a chapter to get my memory running. I have problems remembering things lol

  824. Sandra Hansen

I am certain that Trent wasn’t happy about being arrested. He was definately happy about her stopping the wedding.

  825. Maria Vazquez

I think Trent was happy not to be getting married. Seriously, the man has a blistering torch for Rachel. (Meant in the best way-not in the raging std way)

  826. Sandy s

    Yes and no

  827. Edel leonard

Angry at first but I’m sure he came round and saw the benefits of not marrying her

  828. Ken Reavley

I do think trent was relieved rachel stopped the wedding once he had a.chance to think about it.

  829. Amy Hudson

i’m sure Trent didn’t appreciate the way it was done publicly, but he was relieved it happened.

  830. Angie E.

while I think at first he was ticked about it then felt relived..I know I was glad Rachel stopped it…I can’t stand that woman Trent was going to marry!

  831. Shelly

I love the story between Rachel and Trent. I think he’s been into her since they met at least somewhat and I don’t think he was upset about the wedding interruption. I can’t wait to read more!!!

  832. Tina Syms

I think he was glad, but didn’t like Reachel all that much at the time! LOL!

  833. Jen W.

I think once he stopped being mad at her for arresting him and ruining the event, yes he was happy she kept him from marrying that woman.

  834. I think he was probably irritated at having been arrested but ultimately happy that he didn’t have to go through with the wedding.

  835. Brittany Green

I think at first he was furious but looking back he was glad and relieved! And he’s available for Rachel :)

  836. Lara Conlin

Re-reading the books again. Just getting to Trent’s wedding. I think Trent was a lucky man escaping getting married to the “bitch”!!

  837. I think he WAS happy! Heck, we were all happy. lol

  838. Kiley M.

I definitely think Trent felt relieved that he didn’t have to marry her, but was probably pretty ticked at the way Rachel stopped the wedding and that it was her specifically doing the stopping.

  839. Having read all of the books, I think that Trent may not have been happy initially, but in the end, yes. And while he may not have been consciously happy about it, deep down, he knew Ellasbeth wasn’t the right one for him.

  840. Priscilla

Yes! He needed someone to save him from himself. .. who better than her?!

  841. Jenny St. Arnold

    So exciting!!

  842. He might not have been happy about it at first, but I believe afterwards he was quite relieved that she stopped the wedding just in time.

  843. Megan T

Definitely relived, that horror-show elf he was going to marry was a total B.

  844. Samantha

at the time he wasn’t happy but later he was. He is a completely different person because of that.

  845. Samantha M.

I think Trent did want her help despite all the ‘it’s my duty’ talk; but I also think that he was hoping for something not so public as crashing his wedding.

  846. Amorahl

I think for him duty to his people was everything, but he’s glad to do a few days in jail, marriage was a life sentence.

  847. Jinny

I really do think he was relieved. He never would have gone so willingly if he wasn’t.

  848. Cindy

At first angry, but later relieved!

  849. Shirley

I don’t think he was happy that Rachel stopped the wedding, I think he felt relieved he didn’t have to marry Ellasbeth. In the earlier books he was more concerned with power & duty to his race. Rachel later begins teaching him that he can help his people & be true to himself.

    • Honestly, he seems to be the type of person that knows what he’s doing and does things for a specific reason.

  850. I think it was one of those situations where he didn’t know what was good for him. He was pissed at first, because he was under a lot of pressure for his race- but deep down, he was relieved. He’s too stubborn to admit that yet, though :-)

  851. Ana Fisic

I think he was angry about how she stopped the wedding, but relived that she did in the end

  852. Sally Bargery

I am sure Trent was pleased that Rachel stopped the wedding and the only way to save face was for him to be arrested otherwise there would have been a bigger issue if he tried to cancel the wedding

  853. Truman Faircloth

I think after sometime had passed he was happy.

  854. Nicole Hawkins

I think Trent was irritated with Rachael because she always gets under his skin. But relieved that she stopped it cause he really didn’t want to go through with it.

  855. At the time he was royally pissed. But, happy she did as things progressed.

  856. Samantha

At the time I’m sure he was pissed but later on he was glad

  857. Trent at first was scary furious with Rachel, though secretly he was relieved that he did not have to marry the shrew of an elf that was left. For really all he wanted was a child from her and was willing to do what ever it took to get one.

  858. Neitkopf

I don’t think he was happy with how she went about it but in the end I think Trent was not only grateful that Rachel stopped him from marrying someone he didn’t love but that was when he starting allowing himself a small amount of hope that Rachel might one day grow to care about him. If not the same way he cared about her then at least as a griend.

  859. Javinder

He was definitely happy about it. Sure he was pissed that he was being arrested, but he didn’t try very hard to reassure Ellasbeth as he was being led away, did he? =P

  860. Elise N

I think Trent was hugely irritated with Rachel for embarrassing him publicly. But at the same time, he was relieved to have a chance to get out of something he saw as a distasteful duty.

  861. I think that he was hoping for anything to happen.. And the fact that it was Rachel, whom he totally has a thing for. He is the guy that pulls the girls pigtails in school in grade 2. Maybe even the one that got away given their history together as kids. That’s what I think… ;)

  862. Kessa Eldridge

How can you tell if a man is happy? Trent probably was…

  863. Heather Kau

I believe that Trent was glad the wedding was stopped. Mostly because he nor she liked each other to begin with. He i felt was marrying her for the right reasons and need for his species. Her on the other hand I feel was doing it for the money. While Trent wasn’t happy with rachel for making his arrest a very public thing he was glad to be rid of that horrible women.

  864. RKanpik

I don’t think he was thrilled with being arrested. Being a public figure and all. Even though he was willing to marry Ellasbeth to do what felt was a duty (right thing) for his race. Although I feel he felt very relieved that the wedding didn’t happen, even though it conflicts with his sense of nobility.

  865. Yes, I think he was glad. I know my wife and I were. Love the books. Keep up the good work

  866. Kelsey

I think Trent was very happy. No one would want to marry that woman.

  867. Charlene Willis

Yes and no, Trent is a complicated man.

  868. Vici Teace

Trent was definately NoT happy Rachel arrested him, and I think the part of him we’ve been seeing lately was glad he didn’t have to go through with it. But the businessman side was disappointed. He was “supposed” to Marry her and he would have done it.

  869. At first I’m sure he was annoyed but then was glad she saved him from that woman!

  870. hell yeah he was. he loves him some rachel . they both knew with out know they wanted to be together !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  871. Jackie Jackson

Not at first, but in the end he was happier. :)

  872. Heather

Since Elizabeth was already pregnant with their daughter, no. Well, maybe in some ways, but he had already resigned himself to marrying her.

  873. vicki martin

I’m sure Trent was glad that Rachel stopped the wedding, however, I do not think he was that happy to have a smudge on him that was so public. Rachel enjoyed every bit of it. It was very enjoyable to read how she felt about arresting Trent and the little bit of revenge aganist Trent’s “lover.”

  874. Amanda Grizzard

Yes, I think he had a crush

  875. I’ve read several of your books, but not this one, so I can’t comment on the wedding. I love the cover, though!

  876. I think Trent was very glad that Rachel interrupted the wedding. He did not want to marry her at all. It was more a sense of duty than anything else. He probably wished she had interrupted in a different way but you take what you can get :)

  877. Doro

I think he definitely was glad that Rachel interrupted is Wedding even if he hadn´t noticed it at this Moment. Trent isn´t that cold that he could live in a relationship only for protecting his race.

  878. Cathy Wicks

Trent happy that Rachel stopped the wedding? Livid at first because of the public embarrassment but in the deep secret recesses of his heart very happy he was saved. Conflicted man in a chaotic situation that worked out being good for him.

  879. Gaye Sanchez

When it happened, at that time the interruption was not wanted, so it seemed by his arrogant attitude. He still complains about it. It takes a while before he admits it’s not for Love but for the species. Gosh it’s been awhile, hope I’m correct.

  880. m5mikki

I think he was glad that the wedding itself was stopped. It was obvious that it was completely an arranged marriage and that neither Trent nor Ellasbeth actually liked each other. So, though indignant that it was stopped because HE was getting ARRESTED, he was probably glad that he didn’t have to go through with marrying that woman.

  881. maureen marshall

I always thought Trent and Rachel would end up together. I think he was happy Rachel stopped the wedding!

  882. Karla Haswell

I think at this point that Trent was totally set on creating the next elf generation. I think he was frustrated that the wedding was stopped, mostly. I also feel that he believed that there was no doubt that he would get Ellasbeth back to the altar eventually. He sees this as a delay, not an ending.

  883. ashly

I do think that Trent was happy Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding. He was dreading marrying her. I also think that at the same time he was kinda pissed at Rachel for making a spectacle of it all.

  884. Cathy

At first I do not think he was happy because he felt it was his duty to marry her. In my opinion, he felt he had to marry her to help his species to the fullest of his abilities. After a while I do think he begins to feel very thankful she stopped the wedding, even if it was to arrest him.

  885. Rosa

I haven’t read it, but the covers are stunning! I love the the cover from into the woods! *O*

  886. I am really happy Rachel stopped the wedding. Trent was relieved that he didn’t have to go through with the wedding. I REALLY want to see her and Trent together. That would be very cool. They’d be good together in all ways.

  887. Martha Bloodwort

Yes. I think Trent was glad the wedding was stopped even if he didn’t fully realize it at the time.

  888. Amanda M

I think Trent was glad the wedding was stopped, but not so happy about the arrest.

  889. I think he was glad that the wedding was stopped, but wished it could’ve been done differently. However, the reality of the situation meant that they (Withons & Kalamacks) probably couldn’t have worked it out in private anyway. Therefore, a public incident like this was likely the only way the wedding *would* be stopped. Was he pleased that Rachel herself did it? Secretly, yes – as this was something he couldn’t quite admit to himself just yet,

  890. Rachel M

I think Trent was super relieved! I would be too, if I had to “settle” for that frosty woman.

  891. nicole warren

I believe he was happy she arrested him so he wouldnt have to spend the rest of his life tied to that spoiled rich bitch.

  892. Yes relieved, a little annoyed, but relieved.

  893. Danael McGuire

I believe Trent was happy on some level because he didn’t truly love the woman he was going to marry, but on the surface he wasn’t exactly pleased because he has a status that he has to maintain

  894. javacatz1

Yes. Trent was better off not married, even though the arrest wasn’t the way he would have chosen to go about
    it.

  895. Laura Lee

I was thrilled she did! And I think he was relieved.

  896. Rachel Vaughn

Of course Trent was glad Rachel stopped the wedding. It was an obligation that would have made him miserable.

  897. Jamie Mason

I don’t think Trent liked being arrested, especially in public, but I feel he was relieved that the wedding was stopped!!

  898. Melissa Fernandez

Well, I think at first he was pissed. Trent doesn’t like for his plans to change. However, ultimately, he was relieved. He’s got his eye on someone else…*wink*.

  899. Rach arresting Trent is one of my all time favorite scenes ever! I believe he was grateful for her stopping the marriage. He was marrying her out of a since of obligation not love.

  900. Kali Stovall

I think Trent was relieved Rachel stopped the wedding, he just couldn’t show it.

  901. Jessica McGuire

I always felt like that marriage was a sham and that she did him a favor. I really hope he doesn’t get back together with her! I think he was embarrassed by the circumstances but relieved he didn’t have to go through with it.

  902. Daniel Ludlow

I’m pretty sure there was a part of Trent that was glad the wedding was stopped, but being the man he is I’m also sure that he was very aggravated.

  903. I think Trent was more upset about his public image getting this attention than the actual wedding. Where Trent is now in the series I think he is pretty glad that moment happened.

  904. Diane McDaniel

I think he was glad she stopped it!

  905. becca

knowing trent from reading other books, trent holds his emotions very close so i dont think he gives to much away, apart from mild irritation but i think that is also a ‘tell’ of his, so yes i think he was realieved(i think he could have put up more of a fight, physical or words) but he would have done it for the elven good, even if rachel hadnt have been a wedding crasher.one of my fav books!

  906. Jenni

I would think both relieved and peeved. Rachel keeps messing up his perfect little world were everything is on his schedule and she always flies in and messes him up.

  907. At our office we aee which one of us gets your book first than we pass it around until someone else gets a copy. We all love your book’s.

  908. Clara Petersen

I think he was glad Rachel stopped the wedding, but I don’t think he was al that thrilled about how she stopped the wedding.

  909. I think its a yes, when rachel was bathing in Trent house, i notice how he cold he treat Ellesbeth.

  910. Susan Ray

I don’t believe at the time he was happy to have his plans interrupted, we know how he loves to have his pan followed to a T! But deep down where the reckless Trent lived and later on after some time to reflect i’m sure he was very happy!

  911. Danielle D.

I think that Trent was secretly thrilled that Rachel stopped the wedding. Nobody wants Ellsbeth. I prefer Trent to be single. He can be a lot more trouble that way.

  912. LaMishia allen

I absolutely think he was glad! It would have been a mistake of monstrous proportions. I’m certainly glad it didn’t happen.

  913. I haven’t read the book, but the your cover is so intriguing!! It is hot and I’m dying to read it.

  914. Danniell Hampton

I think that he was relieved at the reprieve from the wedding, even though he was mad about the way it happened.

  915. Brandy Rea

I think that the man trent was glad the wedding was stopped but the trent intent on saving his species was probably a little miffed and the fact that he was arrested very publicly… probably not too happy about that either

  916. Darleen ferguson

I thinkntrent was actually happy that the wedding was canceled. Maybe not initially, but he was.

  917. jaclyn keeling

In the end, yes he was. At the time I don’t think he knew what to think- glad- bad- happy -or not about what she was doing/had done- it was just another part of the chaos; because he was feeling a lot of things all at once, some conflicting- others he hadn’t even come to terms with himself and all the while trying to keep his usually facade in place for show/public.Those two sides of Trent begin to really start clashing in terms of whats best and what he wants/feels….in this book. :) loved it!

  918. Paula Williams

I love that she had such a cocky stance on the cover.

  919. Rae

Trent always seems to have more than one agenda. He was surprised Rachel arrested him, but I think part of him knew that Rachel would stop the wedding, just not by arresting him. He knows Rachel’s unpredictable and I think he was secretly counting on that. Despite knowing his ‘duty’, he didn’t want to marry Ellsabeth. He always antagonized Ellsabeth. After he cooled down I think he came to terms with Rachel’s decision and felt it was a solution to his problem, albeit not a good one. I think Trent has a thing for Rachel.

  920. Absolutely! Trent’s secretly in love with Rachael. :)

  921. I think Trent was glad he had a reason not to go through with the wedding though Im sure being arrested wasn’t an excuse he would have used given a choice ;)

  922. Erica W

I think Trent was thanking his lucky stars Rachel showed up. Ellasbeth is not a nice person/elf/whatever and knowing what I know now I can forgive her for some of the crazy but not for all of the mean and rude and downright condensation towards Rachel (I guess towards Trent too)

  923. Marya Lundquist

Trent’s simply wonderful. If he wasn’t glad about the wedding being stopped, I am!

  924. Jacquelyn Martin-Hruban

    I love all these books!

  925. Susie B.

Heck yeah Treat was glad she stopped the wedding. Maybe not the getting arrested part but he knows he would have been miserable if he married that chick lol. Thanks for the giveaway!

    Susie

  926. I don’t think Trent was too thrilled at first but I think eventually he was grateful.

  927. He was thrilled not to marry Elizabeth, but he was duty bound to marry her

  928. Jennifer Hornberger

Yes I think he was happy and it could be blamed on someone else so he was all the happier :)

  929. I think when it initially happened he was pissed, but as he got over it he was glad she did it.

  930. Diana L.

Of course he was happy Rachel stopped the wedding. Ellasbeth is, well….. Let’s just say that Trent is much better off without her.

  931. Dora Wilson

I am Sure Trent was relieved even if he didn’t act like it.

  932. I LOVE the cover! I really like the coloring and how striking it is!!

  933. That is a tough question. I didn’t get the impression that he was glad when Rachel arrested him at his wedding. His emotions always strike me as being more complex than that. I’d say he was upset at having his plans interrupted, a tad relieved for the momentary reprieve in delaying a marriage he doesn’t overly desire and perhaps a bit amused with Rachel since she always knows how to shake up his life with her chaotic, whirlwind existence. I think that’s part of what draws him to Rachel. She’s unpredictable and knows how to roll with the punches.

  934. Rhonda Beyer

I think Trent was glad because he didn’t want to marry that cow. She was a bitch it was a marriage of ease…

  935. Lindsey Alexander

Personally I feel that Trent was relieved when Rachel stopped his wedding. As much as he was willing to do what he had to do to help his race, marriage to this particular women was not on his wish list. He much prefers a woman who challenges him to do better, to BE better.

  936. Rochelle Harmon

I think he was relieved deep down Rachel stopped the wedding, but at the time he would never admit it. He was to busy being PISSED about being arrested and the fact that Rachel out played him.

  937. Katie Burns

II think Trent was incredibly relieved that Rachel stopped his wedding, especially since he knew he wasn’t actually guilty

  938. Carey

I think he was glad for a few fleeting moments

  939. I agree he certainly seemed happy to get out of that one.

  940. Danny Champion

I have not read this book YET, I love the series and just caught up to the last book. Plan on reading it on my flight to Arizona in a week. However, the cover is exactly what I wished it would be. Trent and Rachel are destined to be together.

  941. Spencer Williams

I am sure that Trent was very happy to have any excuse not to go through with the wedding. Although I am sure being arrested wasn’t the top of his list

  942. Jen

He absolutely was glad Rachel stopped the wedding. He was only marrying her out of obligation. He needs someone with more warmth and fire. Like perhaps a redheaded day walking demon… :)

  943. Blaine Lee

I haven’t read it yet but if i win i look forward to spending the time reading it. I think the cover looks wicked.

  944. Jennifer lujan

I think Trent was irritated because of the embarrassment that it caused him, but I think that in another level he was relieved. He did not even like his bride to be. I think the only reason he was even going through it was to try and keep his species alive.

  945. Hayley Fountain

I think it might have taken him some time to get over the fact that Rachel arrested him, but he was probably glad about it later.

  946. Christy

I think he was relieved. He may not have been initially but in the end he knew that it was for the best :)

  947. rebecca navarro

He may not have been glad to get arrested but I think he was happy to get out of the marriage. Trent prefers to do his own thing and I think he really wants to be with Rachel (or maybe that’s just what I want lol).

  948. Kristen Rowinsky

I absolutely think Trent was happy Rachel stopped the wedding….just not being arrested!

  949. Tim B

Yes, I think he was extremely happy that he didn’t get married

  950. Staci

The relief from a wedding was definitely up Trent’s alley!

  951. Cindy Jo

Trent was relieved since that was not “his” wedding but was Ellasbeth’s. It gave him a reason to not go through with it and time to make some decisions what he wants and the best way to live his life.

  952. Crystal Dinwiddie

yes I think Trent was glad Rachel arrested him.

  953. I think he was angry he was getting arrested, but grateful that the wedding was called off because of it.

  954. Jessica

I don’t think glad is the term I’d use. I think he was relieved because he personally couldn’t stand her, but he went into the engagement out of duty for his species, not love. I’m sure he felt a little annoyed because it would add more drama to an already unpleasant relationship.

  955. Julie

I think Trent was glad she stopped the wedding. Ellsbeth is a shrew. He is much better off without her. The way Rachel did it had me giggling.

  956. Jamie

    Deep down, yes he did.

  957. Leann

Yes, he was definitely happy she stopped the wedding.

  958. Rachel

He Was Glad she Stopped The Wedding. I Can’t Imagine Anyone Being Happy Married To That Woman.

  959. Brooke Fordham

Trent was happy not to married because he wouldn’t be able to torment Rachel. Plus he couldn’t do risky things and plots

  960. Leslie D.

yes, he was definitely relieved, after he got over being mad for the public embarrassment!

  961. Charlena

I think he was, he didnt really want to be married to the elf chick.

  962. Elizabeth Seaton

At the time, I believe he was conflicted – thought of it as his duty but didn’t love her so was upset that it was being stopped but by the time the cuffs came off was glad it was stopped.

  963. Liz

I know I was glad that she did :) I never thought Trent should marry her and I felt that was one of the most powerful scenes in the series. When I think about Trent – he is one person with Rachel and I think she paved the way for him to see he could grow and take risks and without her pushing him he would never really have grown to what he is today. I think he owes Rachel a lot from saving him from that marriage. I do find it hard to just take just the events that have occurred up to the read-along into consideration when I make these responses because I’ve read the books a few times over looking for those special things that make me love the Hollows so much.

  964. Sarah P
